Ruth's Chris Steak House - Irvine Ratings and Reviews
I specifically mentioned that we will be celebrating B-day of our friend and their restaurant old patron . The staff knew him by name. They completely forgot. then they messed up with complimentary photo of him. It was not a special dinner for all us as usual. Disappointed.
The seating in this restaurant is crowded and the aisles between tables are narrow due to the curved wall around the perimeter. This made things seem closed in and claustrophobic. Our waiter failed on several occasions to bring the overpriced wine we ordered (come on, $92 for something that is a $30 bottle, REALLY?). We were thirsty waiting and we did not get our water refilled with glasses going dry on several occasions. Each course was slow to come to the table, including the first round of cocktails and appetizer. My wife ordered a Medium WELL steak and it came "Blue" or Rare at best and her broccoli was cold. She had to send her meal back and they then cooked the steak to well done and we only got back about half of the broccoli sent back and even then it was barely even warmer. My Pork Chop was under cooked and pink. It should have been cooked a bit more and not bloody. One of our deserts was not brought to us and we had to wait for it to come. We ordered after dinner drinks that never came by the time that we were done with our desert so we cancelled that order. There were four of us at the table and combined we spent around $400 or more so we were very, very disappointed and are not sure if we will ever return to Ruth Chris in the future as we feel that the service didn't come close to what is expected, especially for the price you charge. When you charge $44 for JUST THE STEAK you need to be spot on every single time and for the whole meal.
Ruth's Chris is always dependable. Food quality is exceptional. The only complaint I have is that the sides (lobster mac & creamed spinach) came out so hot that they were runny and too hot to enjoy. I suggest they give them a little "rest time" so the pasta has a chance to absorb some of the butter.
They made our anniversary very special with the personalized menu wishing us a Happy Anniversary and heart confetti on the table, along with everyone that served us wishing up a happy anniversary. The food was amazing as usual you just can’t go wrong with the ribeye. Our server Pamela and Bello even checked on the Dodgers score for us…now that’s amazing service! Thanks!
We had finished a 3 hour drive in traffic and had commitments that evening so we dined early. The staff was slow in opening but once seated our waiter resolved our concerns with our table and the evening flowed well after that. The food choice is the same in all Ruth Chris restaurants but the food was very good this time and we tried the Porterhouse for two and it was done perfectly. We will return.
Best service in town... we go monthly and love the staff.. Karen rocks..
however.. having been there in June, July, August, September and now October.. through out the renovation... I have to honestly say.. who ever the contractor is... don't give out his name.. the slowest remodel I have ever experienced... cudos to the staff to smile throughout the process
Fantastic service and steakes. I had the 40oz t-bone stake and shared it with my date. It was cooked perfectly at midium rare. They brought searing extra plate with melted salted butter for each of us to get extra butter on our steakes. Very nice.
For sides we had mushrooms and asparagas. Also lovely. For dessert we shared crem bulee. Also perfect. Over all one of the beat dining experiences if you love stakes. Cheers.
Solid service and a tasty meal except . . . the side we ordered of a sweet potato casserole w/ pecans arrived stone cold. Whoever was working the pass in the kitchen on Friday wasn't doing their job. Unfortunately by the time our waiter returned to ask how things were, we were half way through our meal and just returned the casserole, probably a tad warmer than when it first arrived at our table. We expected better from Ruth's Chris.
Excellent filet. We were 3 people on a business trip. All of us ordered 1 side - grilled asparagus, lobster Mac and cheese, potatoes au gratin. Food was Excellent, as was the service.
Why did I give it 4 stars then?
Bathrooms didn’t work and we had to use a port-a-pottie outside. Granted, it’s the fanciest ports Lottie I’ve ever used. I am not kidding.
As soon as the bathroom situation is resolved this will go to 5 stars.
John is an incredible asset to the Ruth’s Chris brand. He always welcomes and treats my family like his own. We enjoy Ruth’s Chris a great deal but the consistent level of service provided from John is outstanding every time. We recommend anyone looking for the ultimate dining experience at Ruth’s Chris Irvine to request John to experience the restaurant at its very best. Thanks always!

Used to go to Ruth's Chris all the time, but haven't been in awhile. Sad to see and say, but quality is going down hill. Use to love the apple walnut salad, it was fresh and tasty ...quality written all over it. The salad they serve now seems like it was purchased from the grocery store ... not impressed. The filet mignon we got was okay, seemed a little over done ...I remember the filet use to melt in your mouth. Substituted a side, instead of spinach got sauteed mushrooms and had to pay an extra $5. Really?!! They didn't charge extra before ... gotta love being nickle'd and dime'd. Don't care much for the new ambiance / decor, it felt more upscale before with better ambiance ... now it's just a busy room with filled with patrons.
We had not been to Ruth Chris Irvine for many years. As regular customers for years previous we stopped going as the food was very inconsistent. This trip the food was great, the service was very good but the remodeling will keep us from ever returning again. The restaurant is half finished. What is finished is so ugly and uninviting that is uncomfortable to dine in the space. Horrible choices on the design elements and tables that are cramped. It actually feels like a commercial space at an airport hotel dining room. For 200.00 for dinner for two I would much rather go somewhere that has a quality feel.
The restaurant is currently under active construction. The lobby is a visible mess and men have to use a porta potty out back. The restaurant should either shut down for 24 hrs to finish this job or do the project overnight. Absolutely unacceptable to receive guests in this condition. The food and service were good as always but this was an embarassment of a dinner.
