My boyfriend and I had just moved to Nashville and we wanted to have a nice night out. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional and our waitress brought out dessert on that house on a plate that said "Welcome to Nashville".

Thanksgiving dinner. The restaurant was packed. We waited 25 minutes past our OT reservation for our table. The dining room was not sufficiently cooled. It was HOT!

Our server Norm was excellent and so was the overall dining room service.

We ordered one thanksgiving dinner and two dinners and appetizers from the regular menu. The food was very good (steak, seafood, bisque) but the dessert served with the thanksgiving was a huge disappointment. The only dessert offered tasted horrible. Bland would be a compliment.

The cons: the wait for our table, the dining room temperature, and the dessert - which was our final service and our takeaway memory.

When think of Ruth's Chris Steak House as a place to go for great steaks, this one is approaching Decent-Marginal. The décor (carpet & bar) needs a major update. Other than our table server, I don't think we saw a single smile during our visit. The bar seemed to be so "busy" that we waited at least 5 minutes before we were acknowledged after sitting down. But the major pet peeve of mine was when we arrived at the Hostess Stand, checked in with our reservation, and asked what we could do with our winter coats, I was told they I could just hang them on a coat rack right behind the Hostess Stand. May not seem much, but when we are dressing up to go out to a prime steakhouse, such as RC, and prepared to spend the kind of money that we did, one would think a little courtesy would be in order and that one of the 3 people standing around behind the Hostess Stand would have offered to take our coats.
So, as a review...great food...dated & dingy décor...service staff that needs some reason to be at work & a little more attention given to the patrons.

Didn’t receive a “warm” welcome from the front desk. The waiter Tony seemed very agitated the entire time he was working with us and kept walking away to other tables while we were ordering. Towards the end of the dinner I was asked by the hostess from front desk to move my kid to the other side of the table to ensure the lady next to us had enough room to “move”. This is the second time in a row this place has horribly missed the mark. I’m not sure if I’ll be going back. There are too many nice places with good service close by.

Ruth Chris in Nashville has lost their way in the past few years. They now have the blinds open at street-basement level, bright lights you’d find in a Golden Corral and an empty restaurant. The food is still. It’s just the ambiance and charm is gone! Sad!

What a disappointing dining experience! For a high end restaurant, we expected impeccable service as well as food. Unfortunately, neither happened. The cocktail order took forever and cocktails were served after the salad was served. It took more than 40 minutes to get drinks! Part of the wine order was incorrect. There was a salad ordered and not served. And then the entree orders took forever and one of the steaks was not cooked as requested. The manager acknowledged our dissatisfaction and offered complimentary desserts. The order for the desserts also took forever, as well as the processing of our payments.. The entire process took over 2-1/2 hours and was very frustrating to all of us, especially when our expectations were of much higher standards. How could we ever return to or recommend Ruth Chris after an experience such as this?!?!

The waiter was trying and be nice but did not know much about doing his job. Not what one expects at a 5 star restaurant!!!! He should not be allowed to wait on tables until he is trained.

The worst ever dining experience at Ruth’s Chris. I used to dine at it as the best ever steak house in USA, but now I will never go back to another one. Very disappointing indeed.

Manager is inexperienced, and did not really address our concerns! She just thought by offering us free dessert that she solved the problem. The issue is that we sat there fir another hour waiting on dessert and then waited for the bill fir ever and she never once came back and said anything. Not the way a manager should behave.

Too bad indeed!

I had been wanting to go to Ruth Chris steakhouse for awhile but the wait wasn't worth it. The poor experience started before we got seated. Even though we made a reservation, the hostess skipped us several times (groups of same size) and only after we complained did we get seated with no apology. The area we were seated was extremely loud due to a group of about 20 guys on a bachelor party. Groups this large should have a separate room. Our waiter was nice but lacked training. He didnt take our drink order until he took our drink order. We didnt get our drinks until after our salads and only after we asked about them. My wife's steak was over cooked which they replaced (no apology). Our waiter left dirty dishes, empty beer bottles, and wine glasses on the table throughout the meal. The food was really good but the poor service and ambiance make for an overpriced experience. When you pay those prices you have higher expectations. Severely disappointed.

Ruth Chris is very dependable to deliver a very good and consistent meal on each visit. We did not like our assigned table due to a large noisy group being seated in the same area. The staff worked hard and got us a better table in the main dining area. It was our anniversary and we really appreciated the better table. Thanks to Ruth Chris.

We have visited Ruth Chris in the past but we have never experienced such a horrible experience as we did this time. We were there for almost three hours for a dinner for THREE. We asked several difference people for another beer and never got one and the response was the bar was backed up. We looked at the bar and I could’ve managed it myself. It wasn’t that busy. Ray, our waiter spent most of his time somewhere else. He rushed us to order and his attention was absent the entire meal. Our table was half cleared after our appetizers and left on a tray next to our table until the manager had to ask someone to move it. The manager picked up our drinks on our meal and gave us his card to notify them before we come to visit the next time so that they could ensure Our visit was an enjoyable one. I thought that ever time should be that wY at this type of establishment not just when we call ahead to give them fair warning. We will not be back at this Ruth Chris nashville. Jeff Rubys from now on.

I had visitors from Rome,Italy and they wanted steak - so I selected Ruth’s Chris over Kayne Prime, Morton’s, Fleming’s etc. reservation was 9:30 and the table wasn’t ready even though the restaurant was about half full. So we sat at the bar for 15 minutes and received a wine list but no one came back to take the order.

We proceeded to the table and the server didn’t present himself for 15 more minutes. We ordered wine and meals together, assuming the service was going to be weak as it is already been demonstrated to be.

My Italian guest asked the bus person if he could check on our meals after we had waited over 20 minutes. That was embarrassing.

Food was fine, but Just a weak performance all around. For a $300 tab for 3 people, it’s not fair at all. I didn’t want to make a big deal with the manager in front of my guests.

Sorry people - I am not very difficult to please when surrounded by friends and with a glass of wine, but this was unacceptable. And I thought I would impress my Roman guests - that blew up in my face

I don't write reviews very often, but feel this experience at Ruth's Chris in Nashville, TN did not live up to the RC standard I know and expect. We've been to many Ruth's Chris' all over the country for many decades, starting with the original in New Orleans. Many times when we're traveling and want to have a special dinner we chose Ruth's Chris. That said, we know what to expect when visiting a Ruth's Chris. Our dinner at Ruth's Chris in Nashville did not live up to our expectations. Let's start with the good. Appetizer of stuffed mushrooms were excellent, the steaks were cooked to order and all very good, as well as the sweet potato casserole. The restaurant ambiance was very good and our server was friendly. Now to the things that were well below our RC expectations and experiences. We (2) harvest salads and we were splitting them amongst 4 of us. 3 of us requested cheddar cheese instead of the goat cheese that is normally part of this salad. They split the salads at the table but these were very small salads. you could hardly find any of the toppings (Corn, dried cherries and pecans). one salad had most of the dressing and the other hardly any. My 1st thought based on the size of the salads was we should have ordered (4) salads. After eating the salad and see the lack of ingredients I was glad we only ordered (2). RC would not substitute the goats cheese for cheddar and instead brought sides of cheese to the table which would have been fine but they only brought cheddar to 2 of the 3 of us and brought blue cheese, not goat cheese to the other. Wen our steaks and sides were delivered we did not receive and side plates for our sides. Our drinks were all empty for well over 10 minutes waiting for someone to help us refill. Our table remained cluttered and dirty for an extended period of time while we waited for our server after dinner. This was not the RC experience we've come to expect and I would not recommend this location to anyone.
