Ruth's Chris Steak House - New Orleans Ratings and Reviews
I am a 20 plus year Ruth Chris customer and the one in Metairie is by far the best.....Ruth Chris in Harrsh’s caters to tourist and not so much the locals..... the food was the same but the hostess and greeting committee was terrible.... from the phone call to confirm the reservation to the check in when you arrived was not good.... the greeting was quick, hard to understand and not very personable .... they really need a new face to host the entrance and confirm the reservation. Once seated the service was decent....it is just getting past the phone call and hostess.....
We go to Nola every year around Christmas time and usual go to Ruth Chris at least 1 time while we are in town. This was the first time I have had a problem. We had 6:00 reservations and did not get our table till 6:30, management claimed private parties had them backed up. Then we did not receive the service that we are accustom to, our server was slow and did not check on us very often. Usually they have server back ups but only saw them when they brought out the bread. For over $200 per couples it was definitely disappointing.
I went to Ruth’s with my wonderful wife for our anniversary dinner. We wanted something special and we went to the right place. The service and the food were way beyond our expectations. From the reservation to the desert it was as good as it gets. Thank you for caring enough to be the very best at what you do!!
Took 30 minutes to get our table, mad house post-Saints game. No GM in sight, hostess left to deal with 20-30 irritated customers waiting to be seated. Restaurant needs to be better prepared on high volume nights, and ensure easy check in process for guests at this price point. Once seated, has a great experience, food delicious as always.
Bartender said that the small seafood bouquet was adequate for 2 people & since we were 1 1/2 people each ( 2 out of 3 of us are large people and do need to lose weight) that we should order the large. He oversold us. It was too much. He wasn’t very attentive as well. Dirty & unused plates piled up. The bar top was a mess. Next time I spend $600, I’ll go to Doris.
We were greeted by our waiter right away, but then he disappeared for 25 minutes before taking our order. Then after that, our salads took another 20 minutes to appear. We felt very unimportant and insignificant to this waiter who seemed to be doing a better job paying attention to other larger tables. Very noisy as well.
Place is Amazing!! We were in town for a Saints game and stayed at Harrah's hotel which is were Ruth's Chris is located.
We set at the bar two different days and enjoyed dinner! Drinks were Amazing! Filet was to die for and the help was very friendly! It is a "Must Stop" in New Orleans.
We have been to Ruth’s many times and this time we were very underwhelmed. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we did not get seated until after 8. I ordered A wedge salad with balsamic but was served blue cheese dressing. My friends steak was seriously under cooked considering her order preference. Overall, we were not impressed and may think twice before dinning there again.
Great food, as always! Atmosphere cozy and bar seating is a nice option when the dining room is full. My only complaint would be the hostesses. We were greeted and told we were checked in and it would just be a moment. So we waited, and waited, and waited with no follow up to let us know what was taking so long. After 15 minutes of standing by the hostess station we chose to sit at the bar and order food. Of course as soon as we ordered a drink, the hostess said our table was ready. I don’t mind waiting but I don’t understand why we’re not told to have a seat or have a drink at the bar because our table wasn’t ready. We were under the impression we would be seated momentarily when we arrived and the hostess walked away to check. No one ever mentioned to us it may be a bit longer and to have a seat or grab a drink at the bar while they were preparing our table. A restaurant of this quality should have professional staff greeting and seating guests.
Our waitress was great and our food was perfect.
