Ruth's Chris Steak House - Ocean City Ratings and Reviews
We come down a few times a year from Rehoboth and most of the time it is always top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner this visit as well. The staff was fantastic with a special shout out to Hope, she was a serving team member who really stood out. The food and wine were delicious and we will be back.
My husband and I had dinner for my birthday. The server did a great job we wanted to enjoy a cocktail before ordering and she left us but she was still attentive. We both had filet and lobster tail ( it was the special) cooked perfectly. I love the ambience of the restaurant.
We have been to this Ruth’s Chris before, always had great food and love that it is very unique. We decided to bring another couple w us on New Years Eve. Everyone was a bit disappointed w the limited menu and the quality of their meal. I’m hoping it was just due to it being very busy on a holiday.
Went on New Years Eve and everything was perfect. 2nd year in a row. While all of our friends complained about other restaurants, about being seated 1 hour+ after their reservation, cold food, cramped, noisy atmosphere, everything was perfect both years. Don't get me wrong the place was hopping. Seating was full at our 5:45 reservation, but very under control. I noticed that people coming in sometimes waited 5-10 minutes at the hostess station, but never a back-up. Pricey, but the ultimate in quality.
I enjoy taking my family here for a celebratory event - in this case Christmas Eve tradition. Food is generally spot on - except on this occasion my brothers rib eye was very fatty/ grissle laden. Could have been the cut - I would have expected them to take the price off of our bill- as it was evident by his dish that he had not eaten the majority of it. They gave him a complimentary dessert - this on a $400 check - he would have said something sooner but they were pretty slammed on this occasion. Found this a bit disappointing. Otherwise the food was tasty, good wine by the glass selection, friendly service. RC is one of my favorite chains. My steak was perfectly cooked - Pittsburg style
This was our 49th wedding anniversary and our granddaughter's 18th birthday celebration.
My husband said it was the best steak he ever had. I had been there once before and I told him he had never had a good tasting steak. He said I was right.
It is costly but well worth the visit.
Our granddaughter loved it as well.
Hostess check-in was polite and efficient. Our server, Bianca, was knowledgeable, pleasant and very attentive. She recommended a tasty pre meal cocktail and even altered it slightly to my taste. The food was excellent and the wine list had something just right for the two of us.
The only negative I had was that the bar was understaffed for the crowd that was there. We were going to start with a cocktail there but after 10 minutes of no service, we decided to go to our table. This will not keep me from coming back as it has not been this way in the past and the rest of the evening was delightful.
Our waiter was Vlad. He was very conciencious. He knew the menu and worked great with the customers. The surf and turf was excellent. The lamb chops were huge and delicious. The Shrimp Cocktail appetizer was one of my all time favorites. Huge shrimp, fresh and delicious. The sweet potato casserole was to die for and the brussell sprouts had great flavoring. Service was excellent as the waiter was very observant. This was the best Ruth Chris ever. Had a bad dining experience at Ruth Chris in Pikesville years ago, and swore never to go back to Ruth Chris. Flemmings was my favorite, the Ombionce and our visit I would say rates at a 10 out of 10. We were there at night, so we could not see the scenery out doors. All was excellent.
Manager John went above and beyond to make my husband's birthday extra special. Our waitress Bianca did an excellent job of serving us, and we were not rushed at all. This was the first time we've ever had our coffee cups warmed with hot water before pouring the coffee. All 4 meals were excellent. Thanks to all who made this special occasion great.
Our home is in Delaware County, PA, very close to the home of the legendary race horse owner Samuel Riddle. The Riddle name, and those of his famous horses (Man O’ War, War Admiral, etc.) are used in housing developments, roads, restaurants and even a major hospital. They are names and history we grew up with are very familiar. On our way to a conference in Virginia Beach, we stopped off about halfway the first night in Berlin, Maryland. By blind choice, we chose Ruth’s Chris from Open Table, wanting a higher quality dinner than typical resort stopovers offer. We were first surprised that this particular restaurant was the clubhouse restaurant of a country club, located adjacent to the golf course. We were doubly surprised to see the pictures of Sam Riddle and his horses, and to discover that this was the area where his horse training farm had been located. The restaurant even housed a Riddle museum. The staff was more than willing to talk about the history. The ambiance was men’s clubbish elegant. The food was of the quality you expect from Ruth’s Chris. The wine was priced on the high side but all in all it was a very pleasant and comfortable dining experience. I had the NY strip. My wife had the Filet. Both were cooked exactly to specification and seasoned perfectly. The vegetable portions were too large for either of us to finish. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends, and more importantly, I would return on a future trip.
As a frequent diner at Ruth Chris Steakhouses in various locations, we were greatly disappointed that this location did not honor the 3 course seasonal price fix promotion. Before making the reservation, we visited their website. Under the promotions link, it was clearly listed. Although the waiter was a nice young man, we were surprised the manager did not address the fact that we questioned the price fix menu that clearly comes up on their website. We observed the manager visiting the other tables to make sure they were having a satisfactory experience, it seems as though she avoided our table. In addition, we indicated we were celebrating an anniversary, no acknowledgment was made by any staff member. The food was prepared well to Ruth Chris standards, however, their chef special menu was easily misinterpreted. It appeared to us that there were two types of fingerling potatoes: oven roasted and roasted with Chipotle, cheese and bacon. We ordered the plain roasted, and received the chipotle ones. When we questioned the waiter, his reply was this happened many times before and they were going to rewrite the menu. He did not offer to take any action to rectify the situation.
*Added note: The General Manager did contact me after my review (He was not the manager on duty when we dined here). He was extremely nice and did his best to rectify the situation. I look forward to eventually meeting him and dining at his location again.
Food did not come out at same time.Steak and lobester came out then the rest of the meal afterwe ask about it. The restaurant was not busy. I was surprised that the steak had butter on it when I asked for it not to and mashed potatowas not hot The manager took the vegetables off bill but seemed litte for the cost.
My husband and I went there for our anniversary. We were sat at a nice table and they treated us like we were the only ones there. The food was excellent, service was impeccable and although it is a bit loud, the setting is great. It's a wonderful historical building with a great history.
We always enjoy the steaks and side dishes (mushrooms in particular) because of the high quality of the meat, hot temperature of the steaks and side dishes along with the delicious drinks. The atmosphere is always nice, and it is a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, the holidays, etc.
