Ruth's Chris Steak House - Kennesaw Ratings and Reviews
Food was at or below par. Steaks were average, chicken and dessert with overcooked and dry. Service started out good and then fell off affer our entrees were served. Server had to be reminded about more bread. He was not around table for some time and then desserts took 15-20 minutes to arrive at table and coffee did not arrive. Server did not check back and coffee never came. We waited forever for our check. When he was told about coffee, he brought it out on the house 15 minutes after we finished our awful dessert. We just wanted our check at that point. Dinner and tip was $380 for 5 people and not worth $150. We had a much better meal and exceptional service in August. It has dropped off in quality of meat and service. Disappointed!!
Absolutely wonderful dining experience from a prompt and friendly greeting when we entered, quick seating, and a very attentive staff, there was nothing I would ask be changed.
Both filet was cooked perfectly, one medium, one medium rare. Temp was prefect.
Potatoes au gratin and grilled asparagus were excellent and a decent portion size for two people.
Crème brûlée was a beautiful presentation with wonderful fresh berries.
Excellent friendly service team!
So let me start out by saying this: Apparently everyone who works at Ruth's Chris is trained to say things like "Oh have you ever had a Ruth's Chris steak before?" "Have you ever been to Ruth's Chris before?" "The Ruth's Chris Steaks are the best." "Ruth's Chris Ruth's Chris Ruth's Chris..." So they get an A+ for brand dissemination. Our server was often away from the floor, our dining experience without dessert was 2.5 hours, and I liked how they told OpenTable I didn't show up for the reservation.
For what it is worth, I have been to Ruth's Chris, eaten a Ruth's Chris Steak at another Ruth's Chris. I don't know why I went again - like before, it was a decent cut of filet, but just steak and lots of oily butter (And they'll tell you that's all you need). I thought the food lacked any high end feel and coupling that with the service (or lack thereof) I would not recommend.
You go to Ruths Chris for steak-right?
Two tries at a NY Strip and both poor cuts. Rest of the food very average.
Dine and entertain at steak houses across the country about once a month and RC now off the list.
I'm afraid they've gone the way of Sheila's.
Let me preface by saying the I have eaten at 38 different Ruths Chris around the country. RC is usually my restaurant of choice to entertain. This experience was absolutely the worst I have ever had. There were plenty of open tables, but the wait staff were slow and very inattentive. We had empty water glasses and food took forever. 2 other tables that came after us finished before us. When our food came the plate was not sizzling and our sides were cold. Also my steak was prepared wrong, but no one cared to ask. I definately do not recommend this location.
we are normally Ruth's Chris devotees and fans of this particular location. However, on this visit the meat was not to the normal standards of a Ruth's Chris ! Two of our party had the filet and two had the ribeye. Both cuts were grainy and difficult to eat with no flavor ! Terrible disappointment for a $300 meal !
The service, however, was excellent. Mindy and her assistants made the evening quite pleasant from a service standpoint.
Ruth's Chris went through a time several years back where they tried to improve bottom line by serving a lower cut of meat. Let's hope that's not happening again and this was an anomaly. We will go back once more to see.
I cannot say enough good things about our visit to Ruth's Chris. My 9-year old son decided to put a suit on and take his mom out to dinner and wanted to go somewhere nice so he chose Ruth's Chris. The whole staff was wonderful with him...they addressed him and made him feel so special and like a grown up (even the manager checked on him!). The food was outstanding, and we are forever fans of this restaurant.
I was really looking forward to this dinner for both my and my son's birthday, for him his 21st birthday. From the moment we arrived, it did not feel like a Ruth's Chris. Despite making a reservation, the hostess said "Let me see if we have a table". Uh, I think that was what the reservation was supposed to ensure, said I to the manager. He said she misspoke, she was just going to make sure the table was all prepared for us. So, bad scripting.
When we ordered, the first thing out of my mouth was "No butter on the steak" (since RC usually cooks their steaks in butter). When i asked if i could substitute one side for another, i was told "No". this is a prix fixe dinner, we can't. Now, one could substitute another dessert for an upcharge, or a larger steak for an upcharge. But not a side? Where's the logic? Not to mention, in a restaurant of this caliber, or any for that matter, a flat NO should never be uttered.
So the salads come. The Caesar is served with a large wedge of Romaine. Not my preference for presentation, but that's a minor item.
On to the steaks, which we all ordered. Take a taste, and of course, swimming in butter, which i could readily taste. "Oh, we are so sorry, we'll get you another asap" My son and wife finish their dinner by time mine arrives, and what is easily noticeable on top of the steak? Yes, a large pat of butter, which the manager noticed as he approached the table. At this point, i was no longer hungry, so i left having had salad and sweet potato casserole for dinner. My dinner was comped, but at that point it was ruined for all of us. To ensure a possible return at a later date, I would have offered us a significant gift card for Ruth's Chris.
I have eaten at many Ruth's Chris over the years; they are my "go-to" for a special occasion steak dinner. But this location? Felt like a side hall in a hotel, which it is. No ambiance, no rest room of its own. Unpolished staff.
All in all, a most UN Ruth's Chris experience.
I was so excited for this meal! I had been before and was taking my girlfriend for our anniversary and her first time at a Ruths Chris. Overall it was good. The server was nice although he didn't explain some of the items very well. Anyway, the food was good but I was a disappointed. People pay alot of money for their meals here and I was under the impression I was going to receive a sizzling plate and a nice hot steak. The steak was warm. Afterwards my girlfriend admitted she was a put off that the food wasnt hotter. It was a let down.
The best part was the cheesecake hands down.
