steak was a little disapointing. Had a ribeye and there was a lot of gristle. Hard to even cut away. Flavor was great as always with butter and sizzling plate.
It was a very pleasant experience. Joseph always waits on us and he is an excellent waiter. The food is superb and could not be any better. We always go to Ruth Chris for dinner when we are in New Orleans.
We celebrated a birthday, our waiter Joe R. was wonderful!!
We dine here often.
As always, server was respectful and attentive. However the salad and dessert were very slow to table making entree service seem too fast. (This is unusual)
Food taste and quality is exceptional!
Ruth’ s classic pre-fix menu is a great value! This is our favorite restaurant for steaks!
It was FANTASTIC as always!! Crab cakes are full of jumbo lumb meat and my fillet was cooked perfectly not to mention our waitor was AMAZING....Hands down one of my favorite places to eat!! We were running 15 mins late due to a Parade downtown I called to tell we were on our way and the sweet hostess told us not to worry our reservation would still be available when we arrived😁
Excellent service and food will return again would recommend
We were put at a table by the bar that was so loud waiter had to literally yell at us and we could not even hold a conversation. If it weren't for how good the food is I would rate overall experience as a 1. It was not a pleasant evening.
Consistently good service, food, wine list...need I say more?
Loved our experience and meal here! We went two nights in a row it was so great!
We ordered the steak, a few sides and the tomato mozzarella salad is amazing!
Our server was friendly and fun!
The atmosphere was beautiful and romantic or totally briskness dinner appropriate.
My only complaint is the restaurant was freezing cold so ladies bring a sweater or jacket. (I wore a blazer and pants and still froze).
We loved the experience and we look forward to trying other locations.
I’m really sorry this dinner experience, I was with a group of 6 people + another group of 6. I’ve asked to put us together and the manager set up a table outside even if the temperature was cold . I ask for a change but the answer was NO if you feel cold you can stay closer ... NO WAY! How can I accept this answer? I’m sorry because our waitress was really nice and she did her job in a really professional way but the manager was not adapt to his role . The meat was excellent and it was a pity not to be able to enjoy the dinner cause of the cold outside
Went for my son's birthday, his choice. The food is way overpriced. The service was slow and a drink got spilled on my husband. The only bonus were the apps were free and drinks due to the misfortunate service. Our bill was still over $400 despite the bill be adjusted.
It's was good as all Ruth Crist are, but as it got busier the less we saw of the staff, which is unusal for Ruth Crist they normally are always very attentive.
Reservation was at 8:15 and seated at 8:40. Our server was great...however she spilled a martini on his $600 sweater. We were unbothered and accepted the apology, because she was so sweet, attentive and it was an accident. The manager came quickly. We then waited 45 minutes between salads and entrees. My steak was not cooked to order and I didn’t feel like sending it back at that point. I was ready to end the evening. We were extremely disappointed when the bill came and it included the charge for the drink. Something should have been comped especially since we left with a dry cleaning bill in the making. My husband is forgiving and a gentleman. He still tipped $40 (25%) and we left without incident. Overall, not the best experience. We usually frequent the Metairie location and Morton’s for steak. I think we will stick with the less busy sites for faster/on time seating and food preparation turnaround time. Thank you
The wait staff was excellent. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful dinner.
Awesome place for dinner. Excellent atmosphere
Great food and great service!!!!!
Ruth steaks are always best around. Hands down. Been to this location before and food did not disappoint. Second Ruth's I have been to in 2 months that changed the Lyonaise Potatoes to wedges. Not fond of new recipe. The usual were perfect. Seared Tuna and Calamari are a must before the steak.
Hostess need a lesson in etiquette. Arrived at 6:10 with Reservations for 6:15 party of 4, she sat a party of 5 with a 6:30 reservation before me and said my wait was 10 min. When asked why she sat them before us she claimed it was a larger party. It was one more than us with a later reservation time. Did not let that ruin my evening.
Ruth's is always on my list of eats every large town I go to. Do not pass it up.
My love had a wonderful time for his birthday ! My first experience at Ruth Chris was the best I would go over and over if possible ! The food was great !!!!! Amazing !!!!!!!!
We were seated out on the patio per our special request. Our table was decorated in Happy Birthday confetti which was very sweet and a thoughtful touch. On the website and on the sign on the way in to the restaurant, I noticed "proper attire required" and that the attire was business casual. When we were seated outdoors, we were seated directly next to a large group of rowdy people in shorts and t-shirts. (I get it....it's downtown and there are tourists who are staying in the hotel so you cut them a break.) What bothered me the most was that some of them were smoking. I know indoor smoking is banned in restaurants and I kind of thought that within 20 feet of a building's entrance (especially a restaurant) it was too, but I was sorely mistaken. We had to breathe in cigarette smoke all night during our dining experience. The $99 steak (porterhouse for 2) and the filet we ordered were not seasoned at all. They were cooked perfectly, but had absolutely no taste. In my opinion, there's no point in a steak that melts in your mouth if it has no flavor. Being a finer dining restaurant, no salt or pepper was provided on the table. The only redeeming thing about the experience was our service. I believe our waitress was named Susan. She was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. I've heard bad things about this location before, but I wanted to give it a chance and try it myself first hand. Next time I'll just go to the Metairie location because I've always loved Ruth's Chris, and this one bad experience won't stop me from being a fan.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio. The service was excellent; the steak cooked perfectly; & the creme brûlée was out of this world!
First time having the seafood tower. Delicious!!
We have eaten here before and had fabulous experiences. This time was disappointing. The service was slow and virtually non-existent. Our medium rare steak came out raw and our waiter told us that looked like “their medium rare”. Shocking since one of our steaks came out right and the other didn’t (both medium rare). Also we ate there before and know what medium rare is. Disappointed that he thought to lie instead of just say - sorry and take it back. They also just “re cooked” the steak we sent back. Not what you expect from “fine dining”. The dessert - apple pie cheesecake - was so incredibly inedible that we left it virtually untouched. Go to the Ruth’s in Metairie and save yourself the disappointment of what is now a sub-par Ruth’s where they no longer know what they are doing and are turning into a tourist trap - not something that is appealing when you are a local.
Best steaks in town cooked to perfection just the way ordered. Great service from our waitress.
Me and wife weekly outing
I really had a great time for Valentine's day there.
We typically visit Ruth’s around two times per year and have always enjoyed it. Our last visit on 2/14 was just not very good. The service was top notch as usual but we found the food to be very subpar. We purchased a gift card for our friends for Christmas and they ate in January and said it was not that good and we were surprised because it was one of our favorite places. On our last visit, the steaks were not seasoned well, our stuffed mushrooms were not cooked all the way, so the mushrooms were still hard and the brussel sprouts were semi-charred and dry. The two lobster tails that came with the filet were very good! Overall, for $170 (no alcohol), we were disappointed, especially compared to previous visits. Not sure what changed, but it seems something has.
Great food and service.
Wonderful service and food as usual!
We have been eating at Ruth-Chris for the last 6 years on MardiGras night with fellow walking club members and this was the first time we have had such bad service. We ordered drinks and they never came, our waitress must have been over booked, she couldn't keep up with her tables, took a long time to get dinner and then desert and coffee ... We had food leftover and asked that it get boxed up, of course every ones food was mixed up in wrong bags. What a mess.... Next year we will be eating at the Chopp House.
severely understaffed for a moderately busy night.
this was 3 visits in a row that I had to send my steak back for being undercooked.
As always Ruth Chris never fails. Impeccable service and the food was cooked to perfection as always. It was a beautiful Mardi Gras weekend dinner!
Horrible, worst experience at a Ruth Chris ever. Were there 45 minutes before I had to ask someone to take a drink order. Never took an appetizer order. never said a word to our table.
Absolutely terrible service.
The service was excellent. The food was ok. The only negative was that I was served a baked potato that looked a week old, hard and dried out. I should have sent it back. I am a big fan of Ruth Chris but this wasn’t my favorite meal.
Service seems to be always lacking in this particular Ruth’s Chris. We walked up at our reservation time and 3 hostesses at the entrance were more interested in completing their conversation about the Mardi Gras parades then simply acknowledging our presence. At least one could have stated “We’ll be right with you” - ignored as if we were not even there. Our server initially was polite and timely, even fetching a different vintage of the wine we wanted. However, as the meal went on and the restaurant started to empty, his focus was more on talking to another waiter and watching TV then checking on our dessert order (which took over 20 mins) and a reminder that we still did not receive it. The food was good, not great. Good cuts of steak, but a little lacking that typical Ruth’s flavor. I think next time I’ll spend my $300 elsewhere.
My twins 10th Birthday! Love Ruth’s and It was my twins first choice for dinner !
We love the chop salad at Ruth's Chris and usually have great food. Our server was very kind, but we kept having to ask for things, such as bread. He did not come back to check on us for long periods of time. We had to stop other servers for assistance.
As usual it was spectacular! Our food was wonderful! Can't wait to go back!!!
I had a reservation for 8:30p. I showed up at 8:15 with my party and waited until 9:10 to be seated. The waiter was unfriendly. He spilled my drink and didn’t even pick the ice up off my table. He did bring me another and charged me for it. He didn’t keep the table clean. We ran out of bread. Served us on the wrong side... I can go on. It wasn’t a good experience!
Overall we had a great experience (Saturday 3 Feb 2018). The Hostest on duty that day was great! Very patient and accommodating considering our last minute change. Very grateful and happy with the staff, food, and service (Joe our server was great). Would certainly come back on our next visit to NOLA (inside Harrah's)
