Ruth's Chris Steak House - Metairie Ratings and Reviews
Good, not great. VERY expensive even for a steakhouse. I had a gift card, so that's why I went to this restaurant. The kids meal was a pretty good deal, as the portions were large & it came with desert. I will go back if someone gives me another gift card- but there are far better restaurants for the price.
Quickly seated, good wine selections, menu choices were a good variety. I tried all the dishes that were ordered at our table and every thing was amazing. The filet was so tender and cooked perfectly, my sea bass was so flaky and flavorful and the butter shrimp with potatoes was extremely flavorful. It was a great way to end a girls trip in New Orleans.
Had time constraints that we alerted the staff about as we were seated (which was 15 minutes past reservation). Unfortunately they did not meet our timing requiring dessert to be bagged to go. Our entrees arrived 10 minutes before our timed departure. I know they can do better!
Have eaten at Ruth's Chris steakhouses in other locations. The meal was very good for the most part. The barbecue shrimp appetizer was especially memorable and the sauce is great for dipping after the shrimp is gone. Really nice service. We were a late reservation and they took good care of us at the end of the service night.
I always love Ruth’s Chris. I’ve been to a few steak houses in town (Mr. John’s, Doris Metropolitan). The steak is honestly a close second to Doris and was far and away better than Mr. John’s. The steaks are well-trimmed, perfectly cooked, and let’s be honest- you can’t go wrong with the sizzling plate with butter. Sides are always great and we really enjoyed our cocktails. Can’t wait to go back!
We came here tonight to celebrate my son's 25th birthday. The steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster mac and cheese? Wow! A huge table sized serving of bubbly, creamy deliciousness! The lobster bisque was fabulous as well. The service was great. They decorated the table with Birthday confetti and served a complimentary dessert with a candle. It was a great evening.
Ambiance is great as always. Todays visit we had a very kind and sweet server, however, she was very slow for the entire meal (almost 2 hours for lunch). It was not busy at all, we could not figure out why everything was so slow. I had the filet medium rare and felt it was a little dry considering how i eat my steaks. The lobster bisque seemed like someone cooked the roux too long and slightly burned it (weve had it before and it wasnt like that, who knows maybe its supoosed to be that way). Rest of the meal was fantastic.
Service was excellent; we were not rushed. Food was very good with the exception of a 12-ounce ribeye, which was a little tough and had plenty of gristle. All other dishes were fine. The majority of patrons were very casually dressed: T-shirts and cargo shorts for several male guests.
