Ruth's Chris Steak House - Louisville

Ruth Chris is a great chain restaurant and seems to be reliable for a good steak and sides! It is not the best in town but always very good! Service was excellent here and I do think they have a great wine list and great wines by the glass!

My twin son’s 18th birthdays. I was asked when called to confirm my reservation if there was a special occasion. I said yes, my twin son’s birthdays. I assumed they were going to offer my sons a complementary birthday dessert, but unfortunately that did not happen. Food was very good and the service as well. My bill for six people with only 4 alcoholic drinks including tip was $564.00

Probably the Best steaks We’ve ever had. Wife and can’t wait to go back again. Took my wife for her birthday and everything was very good. Friendly staff good experience.

18th birthday for my granddaughter... we had 9 3 in a booth & 6 at the table. It worked out fine & everyone loved their food. Very nice celebration.

Food was very good but Christopher makes your dining experience the best it can possibly be.

Christopher was by the best server we have had at Ruth's Chris. The food was fabulous and we had an exceptional diner. Christopher recommended the lobster mac and cheese and it was wonderful. He was so engaging and from food to drink recommendations, he was spot on!

First of all Ruth's Chris is one of our favorites. We had the opportunity of sit in the bar area so we could watch the games. Everyone that works in this area is so outgoing and they make you feel right at home. Garth was our waiter and he is and always is, amazing. He recommended the seafood tower as part of our entree and it was the perfect choice. We enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet and a chopped salad. Everything was delicious!!! We definitely will be back, hopefully very soon.

The staff was excellent. Very friendly and professional. We ordered the surf & turf which came with an 11oz filet and two lobster tails and au gratin potatoes. The filet was ordered med but was served rare so we had to send it back so when it came back was tougher than we’d like. My only other complaint/suggestion was that the server did not offer to take the lobster tail out of the shell for us as they do at most other high-end restaurants.

Food was prepared perfectly and our server, Christopher, was phenomenal.

Pretty disappointed overall with this visit. To start, why are 7 out of 8 appetizers at a steakhouse seafood based? Next, sides were OK, nothing special though. Our waitress disappeared for 20 minute stretches at a time. I was frequently out of Bourbon and water. They put water carafes on the table as standard procedure, but evidently don't just refill them but instead replace them. In our case we couldn't get another b/c "they haven't cleaned them in the back". Lastly our steaks were pretty sloppily done. My strip was cooked a nice medium rare. Probably a little closer to medium but I'm nit picking at this point. Our table also had a medium filet which was slightly overcooked but the exterior crust on it was just burned in places. Tasted like charcoal. We had a medium rare rib-eye that was the same way. Deserts were OK. The chocolate cake was excellent. The creme-brulee was fine but forgettable, and the cheesecake was good but the crust was way too thick. Overall, I was disappointed in my almost $400 meal for 3 people that included 2 appetizers, 3 sides, and 2 alcoholic beverages. I don't visit fancy steakhouses every weekend, but I'll certainly be returning to Pat's and Jeff Ruby's before I come back here. Eager to try the new Steak-Bourbon also, it sounds right up my alley.

Our experience at Ruth’s Chris is always wonderful. The service is beyond spectacular, the food is mouthwatering (especially the filet), and we always have a great time. It was raining so the view wasn’t great this time but didn’t ruin the experience. And it was my birthday celebration so they made it extra special.

We were completely disappointed with this experience. We eat at RC a few times a year. This time, the food was okay at best. The steaks were good but we have definitely had better. I had to send back my side dish because it was delivered cold. The service was so so. Plates were stacking on the table because the server would rarely come by to remove empty plates. There was a loud, random banging noise. Just not a great experience. We went to Stoney River maybe 2 weeks prior and it was far better.

Lobster Macaroni came out not hot as well as the garlic mashed potatoes

We celebrate Christmas Eve at Ruth's Chris almost every year. The food is always outstanding but his year, our server, Christopher, made our experience memorable. His service was attentive but unobtrusive. He made recommend excellent drinks and food for us to try. Christopher didn't make us feel rushed but instead, allowed us to eat, drink, and enjoy our meal. We're looking forward to celebrating with him as our server next year!

Excellent as always. Terribly overpriced but still excellent. I got the meal(forgot it’s French name. Got the filet and crab. The crab was not very good so I switched to shrimp with the filet, waiter was excellent.

I requested a window seat and even though there were plenty of those tables available, we were not given one.

We love Ruth’s Chris! The remodel is beautiful. The service outstanding. We had one steak that wasn’t the best but it rarely happens. It’s our favorite restaurant!

Went to celebrate my son’s birthday. They had confetti on the table for him and brought him dessert. Staff was attentive, food was great and my 9 year old said it’s the best steak he’s ever had

Very nice ambience. Very polite and nice staff. A very nice place to celebrate a special occasion.

Steaks were amazing. Service was subpar. Waited 5-10 mins to be greated by server. Was seated for 15-20 before we had water. Couple other server issues. Dan (manager) took care of us. Based on steak quality, atmosphere, and Dan, we will be back and give it another chance.

An awesome dining experience every time. Celebrating our anniversary and everyone was welcoming and genuine.

Food was amazing!

The food is normally excellent but tonight it was just average. The restroom was a disgrace and had a horrible smell which made it even harder to enjoy my meal.

Porterhouse first 2 best thing for a date night! Baked potato, augratin potato’s, and house salad.

We have been there many times but this experience was great. Wonderful food which is typical of Ruth Chris but the service was exceptional.

In the time when we are all concerned about COVID 19 this was by far the restaurant that’s attention to detail made us feel exceptionally comfortable during there trying times.

Steak was not as good as usual. Baked potato was cold.

We arrived 20 min early to enjoy a drink. We agreed to be seated even though we asked to have a drink during happy hour at the bar/observation desk. We felt very rushed and pushed. We didn’t feel as though we could enjoy our meal. My husband ordered medium rare filet with blue cheese crusted complement. My daughter ordered a filet medium temp. When the plates arrived my husband got my daughter’s medium filet with blue cheese complement and my daughter received my husband’s medium rare filet. We made the switch and she dipped hers in Ketchup to help mask the blue cheese even though we scraped it off to put it on my husband’s filet. It was still a bit much for a 12 yo. I got salmon and it was so dry I had to send it back. It came out again after my family was done with their meals. I didn’t even take a bite so I had them wrap it up to go home. They did bring out cheesecake for both of my girls as their birthday treat, which was very nice, but most kids don’t like cheesecake. A $300+ meal that was no where worth that amount. The waiter was nice and tried hard but rushed us the entire meal. We won’t be back.

I had a lovely time, kids were very noisy! But other than that the service and food was amazing.
