Ruth's Chris Steak House - Parsippany Ratings and Reviews
Too many mishaps for an important business dinner- martinis that had an unsavory odor- shards of broken glass found on table, seats, on the floor - jeopardizes safety and questions cleanliness - unapologetic manager - very indifferent- long wait in between courses. I will Not return and I hope this experience doesn’t impact my impending business /sale. Terrible for a chain of this high caliber
What can I say? Another fabulous dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I had the seasonal soup that was fabulous, Surf and Turf with two lobster tails, and juicy Ribeye prepared perfectly. I try to make it back at least once a month for a special date night, expensive, but worth every penny.
Multiple servings of same course came out at different times (even dessert) making my party of 3 unable to eat dinner together without food getting cold. One side dish appeared after dinner was done (was not charged for that item but that was not the point). Saturday night was very crowded and kitchen must have been a mess.
We have dined at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Parsippany, NJ many times and continue to be impressed with their stellar service, delectable food, and classic steakhouse ambiance. My son has spent the last three months preparing for his entrance exam at Seton Hall Preparatory School, and we were celebrating that evening after he completed the exam earlier that morning. It was the perfect way to commend him on all of his hard work - at one of our favorite establishments! The stuffed crabmeat mushrooms were incredible for my appetizer! My son ordered the bone-in filet medium rare for the first time and said it was fantastic! I had to steal a bite and it was so tender and flavorful that I decided to order it in the future instead of my favorite go to filet. The lobster mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts were also fantastic! We all finished with the bread pudding with either Chambord or Frangelico sauce and they were superb! Thank you again for another remarkable meal!!
We are regular diners at Ruth's Chris in NJ, NY and Florida. This particular experience was less than sterling. We tried to order steamed spinach with garlic, which we've had many times before, but were told by waiter that he'd have to check if they were making that this evening. He came back and told us they were not; they were only offering creamed spinach. We found out later from manager that all spinach in kitchen had been dedicated to making creamed spinach, leaving not a leaf available for preparing it any other way.
Then, they ran out of our favorite Scotch in the middle of our second round. So they could only offer one of us a second round (my wife declined to order a different Scotch, so we shared mine). Manager explained there had been some big event over weekend and they hadn't replenished supply. It's like Macy's running out of white socks- basics should be reordered when supply gets low, not after you've run out. Frankly, I thought they should have comped us that second drink, but no offer was made. And, when we got our bill, they charged us for 4 drinks not 3 and I had to ask to have the bill adjusted.
Finally, I tried to use a $50 Open Table reward to apply to the bill of over $300, but manager explained that it had been declined. I'd just printed it out a few hours before. It had a Mastercard number on it and an expiration one year out. It's a paper version of a pre-loaded debit card. The manager said it did not work. Next day I called toll free number on certificate- this is the bank that backs the debit card, they explained that restaurant had tried to run the ENTIRE amount of bill, over $300, on certificate, which clearly stated on front the $50 value. They should have run certificate for $50 and then put remaining balance on my credit card.
I would give this location another chance- maybe they just had a bad night or maybe the management was new. But it was not the usual experience we expect from Ruth's Chris.
Food and service was excellent. General manager made a point of coming over at the end to see how we liked the meal and service. Our daughter called in a surprise dessert for my Birthday and it was handled flawlessly by the staff. A memorable special occasion experience.
My Dad's 77th Birthday bone-in Filet was accompanied by perfectly cooked asparagus & hollandaise sauce while my Mom thoroughly enjoyed her 22 oz Cowboy Ribeye. My wife Robin & I shared the decadent 40 oz Porterhouse. We all shared the Calamari drizzled in a delicious Asian sauce & Au Gratin potatoes while my Dad's several Crown & 7Up's made the birthday boy very happy! Excellent!
Dad also enjoyed his complimentary birthday dessert🍨
