Ruth's Chris Steak House - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
Once gain, the food was excellent, the service by our service professional, Ben, was excellent, and the table location and ability to converse was outstanding. Truly the experience that keeps a repeat customer and ensures their recommendation to friends and business associates.
I was in town for the Super Bowl with my 13 year old daughter. I am a 54 year old professional male. On Saturday night, we missed meeting friends at Capital Grille, I saw Ruth's Chris and popped in to ask if there was any chance for a table for two. Both persons at the front desk looked at us and said, oh, there is no chance and it's a 3 hour wait. It was 5:30. They directed us to the mall. I stopped for coffee and said, let me check Open Table and a 5:45 reservation appeared. I went back to Ruth's Chris and told them and they said, "oh, someone must have just cancelled". Of course that wasn't true. I am a regular on Open Table and also of Middle Eastern descent. This was absolutely a discriminatory act and if my daughter was not with me, I would have made it an issue. My experience in Minnesota was incredibly positive and the people were wonderful, except for these two at the front reservations desk on Saturday night of Super Bowl weekend. Disgraceful.
Wonderful! From the very start, a great dining experience. The atmosphere, service, food, cocktails and wines were on point! I have had the opportunity to dine at multiple Ruth Chris locations across the U.S.. One thing I have noticed is that all Ruth Chris Restaurants are not created equal and this location distinguishes itself from its peers by carefully managing the dining experience and obviously caring a whole lot about food: taste, texture, presentation ( the food was crazy good and beautifully presented.) If you are in the Minneapolis area and looking for a great dining experience, I would recommend this Ruth Chris Location (920 2nd Ave S).
Had a great dinner with a friend after enjoying the Nicollet Mall superbowl experience and enjoyed fabulous steaks and ahi tuna appetizer. Service was great. Only disappointment (a slight one) was we were seated in the back room and would have prefered the main dining room for some people watching!
My wife and I were celebrating our 37th Anniversary and it has been awhile since we were at Ruth's Chris, and boy did we miss it. Great food, and our server was very pleasant, he even brought us a wonderful desert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. I posted a picture of that on facebook and had quite a few responses asking how good is it. Needless to say I gave rave reviews. Your chefs know how too make a steak to perfection. The lobster tail with warm butter was a great addition. Definitely will be back soon.
Food was great, wait staff was great, our main server had a bit of a attitude when we asked for condiments for my wife's shrimp and we should not have to use anything on our meat, I feel that we should be able to make that choice. I really thought the steak, shrimp & lobster were
prepared perfect. We were surprised by the serious comment in a upscale restaurant, never had that happen before in Minneapolis. To this day we still question it.
A perfect night out with my husband! We love dining here because the food and service is always top notch! Our server, Jesse, was so helpful as we made our selections. Everything we ordered was delicious! And the valet parking right next door is a huge plus when it's below zero in MN!
Time after time, Ruth's Chris in Minneapolis delivers, whether business lunch or special occasion evening dinner. Truly appreciate the consistency in service and quality. For this occasion, my guest and I were served by Ben, who did an outstanding job of making sure we had what we needed, ordered in a timely manner to meet time constraints, and managed our evening precisely to the moment we left, all in a calm, comfortable no-rush tone that was never intrusive. Bravo.
Overall decor was very nice but the entire place was very cold. The waiting area/ coat room area must have been 50 degrees at best. The dinning area was maybe 60 degrees. Several people were eating with their coats on. As for the food quality, the mashed potatoes were soupy enough to drink through a straw. And my 22 ounce bone in Ribeye was maybe 16 ounces of meat, the waitress suggested that for a slight pink it should be ordered medium well. The steak was at least well done, brown and burnt on the outside. The broccoli was cold, hard, and completely dry. Not a hint of garlic butter or any type of seasoning. My dates lamb chops and appetizer was to her liking. Along with two glasses of wine the bill came to $180. Which I fell was way overpriced for quality that wasn’t much better than Outback. Michael Jordan’s steakhouse in Chicago was twice as good and roughly $60 dollars cheaper as I recall. I was not impressed in any way with the food.
Excellent food and service. Definitely recommend trying. Expensive so be prepared, but definitely worth it. Bone-In Ribeye and Lamb Chops were both excellent. Also tried their version of a Sidecar drink and it was very good and fresh! The service was excellent.
The small seafood tower was a definite splurge for my husband and I, and well worth it. The lobster, two types of crab, and shrimp were all wonderful. For our main, we had the tomahawk steak and all I can say is WOW. I wouldn’t go more rare than medium if you don’t want it too red. The outer edge was more medium well and the meat near the bone was closer to medium rare, but the flavor was amazing on all of it. Our sides of Cremini mushrooms were a hit but the asparagus was a bit of a miss. Dessert was the simple berries and cream. We would have ordered two had we known how fantastic it was.
This is our go-to spot for special occasions and we were celebrating my grandson's birthday. Our food was excellent but this particular night the service was slow and inattentive and the restaurant wasn't super busy. We'll be back but we will hope for better service.
