Ruth's Chris Steak House - Myrtle Beach Ratings and Reviews
We came to Ruth’s Chris Steak House for restaurant week. We had a seat by the window, and enjoyed the water view. We had a wonderful server, Denise. She suggested a wine that we loved. We had the Restaurant Week special, and both had the petite filet, which was mouthwatering delish and served on a sizzling platter. We added to the RW menu, enjoying crab cakes for an app, dipping sauces for the steak, and French press coffee with dessert. The bread pudding with whisky sauce was also tasty. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and plan a repeat visit soon.
The food was excellent but the service was very poor. The waitress was almost nonexistent for the evening. We had to wait almost 45 minutes after our meal to get the bill to pay. We had to ask another waiter to get our waitress. The food was great but the service was Applebee’s waitstaff. Very disappointed in service.
After wanting to eat here for literally years and saving up the money to go ... I was so disappointed ... first I must say that our waiter Ryan was awesome! Knew the menu and made great suggestions! At a place that prides itself on steak - it was so disappointing to get a steak that was severely undercooked ... the scallops were also undercooked ... we ordered both of our steaks medium and one came out almost well done and the other was very rare ... we did not complain though and ate the steak that was over ... and brought the other steak home and cooked and ate it the next day...
We were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday which does fall on New Years Eve. We had a nice young Man introduce himself as our server but he never checked on our table without me having to motion him over. Steaks were full of grissle. Took an hour to get appetizers. Another 45 minutes to get salads finally a full hour for entrees that were disappointing.
We were seated right away with no wait. Please keep in mind it was New Year's Eve and the restaurant was very busy. The side dishes tasted very good, but they were warm, not hot, when served.
The wait person's assistant spilled a pitcher of water over my shoulder, soaking my pants along with the sport coat I was wearing. The table cloth was wet and my menu had to be replaced. Overall, the service was a little off, but like I said, it was New Year's eve.
Ruth's Chris is world renowned, but this visit was a bit disappointing. Steaks were cooked to perfection, but the sides needed some attention. Ordered the Lobster Mac N Cheese and put individual portions on our side plates. The first bite was ice cold. Cheese wasn't even melted in the middle. After mentioning it, the server took the main dish back to the kitchen to "reheat" it, while our individual portions remained. The creamed spinach was lukewarm. In my opinion, the server should have taken the lobster mac n cheese back to the kitchen and had the kitchen prepare a whole new one, no questions asked. Especially when the meal was $400!
The Myrtle Beach Ruth's Chris is one of my favorite locations to enjoy the Ruth's Chris experience. The location is out of the main stream of traffic and activity which lends to the relaxed surroundings. I have always received excellent service every time I have visited this location over the years. We always make this one of our places to go when visiting Myrtle Beach. The food always meets the high standards set by Ruth's Chris.
This is Myrtle Beach. Our family went for a nice meal and there were obvious out of towners with cutoff sweatshirts on when you walk in. Not the atmosphere you were going for but, it is MB. Food and service was great but nothing special to the building and/or view. The cost was very high and too high for the ambiance and lack of view.
We liked the Au Gratin potatoes. We thought the steak would be a big sizzling presentation, but not so. We tried to order a Bottle of wine, but we were quickly guided to bottles that were way more expensive so we settled for a glass of average wine. The dining room was packed and loud. It would be nice if they had seating for couples with less commotion. It looked like a good place for large groups to gather.
A little underwhelmed by this restaurant's performance. Lamb chops were very good but my dining companion said that her filet mignon had a line of gristle in it. Seems like only known locals were given careful service, and it looked like the asparagus was just tossed on the plate. Nothing out of the ordinary at this usually very fine chain. When I told our waiter that we were celebrating a birthday she brought 2 small cupcake rounds with a tiny dollop of whipped cream , placed in a box inside a paper bag, and placed it down next to the check. We then paid and departed. Not one thanks from anyone.
Hostess sat us next to a table with three adults and three children. I realize that children can be a handful sometimes, but things were way out of hand. Parents did not correct the bad behavior nor did they tell the children to stop the yelling and bickering going on. They just ordered more cocktails. Sorry but when you spend 160.00 for a meal, I would like to enjoy it.
P.S. the young man was throwing food at the Christmas tree behind. Us to see how many ornaments he could knock off the tree.
We were camping here for Christmas two years ago and decided to splurge for meal on Christmas day. It was probably the best steak I've ever had, I'm 65 years old. This last visit was the opposite. My t bone was not only over cooked it was apparently soaked in salt. My wife and daughter had different steaks plates but the salt issue. I always have heard you guys were the best but someone in the kitchen blew it big time.
This was our first time dining at Ruth's Chris and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We were sat at a perfect table for two and received great service all evening. The barbeque shrimp were delicious. We shared a wedge salad, which had amazing blue cheese dressing! The steaks were perfectly cooked! Make sure and save room for the bread pudding...it was delicious! Had a great time and we will be back!
My son and I stopped in for the Swizzle and Sizzle in the bar area from 4-6:30. Fun! Drinks were fairly priced and the menu had a nice variety. I prefer small plates and my son is gluten-free. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Can’t wait to go back with friends. Thank you!
