About Ruth's Chris Steak House - Niagara Falls
Our story began in 1965 when Ruth Fertel purchased "Chris Steak House" in New Orleans. Proudly adding her name to the original, Ruth"s Chris Steak House has since become renowned for providing and incredible Steak House experience.
Our Prime USDA steaks are cooked to perfection in an 1800° broiler and served sizzling on a plate heated to 500° to lock in the delicious flavour. Our steaks may have made us famous but our southern roots and warm hospitality are equally memorable.
With over 135 locations worldwide, our family of Steak Houses continues to offer extraordinary steaks, sides and desserts; prepared just as Ruth would have herself, with high quality, fresh ingredients, generous portions and that special homemade touch.

Ruth's Chris Steak House - Niagara Falls Ratings and Reviews
Overpriced mainstream food. Booths line the main pathway for guests and staff, very high traffic. Side plate and fork were dirty when we sat down and waiter never brought replacement. Waiter trying to pickup extremely hot plates from tray with a slippery polyester napkin. Almost burnt himself twice and almost dropped the plate. Accident waiting to happen. Please supply your staff with proper grips for these hot plates! Family style sides and main takes up all the room on its small plate but no empty dinner plate was given in order to have room to eat main and sides together. Child's meal well priced for small filet. Adult version with two pieces of meat and no sides or ice cream was at least 4x more cost? Makes no sense.
The food was good, however it was way too costly for what you get, even for Niagara Falls. We were offered water when we were seated, so we had time to look at the menu. Out of the two options provided, sparkling or flat, we had selected flat. We were going to be charged for that water. Seriously? Indicate that to your guests, as that is grossly misleading. They ended up comping it. Although the food was good, I would never go back to that location. The Kegs view and value is way more substantial at the Falls. Opt to go there.
Took my mother for her birthday and they absolutely made it so special. If this app would allow me to post photos I would upload a picture of the dessert they gave us on which they wrote happy birthday in chocolate! Everything was perfect. If you’re celebrating a special occasion I would unreservedly recommend this location!
Was not impressed
heard so many things about this amazing Steakhouse the steak was overcooked the food was mediocre the seafood was extremely salty you can barely taste the lobster the only good thing about this restaurant was the waiter would not recommend to anyone
Overall experience was below average in comparison to the Ruth's Chris locations in the GTA. We mentioned it was our anniversary and they threw rose petals on the table as we were being seated in a booth located by the bar. One of the steaks came overcooked and they charged us a $2 fee for dessert despite them stating dessert would be complimentary since it was our anniversary. For the price and service I would not recommend this particular location for visitors.
This Ruth’s Chris is a massively different experience than any other in the chain. Overpriced 2x versus downtown Toronto! The private booths are lovely, but I’m not sure I would have been willing to pay full pop ($400 for two entrees, no sides, no dessert, one appetizer and two by the glass glass of wine) - the $200 voucher was the only thing that made it even close to reasonable.
Had a small demonination coupon (included in Hotel package for the Sheraton). Hence I was presented a menu with prices so marked up that the restaurant made the coupon value up easily (example $79.00 for a tiny filet, with no sides / sauces). RIP-OFF NOTICE - HOTEL PACKAGES WITH COUPONS TO THIS RESTAURANT ARE NOT WORTH THE EFFORT. I have been to Ruth Chris many times at other locations (including the downtown Toronto location) and the prices are market rate for a good steakhouse. THAT'S NOT THE CASE HERE, to be fair the food is great, but the value for service and food is terrible. THE HOTEL AND RUTH CHRIS COUPON PACKAGE IS A RIP-OFF - BEWARE!
The quality of food at Ruth’s Chris is always excellent and this was no exception.
The tuna appetizer is the best I have ever had. As always, our meals were excellent as was the service.
However, I was appalled by the exorbitant costs in comparison to other Ruth’s Chris locations. To be clear, the menu prices in this Ruth’s Chris are significantly more than in other areas including those in downtown Toronto. In comparing my last two receipts, Toronto and Niagara Falls, a meal in Niagara Falls costs WAY more for the same meal.
To be honest, I was shocked by the prices in Niagara Falls. On top of that, the nearly 10% Niagara Falls Destination Tax put it over the top.
In summary, Ruth’s Chris is an awesome meal - hands down. Just be prepared to pay a handsome price in Niagara Falls.
The food, service and restaurant ambience are excellent it’s just so very over priced I have to give a 4 star rating. Our meal was started with crab cakes and a chop house salad shared by me and my husband the 2 8 oz filets with a shared potato side. He had 2 beers and I had 1 martini the bill was over $300. Again it was very good but you are going to pay big for it.
Unless you are independently wealthy, and have no conscious as to how you spend your money you will absolutely feel taken by this place. I have eaten at several Ruth Chris steak houses in the states and felt the food here was at best average. My husband ordered a martini and the drink was not for human consumption. He sent it back and was subsequently informed that the bartender had made it with a liquid used for practice! During our dinner they seated us in a very private area of the restaurant. Yet, throughout they were moving tables and chairs for an upcoming event the next day. When the dinner arrived I had a small filet and lobster bisque. That alone was over $100 Canadian. By the end our bill was over $400. I felt totally taken and wished I had read the reviews before this mistake. Oh and when we got back to the hotel we found they charged us for the $24 martini! There was only one redeeming feature of the evening and that was our waitress who had been on the job for only 2 days. She was great.
I truly hope you will not make the same mistake we did for our anniversary.
We were very excited to be seated in a private dining booth but it was situated right next to the bar which made it slightly more noisy than other private booths. This would’ve been okay, but there was a murder mystery dinner happening in the bar area which made it extremely loud while we were trying to dine. This took away from any ambiance there was. The waiter apologized as did a manager but that was it. The food was good, just not over $300 CAD good. Would not recommend or return to this particular location.
Outrageously expensive. We enjoy Ruth's Chris locations all over the country and none has prices that compare to this one. After converting Canadian dollars to USD I'd guess at least 20% higher than the highest we've ever seen. Was almost empty on a Saturday night. I understand why. If cost is not an issue you'll love it.
The atmosphere was nice, food was delicious, and a good amount of choices. It’s like any other Ruth’s Chris, where it can get expensive. Thanks to a voucher from our resort, we saved $150...but still ended up paying $200+. Service got 4 stars, because we would not see our server for some time...could have had a large party or something, but we had to wait for additional items or ask another server for assistance. He was awesome though, but just expected to see him more in such a dinning setting. Manager was really nice, and stopped by twice to check on us as well. Overall not a bad experience, just extremely expensive. Luckily we knew this going into the dinner, so we were prepared to get a big bill. They do charge the tourist tax, but took it off once we asked them to.
Total old school- loved the curtained opium den styled booths, and, of course the 6oz and 11 oz filets were magnificent and cooked perfectly. Sides were okay (potatoes au gratin, asparagus- hard to mess up) but the dipping sauces were a bit odd and a terrible value. We were overcharged for 2 glasses of a decent primitivo ($14 on the menu- $20 per glass on our bill) and the bizarre tourism tax added a whopping $38 to our bill. Even with $150 coupon we were $230 C more with no appetizer, coffee or dessert. Much more than a typical Ruth's Chris (if there was a view of the falls i could understand- but no view at all).
We had a promotion from a hotel and that is why we choose to eat here. Apparently the hotel and restaurant plan this together. As such, the prices here are totally inflated so that even with the supposed discount...you are greatly overpaying. Since they have plenty of repeat guests due to the supposed discount, they do not pay any attention to food quality. Tampa Ruth Chris is not as costly and has excellent food quality. This restaurant should lose its franchise.
T-bone steak was spectacular, the best steak I've ever had in a restaurant (and I've been to Sparks NYC, Morton's, Gibson's Chicago, Chicago Chop House, Wolfgang's NYC...). Sides were also excellent, and the service was attentive without being overbearing and quite personable. Probably the most overpriced wine list I've ever seen, also, which is a distinction they probably didn't want to hear but don't really care about since it's a restaurant in a casino. Worth a try; good if you can get a coupon from the hotel for $$ off as we did.
Food was excellent and the service was great! We has the steak and shrimp combo and it was cooked to perfection. The server was attentive and friendly. We shared a salad and it was very good (tomato Mozzarella). I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great dinner. Well worth the expense!
