Ruth's Chris Steak House - Huntsville Ratings and Reviews
Had an excellent experience start to finish. Met at the curb by Kevin the valet who was funny and helpful. Donny at the bar made EXCELLENT drinks for us while we waited. Our primary waiter was Shaun (sp). Very helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. Make an excellent wine suggestion based off our description of preferences that we absolutely loved. Checked on us regularly and obviously knew his business. Cedrick and Gabe (server and busser) also helped us out a lot. Then Keith, the floor manager, also tended to us quite a bit. (Sorry if I misspelled any names). Every one of these gentlemen were friendly, knew what they were talking about, were completely professional and made the dining experience very enjoyable. NOW, to talk about the food! We've dined at several different Ruth's Chis around the country and I can tell you this was one of the best experiences we have had. The steaks were phenomenal as always! Excellent (I keep using that word.....should say something!) cuts of meat that were cooked exactly as we asked. The sides were perfect as was our appetizer. I don't have a single negative thing to say about the food! If I had to say one somewhat negative thing about the experience overall, I would say I didn't like the chairs..... the back rest sat just a little too high for me. That was it! Everything else completely top notch!
Our Service was excellent. We had some of the best cocktails that we've had in a while. the atmosphere was perfectly quiet. Although, to be fair, we were dining during the national college football championship game. However, the food was cooked to perfection and we were greeted by name at the door. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly.
Have had dinner there twice in last month or so. First time not so bad. Wife enjoyed her salmon. I got the Petite filet. It was not tender at all.
Had dinner their Friday night. Wife ordered salmon again well done., it was like it had been cooked no more than five minutes. Almost raw. I ordered the barbecue shrimp appetiser as my meal and got the $30 shrimp with some grit cakes as I understand they were. Terrible pasty texture.
10 small shrimp and pasty cakes. $30. Shrimp obviously not fresh.
One of the managers came buy and ask about our meal. He did say we wouldn’ t be charged for the salmon.
Everything overpriced. $10 for a cup of corn, potatoes etc !!!!
Having eaten at very many Ruth’s Chris around the Southeast US, I can say this was the worst service I have experienced. Far below what one would expect from the chain. Primary wait staff seemed poorly trained and discourteous. Meals were mixed up and temperatures still incorrect. I know it was NYE and things can get hectic, but the reservation was made a few weeks ahead because I believed they would deliver a capable meal. The steak and sides were good, but not overwhelming. All in all just a poor performance that evening. Highly unexpected from Ruth’s Chris.
Visited to celebrate my wife’s birthday and retirement with friends. Great service from Burt, very attentive without hovering. Food was excellent and served at a casual pace that allowed for conversation. We were treated as welcomed patrons from the minute we entered until we picked up car from valet. Love there new location.
The food and overall experience ended up being nice. We had an issue upon arrival with the Happy Hour menu being available only in the bar area. After speaking with the manager to try and resolve the issue we were reseated in the bar area. After that fiasco, the server was fantastic and provided great service. With that being said this Ruth’s is not as customer focused as others I have visited.
I have eaten at several Ruth Chris Steak Houses and they all are about the same. The food is good, but it is certainly overpriced. You can have as good of a meal for half the price at many other places. If you don't mind it being overpriced and understand that going in, you will have a pleasant experience.
We have been to Ruth's Chris elsewhere and enjoyed food, service and ambience. On this occasion we booked at Huntsville for Thanksgiving with a guest.
The ambience was fine but nor particularly "warm or inviting", not "buzzy" .. if anything a little lacking. Although our server was pleasant, our overall service experience was poor.
Our guest ordered lobster bisque starter which was noted as being a bit delayed and then after some delay our server brought a salad instead noting that it would be another half hour for the soup .. given this is a standard RC soup offer that was a tad disappointing, but what is worse is bringing a subjectively chosen alternative without asking first.
Two glasses of wine had been ordered, one came but the other had to be re-requested.
The steak for our Guest was spot on.
The roast turkey for my wife and myself was tepid on arrival, (and I have to say disappointing in flavour and portion), and on cold plates, requiring sent back to be warmed up .. consequently drying it out a bit, and our side of mash was by then tepid and also required re-heat. A seriously underwhelming all round experience.
Dessert was excellent.
At no point did our server seem to appreciate that as customers we were clearly there on that night for an obvious celebratory reason, i.e. Thanksgiving, and clearly with a family guest; and as such it is astounding that there was no reasonably credible apology for the disruption to our meal experience.
We were not asked at any point how things were with our meal, or I would indeed have noted our disappointment.
We were then presented with a full bill.
No offer of apology on the issues; no comping of the salad we did not order instead of the bisque; no comping of any contribution on our turkey; no request if we wanted coffee or drinks after, far less the offer of complementary coffee or drinks in apology for the issues incurred.
In short, average food and below average service at a relatively premium price.
The food was excellent and perfectly cooked as always. Service was a little slow and it seemed like it took forever to get the check but it was Thanksgiving and they were extremely busy so it was completely understandable. Overall it was another excellent Thanksgiving meal so we will continue our new tradition again next year.
We enjoyed our visit on 11/22/17. Tyler was an excellent server and his assistant Gabe was great, too. We had not been there since they moved from the Embassy Suites Hotel. We stayed there when we came down to look around for a home and always ate at Ruth's Chris. Now that we live here, we will be back!
