Ruth's Chris Steak House - Pasadena Ratings and Reviews
Best Ruth's experience in a while! Server Julia was fantastic. She paid close attention to every detail, our special requests, and ensured our food and beverages were to our liking. Very energtic but not intrusive. Lamb chops were superb and the filet mignon was top-notch, juicy, flavorful, tender and a great cut. Creamed spinach, mushrooms and asparagus with hollandaise are the best sides...onion rings would be better but you have to order those in advance...definitely will next time. Wait staff very knowledgeable and hostess was professional and efficient.
Nice pre-theater dinner.
Seated at a banquette that would've been difficult for four, the three of us enjoyed a splendid dinner before the Pasadena Playhouse. My two companions ordered off the Classics menu -- filet/shrimp and ribeye -- and enjoyed them thoroughly. I opted for crabcakes, which were fresh tasting and meaty, but were not finished to my taste. Not the restaurant's fault, just the recipe.
Caesar salads and carrot ginger soup were big hits as starters. Shared side dishes were perfect accompaniments -- mashed potatoes, crab-fried rice, creamed spinach and fresh broccoli.
A few weeks ago, we ate at the Toronto store, which has brought back the excellent Key lime pie. Sadly Pasadena has not, although the cheesecake was scrumptious, with a nice citrusy accent. Berries with sweetened cream also made a great dessert. The apple galette was a little disappointing. More an apple pie with delusions of grandeur.
Service by Nicole was brisk and friendly. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, waddled off to the theater and will definitely be back.
Even though the rib eye was advertised as well marbled, I found it too dry and a bit tough. I requested medium rare but the steak was closer to medium. My partner's filet was also a bit well done. This is not the first time. Ruth Chris seems to do a poor job in cooking steaks to what the customer specifies.
Food was great but I know it was busy because we waited quite a bit for our first course, and at some point, our glasses of water were empty for more than 15 minutes without anyone coming by to check on us. But we get it—it was a busy Saturday night. How about bussers who aren’t waiting tables to go around and check on water refills?
Celebrated our 24th Wedding Anniversary. We both had the Filet Mignon on the bone (Amazing), and shared the Lobster Mac n Cheese, Honey & Bacon Brussel Sprouts, and a bottle of New Zealand Pinot Noir. And for dessert, we shared a Complimentary apple fritter ala mode and two glasses of champagne. Another great dining experience at one of our favorite restaurants!!
We were seated in a high traffic area and servers were speaking to each other over our heads. Our server seemed indifferent to our service. Our orders were switched and she forgot our side orders . She also forgot our desserts. We got better service from the bus person. But as usual the food was great so we will go back!
We dined at the Pasadena location for our 45th anniversary. Awesome experience. As always.
We were treated to a special menu printed with our names at the top and were provided a complimentary beautiful (and tasty!) dessert.
Thank You Ruth's Chris for making this special occasion an unforgettable experience.
It was my birthday dinner and everything was delicious and picture-perfect at the Pasadena Ruth's Chris. Food was wonderful, wine was spot-on (nice selection) and our server was outstanding. That's why we go to this restaurant for special occasions ... and for Thanksgiving (they do that right too!) thank you for making my birthday special.
Ruths Chris has always been our favorite restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. The food is delicious! They make any celebration memorable by the little touches. Our table was decorated with birthday confetti, the first page of my husband's menu had his name and birthday wish printed at the top and of course, the dessert was yummy! Apple pie and vanilla ice cream. Looking forward to our next event!
Everything was excellent that night. Service, food, and ambiance. Gary our waiter was exceptional. He was like a twin of our normal waiter Jin.
My only issue with this Ruth Chris is the hostess. They seriously need to take a class on customer service. When we entered, we were greet d by "may I help you". Not a welcome, hello, how are you, nothing but may I help you like I was lost. We only come in 1-2 times a month. I'm not looking for anyone to greet me by name but show some class.
9-10 isn't bad for the night and I'm glad it was at the beginning of the night. Everything afterwards made up for the bad hostess experience.
Food is always delicious here and they are so attentive to service here. On this visit, our server accidentally knocked over a water glass and immediately the manager and the server were on it. For the rest of the evening they were extra attentive to us and comped us dessert as well. Made us feel like they really cared about our dining experience.
