Birthday boy felt the love. Thanks!
Server miscommunicated to the busboy about packing our food Togo. They ended up throwing it away. We had purposely left a good amount of portion for leftovers in case our son woke up in the middle of the night since he stayed asleep during the dinner. They compensated us with $25 gift card which is definitely not equivalent to all the steak and sides that were supposed to have been taken home. Food was also mediocre compared to other previous dining experiences at Ruth Chris.
I told them twice that it was both of our birthdays and they completely ignored my friend. They cooked his meat as I requested mine, and mine as he requests (i.e. flip flopped). The roasted cauliflower was flavorful, but dry. The waiter fawned all over and obviously wealthier couple (and our check was still nearly $200, not chump change) and basically ignored us. I hadn't been to Ruth's since my birthday 6 years ago, and I was disappointed. I rarely only tip 15%, but this time I did because I felt the service was sub standard.
It was just ok. Certainly not worth the price for the food. Had lamb chops which were over cooked and the waiter couldn’t say if they were loin chops but that they had a bone. Caesar salad was boring. Asked for extra lemons for salad and was brought half a miniature lemon and had to ask them to bring extra lemon juice. Other than that I guess it was ok but absolutely not the best steakhouse in town.
We always have a great time at Ruth Chris, the best steak house around. Great food and service. They also have a reasonable cork fee which is a huge plus.
Food was cooked perfectly. We had a very nice evening. Thank you once again!!
We have been to this location (Palm Desert) several times and it is top notch service every time. Our waiter, Gabe, was very welcoming and this makes a difference in any dining experience. The food, in my opinion, is second to none. We do visit another location from time to time but, my wife and I did notice the difference in service. I recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House to all my friends and family and will now let them know how good the service always is at the Palm Desert location. If you have never been to a Ruth's Chris Steak House, it is truly a dining experience! I highly recommend this location.
Have eaten at the Fresno location twice before. Not sure why but the scallops and the halibut did not have a lot of flavor.
I was extremely disappointed !!! I have been eating @ Ruth’s Chris around the country for about 35 years but nows the time to take a break from your restaurants.
Your prices are outlandish for the portions you get, and everything is al a carte. Does your waitstaff pay any attention when you order. Just about everything we ordered had some sort of issue with it. There are many steakhouses out there. We will be trying those and maybe one day we will give Ruth’s a chance again. $230 for 2 dinners & 2 glasses of wine is a bit ridiculous.
For that money everything should be perfect !!!
And it definitely was not........Special Occasion was never mentioned........Too Bad !!! DISAPPOINTED
Service was excellent as well as our steaks and appetizers. Recommend highly.
Good vibe the food was delicious
Delicious food, and friendly service. I was there to celebrate my birthday, and it added to my "happy" day.
Everything was good until our server came around. It seemed as though she took one look at us and felt we wouldn’t tip good?? I’m not sure. She was rude all the way around. We asked her for a few minutes to look at the menus and she annoyed with that. When I asked her about a particular wine she did not have an answer instead she said it was “meh”. What meh?? I would come back but I would definitely want another server. For the price you pay they should be a little more friendly.
Excellent food and service Steaks were cooked perfectly.
Our first time and the service by Mark was exceptional. Can’t wait for the next time!
ALWAYS EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE. WE HAVE HAD DINNER WITH YOU OVER THE YEARS AND WE HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. MANY THANKS!!!
Timely and helpful
It was my birthday and everyone was especially wonderful to us. Samantha was great, Michael was wonderful and I didn’t get the name of Michael’s helper but He was awesome as well. Thank you for a fabulous birthday dinner.
This has always been our absolute favorite restaurant and everything is usually perfect, but this time it was a bit of a dissapointment. Unfortunately we picked an evening that there was a large group seminar going on in the back room area. We were seated at a table directly outside the doors so we were constantly disturbed by wait staff going in and out with large trays of food and dishes. When our meals came out they were first delivered to an adjacent table. Our side dish of layered potatoes was served at room temperature, not warmed thru at all. After we told our waiter, the manager came over to apologize and asked if he could bring something else, which we declined. The dessert was supposed to be strawberry shortcake but it was very dry and had two sliced strawberries and 3 small dabs of whip cream. I must add that our filet's were excellent, as usual, and the manager did give us a discount off the bill. We will definitely go back as this experience was totally not a normal experience here.
The service was great, atmosphere was also great food was great I will give 5 stars for satisfaction. Highly recommended.
Jazmin was our delightful server. Very professional and knowledgeable. Made our birthday celebration memorable.
Always great steak and side dishes
Fantastic food choices. Taste is amazing and the service can't be beaten. Our server was so good, great knowledge of the menu and great personality. Will go back as usual.
I ordered an appletini and explicitly told the server that I did NOT want pineapple juice. There's something about this particular store where a bartender chose to change the recipe around 2009 to include pineapple juice and Midori. I have sent back several cocktails because of this recipe change. An appletini has NO pineapple juice, NOR Midori, yet, the cocktail I received tasted of pineapple. I get that bartenders like to twist things up a bit, but when I specifically ask for NO pineapple, and the server has to go to the bartender and take him to task ,that's a problem. Tell the Palm Desert store that appletinis are vodka, whatever green apple stuff you use, and NOTHING else! The rest of the visit was superb, as usual. NO PINEAPPLE!!!
My wife and I went to dinner on our 1st anniversary on Monday 7/15. We each had the prefix 3 course meal. To start, the food was top notch. The cesar salad was perfect. The dessert, strawberry shortcake, was the best I’ve ever had. Our entree was a filet. Perfect. So perfect, in fact, I’m STILL talking about it! But I have to say, the best part of our night, was our server, Michael. He was great. Friendly, attentive, but not overbearing, and knowledgeable. He made the experience memorable.
The specialized menu for the birthday person was great! It was an amazing birthday.
Service and food were impeccable. Will definitely return
Best steak ever!
We were celebrating my husbands birthday. We had an earlier reservation when it was not that busy. By the time we left, it was busy. Our server was good, however he allowed my ice tea to be empty twice. :( Also when our meal was brought out, mine was not. He said he put it in, but the kitchen didn't make it. Later someone came around and asked if we would like a glass of wine for the inconveninece. That was a nice gesture on their part. The food was excellent. Very happy with our selections of BBQ shrimp and the rib eye steak. Cooked to perfection. :) Also they put a personalized menu sheet into our menu folders wishing my husband a happy birthday. Very nice touch. And the hostess who seated us sprinkled Happy Birthday confetti on our table. After our meal we both had a dessert and his came on a place with Happy Birthday and his name spelled in chololate. :) Also a candle.
Unfortunately this review is based on poor service and sub par food quality. My husband ordered lobster that did not come out with his steak. His steak was very charred on the outside. The brussel sprouts were too tough. Our server took the lobster off our bill since it was so delayed, but that must be why the table next to us got a free dessert for celebrating a birthday, and we were not offered one with our birthday celebration? Completely unimpressed.
Awesome dinner and great service
Excellent experience as always!
Celebration dinner....30th wedding anniversary. The entire staff wished us a happy anniversary and made the evening special.
Food was good.
Was highly disappointed on this trip to Ruth's Chris. We were sat at a table in the back next to a private room. In the room they were having some kind of infomercial for Stem Cell. It was loud and when the crowd came out after it was over, they hung out around our table and were very loud and annoying. After they all left, they ushered in a whole new group. This was a special dinner with my dad and I have to say, not the evening we had wanted.
I’ve been to over 40 Ruth’s Chris locations and, sadly, this one was sub-par. While the steak itself was excellent, other parts of the meal had issues.
First, the barbecue shrimp appetizer, which was ordered with extra garlic, came with almost none. Plus, the shrimp were slightly undercooked, still having that translucent look rather than an opaque white.
Second, each steak was ordered with an accompanying cold water lobster tail. For $18.50 per tail, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to expect a lobster tail that is bigger than the shrimp in the appetizer, but that was not the case. These lobster tails were some of the smallest that I had ever seen, amounting to no more than 3 small bites!
Lastly, the shoestring fries that were ordered had no crispness whatsoever! Being so thin, it seems almost impossible to be able to fry them and not get at least some of them crisp, but that was the case here.
The quality control in the kitchen, and by the wait staff, was sorely lacking.
On a scale of 1 to 10, this Ruth’s Chris, on this night, was no better than a 6, saved only by the steak.
Really nice time. Food was really good and the service was excellent.
This place will be a "repeat" for us! Perfect food pairings, top notch service, ambiance, and my husband could hear our conversation with is a big plus!
Issac our busser was really the main reason we enjoyed our time, amazing personality and I think Forbes rated service from here. Our waitress was very grumpy and moody and had a lot of attitude and we felt very rushed. The food was very well so that was good but probably not coming back to this location.
Very good meal and service. Not exceptional but very good. Will return.
