Ruth's Chris Steak House - Indianapolis
Service and hospitality of the staff was fantastic. Food was good, though the Lobster Macaroni & Cheese was disappointing, especially compared to versions at other high-end steakhouses in the area. (Bland and lifeless.)
My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is almost entirely ambiance. This was our first visit since their renovations and remodeling, and overall I’m not a fan of the new dining room - it has a cold and impersonal feel somehow, different than before. Bar area still looks and feels great, but I’ll likely only sit in the bar area moving forward.
Perfect.....as always! 🇺🇸
We arrived in Indianapolis later in the evening and had dinner at Ruth’s Chris at 9:00pm. Our waiter was outstanding and the food was delicious!
Lobster tail was not prepared properly NY strip had a funny taste. Filet and shrimp was good. Shoestring fries were over done. Crab cakes were great. Cheeses cakes were fantastic. Had to ask for drink refills multiple times. Waiter could not hear us as it was too loud. Very disappointed in the experience.
Our wait staff did an outstanding job to make our dining experience enjoyable.
Great meal. Awesome location, and service
We’re from California And do not go to Ruth Chris out here because the value was not there. I was skeptical of making these reservations but my boss forced me to, to my surprise service was impeccable recommendations outstanding and the food was phenomenal.
Food was great as always. Ruth is my favorite steak house!
Best steak in Indy. Yes I tried the competition. After a week at combine, Ruth’s Chris is the restaurant winner.
Great service. Fun cocktails. BBQ shrimp was tasty. But the clear winner is the filet. Way to shine!!
Wonderful experience all around. We had 2 people with us that had never been there
Celebrated my husband’s birthday and had a wonderful time. The service was stellar and food excellent! Everyone was very thoughtful about his birthday too with extra special touches!
I usually have a nice Romantic Date night there, but my last visit felt like I was at Chuck E Cheese. I was sat in a very crowded area at a small table where there was so much noise I could not enjoy my food, my conversation or even think. My Fiance said this was our worst date night ever... And were regular visitors of Ruth Chris, this time I was very disappointed
Great customer service by all staff members
Had a wonderful visit. The Cowboy steak was cooked to Perfection. Brussel sprouts were on point. We also had the asparagus and hashbrowns both were very good. The service was wonderful and atmosphere was enjoyable.
Food was exceptionally prepared. Cocktails were excellent.
Great service; one of 4 filets was a bit dry (others were exceptional); HVAC WAS TOO COOL despite asking for warmth and blew straight down onto our heads; car valets and hostesses were wonderful
Did not disappoint. Service was amazing. Food was delicious. Top notch dining experience.
Best atmosphere I've ever been in. Great staff amazing food!!! Will be going there again.
This was my first time going to this restaurant, my boyfriend has been before but he took me out for Valentine’s Day. Right away we were really turned off by the seating arrangements they had made. We were literally elbow to elbow with other tables of two sitting next to us. There was no privacy and it was very uncomfortable. The food was outstanding-the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. The service was amazing, our server was on everything and polite. I wouldn’t go back unless we had better seating arrangements.
Mike was our server he was great! Food was perfect and the price fixe menu is a good deal.
Our waiter was not attentive or in a good mood. We sat for 20 minutes in between food and he never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. They sat us in a table right next to the wait staff entrance and we still didn’t get good service. They didn’t time the food with the drinks, the steak and shrimp were cold when it arrived and they tried to reheat it and bring it back to our table. All in all the restaurant has really fallen in recent years and we won’t go back. I’ve had better service at a buffet, not at a steakhouse where the average price for a steak is 50$. Don’t waste your time or money on this place, there are plenty of steakhouses downtown.
We were 10 minutes late and they gave out table to someone else. We waited another 40 minutes to be seated in the bar area, which was noisy.
Marlie was excellent, great environment and my medium rare filet was exceptional. I felt I had a great value for the three coarse meal.
Everything was amazing with the exception of our waiter (usually is great) Lafayette was his name he just seemed as if we were a bother . That’s one of the reason we pay the price we pay for Ruth’s Chris is the usually great service . He is just not a personable person . Now when he brought us the bill all of a sudden he was full of smiles and nice . Other than that great as usual .
It was my birthday dinner on our annual trip to Downtown Indy. 3rd year for RC, everything was excellent ( except my baked potato was not done... still very hard on inside) The personal delivery of my birthday card and my banana cream pie for dessert-the BEST!!
Flawless Dining Experience
Waiter was helpful and efficient.
We always enjoy going to Ruth's Chris and this time was no exception. Excellent atmosphere, food and service. We loved it!
I requested a table in the main dining room. They sat us at the very first table at the top of the stairs, barely in the main dining room, and right by the door where it was freezing. Last time I also requested the main dining room, and they tried seating us in the bar! I guess I'm going to have to draw a picture of exactly where I would like to sit. We went for Devour Indy, and although the food was good, we didn't feel like we received nearly the great pricing for the food we received as we have at other restaurants during Devour week. I was a bit disappointed.
Food was not up to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses. Service was good.
Dessert was cold and hard.
Mashed potatoes were subpar.
Great! As always
Mike Burns was our server. He's the best. Always quality service.
We have been here before but the service this last time wasnt great and we probably wont return because of it. Not what I expect when paying such a high price for our dinner. Our server made a point to call us by our last name several times... "how is everything Mr and Mrs...." except each time he was using the wrong name. He came and immediately took the wine menu away saying we should use an ipad to select our wine instead because the menu wasnt correct. The ipad didnt work properly so we couldnt see a whole list of drinks on it either. His descriptions of the specials seemed like he had no idea what they were serving. "Scallops with a uh jambalaya-esque type thing. Uh, yeah its kind of like a pasta." The soup was "a spring soup. It has spring vegetables and some other stuff. Its good, its a spring soup." I expect staff at high priced places like this to know their menu and be able to tell me what is in it.
Our meal was ok. We both had steak. It wasnt overly flavorful. The crab cakes were amazing. The prosciutto and mandarin salad was great as well.
The manager came to our table and interrupted our conversation to say "well I assume everything is good because it got pretty quiet over here once the food came out." Then he walked around and said the same line to a few other tables.
This was a evening that we were celebrating and at the price we paid, I wish we would have gone elsewhere. None of this is a big deal if I am at a casual chain restaurant but part of coming here is for the experience and how you are treated.
The food was excellent. We felt the service was slow, including waiting for our table. The dining room was packed, which led to a far louder meal than we were wanting.
Went on a very busy Saturday night. We had a 6:30 reservation and we were seated just 7 minutes after we arrived. We requested a quiet table far away from the kitchen door and that is exactly what we got. The service was outstanding; our lead server (Roman) did a great job. As usual, the food and the drinks were exceptional. I can't wait to go back
Atmosphere was inviting. It was extremely busy, but we didn’t feel rushed in any way.
Food is delicious and the service is top notch
They were a little backed up on Saturday, but it wasn’t a long wait. Food was delicious, best ribeye I’ve had in a while.
Food was good! Service was very very poor for Ruth Chris, I’m not sure if they were short staffed. It was very disappointing for a Saturday night to have such poor service!
