Great food and great service!!!!!
Ruth steaks are always best around. Hands down. Been to this location before and food did not disappoint. Second Ruth's I have been to in 2 months that changed the Lyonaise Potatoes to wedges. Not fond of new recipe. The usual were perfect. Seared Tuna and Calamari are a must before the steak.
Hostess need a lesson in etiquette. Arrived at 6:10 with Reservations for 6:15 party of 4, she sat a party of 5 with a 6:30 reservation before me and said my wait was 10 min. When asked why she sat them before us she claimed it was a larger party. It was one more than us with a later reservation time. Did not let that ruin my evening.
Ruth's is always on my list of eats every large town I go to. Do not pass it up.
My love had a wonderful time for his birthday ! My first experience at Ruth Chris was the best I would go over and over if possible ! The food was great !!!!! Amazing !!!!!!!!
We were seated out on the patio per our special request. Our table was decorated in Happy Birthday confetti which was very sweet and a thoughtful touch. On the website and on the sign on the way in to the restaurant, I noticed "proper attire required" and that the attire was business casual. When we were seated outdoors, we were seated directly next to a large group of rowdy people in shorts and t-shirts. (I get it....it's downtown and there are tourists who are staying in the hotel so you cut them a break.) What bothered me the most was that some of them were smoking. I know indoor smoking is banned in restaurants and I kind of thought that within 20 feet of a building's entrance (especially a restaurant) it was too, but I was sorely mistaken. We had to breathe in cigarette smoke all night during our dining experience. The $99 steak (porterhouse for 2) and the filet we ordered were not seasoned at all. They were cooked perfectly, but had absolutely no taste. In my opinion, there's no point in a steak that melts in your mouth if it has no flavor. Being a finer dining restaurant, no salt or pepper was provided on the table. The only redeeming thing about the experience was our service. I believe our waitress was named Susan. She was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. I've heard bad things about this location before, but I wanted to give it a chance and try it myself first hand. Next time I'll just go to the Metairie location because I've always loved Ruth's Chris, and this one bad experience won't stop me from being a fan.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio. The service was excellent; the steak cooked perfectly; & the creme brûlée was out of this world!
First time having the seafood tower. Delicious!!
We have eaten here before and had fabulous experiences. This time was disappointing. The service was slow and virtually non-existent. Our medium rare steak came out raw and our waiter told us that looked like “their medium rare”. Shocking since one of our steaks came out right and the other didn’t (both medium rare). Also we ate there before and know what medium rare is. Disappointed that he thought to lie instead of just say - sorry and take it back. They also just “re cooked” the steak we sent back. Not what you expect from “fine dining”. The dessert - apple pie cheesecake - was so incredibly inedible that we left it virtually untouched. Go to the Ruth’s in Metairie and save yourself the disappointment of what is now a sub-par Ruth’s where they no longer know what they are doing and are turning into a tourist trap - not something that is appealing when you are a local.
Best steaks in town cooked to perfection just the way ordered. Great service from our waitress.
Me and wife weekly outing
I really had a great time for Valentine's day there.
We typically visit Ruth’s around two times per year and have always enjoyed it. Our last visit on 2/14 was just not very good. The service was top notch as usual but we found the food to be very subpar. We purchased a gift card for our friends for Christmas and they ate in January and said it was not that good and we were surprised because it was one of our favorite places. On our last visit, the steaks were not seasoned well, our stuffed mushrooms were not cooked all the way, so the mushrooms were still hard and the brussel sprouts were semi-charred and dry. The two lobster tails that came with the filet were very good! Overall, for $170 (no alcohol), we were disappointed, especially compared to previous visits. Not sure what changed, but it seems something has.
Great food and service.
Wonderful service and food as usual!
We have been eating at Ruth-Chris for the last 6 years on MardiGras night with fellow walking club members and this was the first time we have had such bad service. We ordered drinks and they never came, our waitress must have been over booked, she couldn't keep up with her tables, took a long time to get dinner and then desert and coffee ... We had food leftover and asked that it get boxed up, of course every ones food was mixed up in wrong bags. What a mess.... Next year we will be eating at the Chopp House.
severely understaffed for a moderately busy night.
this was 3 visits in a row that I had to send my steak back for being undercooked.
As always Ruth Chris never fails. Impeccable service and the food was cooked to perfection as always. It was a beautiful Mardi Gras weekend dinner!
Horrible, worst experience at a Ruth Chris ever. Were there 45 minutes before I had to ask someone to take a drink order. Never took an appetizer order. never said a word to our table.
Absolutely terrible service.
The service was excellent. The food was ok. The only negative was that I was served a baked potato that looked a week old, hard and dried out. I should have sent it back. I am a big fan of Ruth Chris but this wasn’t my favorite meal.
Service seems to be always lacking in this particular Ruth’s Chris. We walked up at our reservation time and 3 hostesses at the entrance were more interested in completing their conversation about the Mardi Gras parades then simply acknowledging our presence. At least one could have stated “We’ll be right with you” - ignored as if we were not even there. Our server initially was polite and timely, even fetching a different vintage of the wine we wanted. However, as the meal went on and the restaurant started to empty, his focus was more on talking to another waiter and watching TV then checking on our dessert order (which took over 20 mins) and a reminder that we still did not receive it. The food was good, not great. Good cuts of steak, but a little lacking that typical Ruth’s flavor. I think next time I’ll spend my $300 elsewhere.
