Ruth's Chris Steak House - DoubleTree Jacksonville Ratings and Reviews
The evening was wonderful. Les, our server was great! He has a wonderful personality, wasn’t at our table more than needed, the food was wonderful! I’m not a steak person but I tried my husbands and it busted melted in my mouth! It was insanely delicious! Les took some pictures for us inside and outside, which was nice of him! It was quiet inside as well which is nice. Some restaurants are so busy and it’s so loud, you can’t hear yourselves, so it was nice to have a concert where we weren’t screaming at each other! We’ll definitely be back!
Service and ambiance were amazing! The food was ok. I had the Blue Crab cakes ($38) and they were very good. My son had the BBQ Shrimp ($36) which was more like an Seafood Bisque sauce overloaded onto some mash potatoes with shrimp. No BBQ flavor at all. My son only ate the shrimp. The other two entrees we received we 2 Filets ($44/each) both Medium Rare. They liked them but the consistency of the meat was weird to me. It was more like the consistency of liver. We received 3 side dishes all starting at $10.50 each. They brought us out 4 sides. The server misunderstood that part of our order. The Au Gratin Potatoes were what we didn’t want but we were going to just go ahead and keep it and pay for it. I pulled one of the potatoes out and I could barely cut it with a fork. I tasted it and it crunches. None of the potatoes were cooked. I did send it back and they took it off the bill. We also got the Creamed Spinach. It was good but was room temperature. Not hot at all. Our other side was the Mushrooms. They brought them out in a little aluminum pot. They got cold very quick but we’re good if you ate fast. Mashed Potatoes was our last side and they tasted..well, like mashed potatoes. Our server was very nice. The restaurant air temperature was pretty cold. We were all a little uncomfortable with how cold it was inside. Bathroom were ok..not exactly clean, not exactly gross.
We had a party of six to celebrate a birthday as well as for a pre-concert meal. It was very full, busy and noisy (but understandably so) since many were celebrating the Jaguars playoff win.
The food was superb as usual. There was a nice table decoration and card for the birthday. Each couple ordered a dessert to share. It would have been nice to have comped the birthday couple dessert especially since the bill was in the $400. range.
The waiter was good but not outstanding. He was not too friendly or engaged in our table. Perhaps because there were other tables that served Jaguar players. He was just adequate.
AMAZING! We were first timers and it exceeded my expectations. We had the ribeye, surf and turf 8oz, lobster Mac n cheese, sweet potato soufflé, and moscato. No complaints about any of it. Excellent service as well which made the food taste even better! Will be back.
Ruth Chris never disappoints. The Jacksonville location has beautiful views of the river. The food was delicious as always. Server Will was awesome! He was knowledgeable about the different steaks and his customer service skills are excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a great time however just a little disappointed in the service with our server. First, we are very thankful that our server was able to move us to another one of his tables as we had a last minute guest arrive and the current table wasn't big enough with the 8th person. However, there were times we had to go to the bar to get "refills" on our alcohol drinks. None of the soda's were ever refilled. We ordered a bottle of wine however the server just told us it wasn't available after 20 minutes of waiting and then never asked us or recommended another choice... The food was the same excellent Ruth Chris style and can never disappoint. Other than that, we love going here for leisure and for business.
This was my first time to eat at a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I had long heard about the quality of the steaks and the steep prices that come with them. We had an anniversary coming up, and since I have not heard of any really good local steakhouses in Jacksonville (there's nothing in this area comparable to Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa), I decided to give Ruth's Chris a try. Long story short, we were not disappointed. My steak, an 11 oz filet mignon, was hands-down the best steak I have ever eaten, and it was cooked to perfection! These people really know what they're doing. Also, the service was fantastic. Our waiter, Derrick, was friendly, personable and very attentive to detail. The restaurant also offers a great riverfront view of downtown Jacksonville. Overall, I would give this Ruth's Chris Steakhouse a 5-star rating. Oh, BTW, the check also lived up to my expectations! It's not cheap, but I'd say definitely worth it for truly special occasions.
Went here for Christmas, was a little hesitant after a bad experience at the Alpharetta, Ga location. However, we very pleased. Waitstaff was friendly and always there when needed. Steaks cooked to perfection. Unlike the Alpharetta, Ga location this location's management knew how to keep a restaurant running during the Holidays. Kudos! I will return when back in town.
Been eating here 2-3 times a year for many years, this year everything was pretty much the same excep for some of the food, my filet was over cooked, the loaded baked potato was poorly put together. The service was outstanding.
What can I say, I have never had a seafood tower more delicious, the filet mignon spectacular. my guest's veggie plate was thoroughly enjoyed and great martinis ! Yes, you are paying for the highest quality beef etc but well worth it !
The service was experienced and impeccable. The waterfront view beautiful and the dining room as comfortable as your favorite private club.
Highly recommended! Our go to at least once if not twice monthly.
We come to RC before going to the Florida Theater which is just across the river, so it is very convenient. Even though we have dined at this particular RC many times, the steaks (filets) were especially good - flavorable and cooked to perfection. The waiter was superb. Even though the restaurant was crowded, he took the time for extra attention. He ensured that my question about the Lyonnaise potatoes was confirmed with the chef. - Nice touch! He made you feel special. The white chocolate bread pudding with a shot of Grand Marnier topped off a perfect evening.
We highly recommend this RC, and we will definitely return!
After being seated 45 minutes after our reservation time, we proceeded to wait another 30 before someone finally took our drink order. The food is amazing but the service has really gone downhill. Ruth’s Chris used to set the bar for great dining experiences. It’s just not worth the expense any more.
