Ruth's Chris Steak House - Palm Desert Ratings and Reviews
Ruth's Chris is always good for steak since that is their specialty. I had the fillet mignon and it was done perfectly. The only criticism I have is they put too much butter on the steak so that it is swimming it it when it is served at the table. The sides are all good. The ambience is wonderful and the decor is beautiful. Overall it's a treat place to dine.
Ruth's Chris in Palm Desert was an excellent place to dine during Palm Springs Restaurant Week. Their special menu provided an Outstanding dinner at a reasonable price. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. The taste of the food was excellent and the pace of service was just right.
You can't beat the filet at Ruth's Chris. Tender, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Don't forget the mushrooms that were perfect with steak and mashed potatoes. A bit pricey to go as often as we like so it has to be reserved for a special occasion. We ordered wine with our dinner but our server got busy and forgot so we were almost finished by the time it arrived. But the service and food were excellent and we hope to return soon.
Ruth's Chris never disappoints. It is always consistently good. We tried the crab cakes appetizer (at our server's suggestion) and had shrimp cocktail. The crab cakes were delicious (my group always loves them, they are not typically my favorite, but they were very good) and the shrimp were fresh, firm, and tasty. My daughter and I had filet and lobster, which was cooked perfectly. My husband and daughter's boyfriend had the porterhouse for two, with lobster tail. Everything was great from start to finish. Love to visit the desert and have a great dinner at Ruth's Chris.
Our dining experience was just horrible. After appetizers were served we waited over a half hour for our entrees . When asked about the delay our waitress said it was their protocol to serve entrees 20 min after the appetizer. When dinner came 3 of the entrees were cool, the steak and burger were terribly overdone. We were assured it would be corrected immediately and when the rest of the party had finished eating the sides came out but still no entrees. Manager was very apologetic and nice but this restaurant has some serious issues with quality and service. We won't be back .
Started off on bad note, guests already seated when host arrived I was told I didn't have a reservation even though my guests were already seated. Was given another table after much typing , thankfully my guests saw me.
After meal was delivered there was no follow up with pepper, re-fills etc, room was empty of any staff.
Highly recommend ordering the filet. My husband ordered a different steak and my filet was better. Get it medium rare and you won't be disappointed. Our waiter and the manager also did an excellent job accommodating my food allergies. Very nice atmosphere and excellent food!
I was disappointed that our waiter never poured our wine from the bottle we purchased. My husband and I each had to pour our own glass and since I was a server years ago, I know this is a huge "no no". My steak was a bit overcooked. I didn't say anything because it was still a decent steak but I would have preferred it to be cooked the way I asked it to be cooked (medium). We did go there specifically because I think Ruth Chris, in general, has the best steak of any steakhouse out there.
