Ruth's Chris Steak House - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
Everything was wonderful other than the seating. I had indicated on the reservation that
it was a special 70th Birthday. Upon arrival we were seated right next to the busy traffic
on a little table for two coming out of the kitchen. In other words, as soon as they saw it
was two women, we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant. It immediately
put a bad taste in my mouth for the entire evening. I mean REALLY!!!!! We spent $150
at the restaurant just like any other attendees.
The Good - Waitress was awesome - The ambiance was perfect - The music was low, muted - pleasant, everything was elegant. I walked in and fell in love with the place.
The Bad -
EXPENSIVE! The steaks were good but were they $60 ea. good, no. Wife and I went with a $100 gift card that we were given. Even with that our bill was $150 (that's ON TOP of the gift card). With a 20% tip that means our dinner was just shy $300. I wish I could say we had wine and/or champagne but we each had one cocktail and split a third. Everything is ala carte - we ordered the hash browns to split. We had one appetizer and one side. That's just too rich for my blood for a meal for two.
The service was amazing and the special attention they gave to our group was special from the moment we arrived !! The bad part was thAt two of our groups steaks were made wrong and had to be recooked . They did make it right and the manager came over to say sorry. Overall it was a special evening
I made reservations for our 26th anniversary tow or three weeks ago and when we arrived, we were seated in an overflow seating area, this was not acceptable as it was noisy, bright and not what I've ever experienced at this restaurant. We were able to get moved into the main dining room but then had to wait for 30 minutes until our drinks arrived. At his point, our server Jesse basically saved our night as I was ready to walk out. He apologized, was upfront and explained what happened and made sure the rest of the evening went fantastic. he comped our first round of drinks and made sure we received a anniversary themed dessert. The food, as always, was good. We've been coming here for years so it was disappointing how the evening started. There are many fine dining options in Minneapolis so experience is key.
This was our first time dining there. We heard it was famous and well known. I expected a delicious steak instead my well done steak was burnt and tasteless. I didn't expect to use steak sauce at a place like this. I enjoyed the salad and the service was good. We spent a lot of money for what we got.
Good food and service. Me and my husband went for a Saturday dinner after a long week at work. We got asked by several staff 5 times if we were celebrating our Anniversary that night. We were not even dressed fancy for them to think that we are celebrating an occasion. We had a good laugh about it joking to each other that maybe we look like we can only afford to dine there only on special occasions. Being asked 5 times felt weird at the end of the night. I would indicate in my reservation info if I am going to a place to celebrate an event at the time I would book for dinner.
Highly Recommended for Amazing Food and Service. Have enjoyed food at Ruth's Chris for special occasions such as a Birthday or an Anniversary and have loved every minute we are there. However, this time our party of 6 went to Ruth's Chris to experience restaurant week (7:45pm on Friday October 20)and we were not disappointed. The menu consisting of your choice of Steak, Salmon, or Chicken allowed for everyone to find something to eat, but more importantly everyone agreed that the food was excellent and tasted just as good as if were not prepared for restaurant week. My wife commented that her steak was tender and juicy. My Salmon was tasty (topped with shrimp & crab cake) was absolutely delicious. And a friends who ordered the Chicken were also extremely happy with their choice as the chicken was big, flavorful and moist. The presentation of each of the meals was amazing. And Finally, I have to give props to our wait staff. The two people providing service to our table (Monique and her male assistant) were very exceptional. Both of these staff were professional, friendly, and attentive as ever. We will definitely be back.
We've been to Ruth's Chris a few times and have never been disappointed, so we decided to return for Restaurant Week. As usual, Ruth's provided excellent, mouth-watering food from the first bite of appetizer to the last of dessert. Service (we had Mary as our wait staff) was excellent and attentive with great recommendations! We will definitely be returning in the future.
Simply impeccable food and service. Heidi was perfect in every manner. Incredibly expense. A bourbon old-fashioned was $11. My bone-in filet 16 oz was $65. But gosh, it was awesome! A meal to be remembered. They also have a pre-fixe dinner option as well. Go - you won't be disappointed.
We had all been there before and had a nice experience. This time there was mix ups with the food and service was slow. One person finished her meal before her side was delivered. She had asked about getting it 2 or 3 times. I ordered my steak rare with no butter and it was delivered well done. When they went back to fix it then it was rare but with butter. I had finished my side before my meal arrived. This is ok at a regular restaurant as everyone has off days but not ok when you are spending that kind of money for a special occasion meal. None of us would return back.
We've been to Ruth's Chris many times. This was the first time we felt the food was just average. We had the fried lobster ap. Flavors were good, but it was a very messy dish. Crab cakes were really fishy and frankly not tasty. The steak was pretty good as were the brussel sprout; neither were excellent. The only things that didn't disappoint was the lobster bisque and our server Sheena.
