Ruth's Chris Steak House - Hartford Ratings and Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, our servers were terrific! (Thanks Trish & Sheila)
We had drinks, apps, salads, dinner and dessert and every course was great. Food was delivered quickly and hot, I thought they were very efficient (food runners, water was always filled, crumbs removed etc)
Drink menu was awesome! They have a lot of hand crafted beverages, mojitos & martini's were what really caught my eye!
Highly recommended, works for any occasion special evening, date night or something celebratory!
RC is one of our favorite “go to’s,” however NYEve 2017 was subpar. Timing was off, waited a while for water (and in between courses), wrong appetizer, main entree took unusually long (sounded like they forgot to put it in). Despite that, the food is always consistent and it was that evening. We left a great tip, anyway. Hey, everyone has a bad night every now and then. Here’s to 2018!
Great experience overall except the maître d' could use a course at a finishing school as he was pretentious and snooty. Service and food were excellent.
We were a party of seven, and I was taking my eighty year old parents out to dinner. It was 7 degrees Fahrenheit that night and upon arriving at 4:50pm for a 5:00pm reservation, the maître d' decided we should wait in the freezing lobby for 10 minutes in an otherwise completely empty restaurant.
Other than that, the service was excellent, the entrees' were well prepared as you would come to expect. Entrees ranged between filets, ribeyes and salomon. The appetizers were excellent as was the king crab. With tip, soup to nuts you should expect to pay $100 per person. I brought two bottles if wine and the charged a $20 corking fee which is pretty standard and just fine with me given the wine wasn't on the list and certainly on the high end of any wine list.
Christmas Eve dinner was a disappointment. We all ate here in 2016 & food & service was superb but not so this year. Four of 5 steaks were not cooked properly & had to be sent back and side dishes were not hot. For this expensive of a restaurant, I expect food to be superb. Our servers who were very friendly didn’t really seem to care about quality of our entrees.
We won’t be back anytime soon.
We were seated at a table two feet from the exit door and were freezing all night.
On the drive home, my son and daughter both had terrible stomach aches and we thought it was due to a dessert, since they were the only two of our party of 8 that had it. I would go again, but would request to sit somewhere warmer.
Wait for table was over 20 minutes with a reservation and service was extremely sluggish due to large parties in the restaurant. Not faulting staff they did the best they could, management could have been a little more attentive and should be staffing for these large events.
I took my wife to Ruth’s Chris on Monday Night for her Birthday and the entire experience was top-level. The atmosphere was amazing. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection! The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Steve, the General Manager checked on us twice to make sure our experience was above and beyond. That was our first time but, will not be our last!
We had fabulous service by several waiters/attendants. We received an extra side (sweet potato casserole) as the excellent waitress, Kasey C, was discussing with me. Every appetizer (we got 3) and every steak and side was superb! I've been here several times and always enjoyed the atmosphere and truly great service and food! It's a bit pricey but very good food.
We were celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant and wait staff went out of their way to acknowledge our special event. Rose petals on the table and a remembrance photo. Service was superb and the food excellent as usual. Highly recommended for a special night out.
We had a great experience for our anniversary. They put rose petals on the table which was nice. The service was top notch and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. I got the bone in filet which was amazing but next time I’d rather get a regular filet or a ribeye. I also got shrimp on top my steak and it was good. We got broccoli and sweet potato casserole as our sides. Next time we will get one more side. We didn’t want to dessert but they brought us out a complementary small dessert which was very nice. For two people the bill came out to $150 before tip with no alcohol and no dessert. They do have Restaruant week sometimes too. All in all it was a very good experience.
I used to frequent this location ALL the time.
Stopped going bc 1) the last few trips the steaks were not cooked properly. 2) there are other very good steak restaurants in the area (Fleming’s, J Gilbert’s).
Decided to give it another shot. And you know what happened? One steak done to perfection, the other was ordered as medium and came back rare/med-rare.
It’s a steak place for heaven’s sake! Learn how to cook them already.
We love Ruth's Chris. While it is expensive, it is worth every penny. Our seafood tower was beautiful and delicious. One of our guests had the Waygu steak, she said it was the best steak she'd ever had. Creme brulee and cheesecakes are outstanding desserts.
