First time. At Ruth's Chris and was really excited to try it for myself. Since I was staying at Ctowne Plaza, I received a coupon for a free barbaque shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was good, but nothing special about the sauce.
The wine list was very large and I did select an awesome Malbec.
The service was very good and I was checked on often throughout the meal.
The steak itself (a filet) was very tender, but I was expecting a better flavor after reading other reviews.
It was amazing! Food was perfect and service was perfect! Great experience!
The service was outstanding, and the food tasted very good. We had a $100 gift card, so we decided to eat at a Ruth's Chris Steak House, because we'd never been there before. Reading the info on the website, we understood there was a dress code that was to be followed (no caps/hats) or you'd be seated in the bar area. Dress shirt/slacks were appropriate for a man and a woman was to wear nice slacks/blouse/sweater. No jeans/sweatshirts/tee shirts were allowed.
We were shocked when we first were seated and saw a man wearing a leather Indiana Jones-looking hat the entire time. Then, other customers walked in wearing sweatshirts, tee shirts, jeans, tennis shoes and ball caps. The men kept their caps on their heads the entire time.
We could not see that any dress code was enforced. We were the most dressed-up diners in the restaurant that evening. We thought about asking the hostess about the dress code, but decided against causing any problems. This is our only 'negative' comment.
Our leftovers were put in cute little black boxes and placed in a pretty red and black plastic carryout bag.
We felt as though we were dining while on a cruise ship...linen tablecloth, napkins, nice glassware, silverware and excellent attention from David (our waiter) and the little lady that kept our water glasses continually filled.
Dinner was Ok. Definitely not worth the price. This location has gone Down hill. I went to the one downtown Greenville last Month and food taste better steak wasn’t over cooked at that one and the service was top notch. I could have had better food honestly at Outback and been satisfied . Probably won’t go back to this one again . I’ll stick w the one downtown
Great meal and great service. Restaurant interior is pretty old and dated. Food is fabulous but still over priced.
First time great experience and food. I will be back.
Earnest was great, very knowledgeable and hospitable. We dined before the Blake Shelton concert. The only complaint I would have is the price of a bottle of prosecco. I drink Chloe and purchase it at my local grocery, it’s anywhere from $10.99-12.99. You charge $48. I understand there has to be a mark up but a 350% markup seems extreme, when other restaurants are 200-250% markup which is understandable. If you’re going to charge that amount serve LaMarca or higher quality prosecco. But other than that ALWAYS a great experience and will be back!
Great food. Good service. However, we were seated near a private room where there was a big party and they were so loud at times I couldn’t even hear my boyfriend talking who was right in front of me. Other than that, excellent!
Server was excellent. Can't say much more when the brussel sprouts take the evening.
The food was delicious and our server, David, was great. We recommend asking for him when you go.
It's Ruth's. Plain and simple. Top of the line food. Never rushed. Always right. Expensive. High wine markups.
Ruth Chris is always a great go to for business meals and this location is excellent. The staff was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. My clients had a wonderful experience.
Celebrated our 25th anniversary with our 2 children. Our dinner was amazing and our server, Lee keeps us coming back time and again.
Amazing Dinner with friends. Service was excellent.
Expensive place to eat in the food wasn't worth it
The steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Salad was fantastic as well as the crab cakes. The only complaint I have at all was our waiter. He was very forgetful and slow. If we had gotten another waiter, I would have given five stars. I also witnessed the waiter be extremely rude and disrespectful to the bus boy.
Very enjoyable when you can have a nice conversation with soft music over a fine meal. Great service. So glad we have fine dinning option without having to go downtown.
Excellent dinner at Ruth's Chris Greenville. Our waiter, Andrew, was very attentive to our needs and gave us excellent service. Filets and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Desserts were yummy. We like this Ruth's Chris better than the one in downtown Greenville because this one is more warmly lit and decorated as opposed to the one downtown, which is stark and modern (although it does have a view of the Reedy River). We will return!
It was awesome best steak around
The service was great and the menu
Was laid out good
Had dinner on valentines here - We previously have been to other Ruth Chris’s. Dinner was extremely slow to be served with no explanation (others received food before us) Room was cold, and they continued to push appetizers, desserts, and drinks - to the point the manager came over to push them! Was the bottle of wine not enough?
Best high end restaurant period, will definitely come back again soon
Our food was absolutely great and our server, David provided excellence service. Wonderful evening, thanks.
Was dissatisfied with seating in the rear of restaurant. No ambiance what so ever. Water waitress was not attentive to detail. At several times she passed my table to fill others without taking a look to see if my table needed any, and I had to ask another waiter for water .
I always enjoy my visit with Ruth Chris. I keep going back because I know what I am getting. I have not been let down yet. If we're going to spend this kind of money for a meal, Ruth Chris steakhouse is where I want to do it. The waiter was very pleasant. We've had this particular waiter three times. I love the prefixed menu also. And the restroom is always kept tidy and smelling nice.
I had heard great things about Ruth’s Chris, but the staff and food exceeded my expectations! We had 4 courses, each phenomenal. The filet mignon is so tender and it was cooked to perfection. The pace of the restaurant is slower, so make sure to leave plenty of time if you have plans after, but this makes for great conversation time with friends or that special someone. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
Waited so long before we even got water. Several tables wobbled and tipped. Service was poor and slow. Had to ask for water refill. Ordered the Chilean Seabass which was fishy tasting. Seabass should not be fishy. Mash potatoes were great. Ribeye steak was average and not what we would expect from this restaurant. Creme Brulee and coffee was best part. For what we paid we would expect better service and food.
We dined at Ruth's for the umpteenth time for our annual birthday/Valentine's Day dinner. We wouldn't miss this outstanding beef menu for anything. Everything was perfect from the martinis to dessert. Thank you again and we'll see you soon!
The food and service is not consistent. The food is not worth the $$.
Great food and service
My wife Donna and I really enjoyed our date night. The food was great, our server Lee did an excellent job, and the room is beautiful set with the table linen. An overall wonderful experience. Thanks
A terrific meal for my Wife's birthday. Darren was attentive but not obtrusive, providing exactly what we needed. The food was fabulous. Would recommend!
The food here is always exceptional. The service is amazing. No matter how busy they are we are always taken care of in a timely manner. I’ve never been disappointed!
Food was delicious!! The staff was great as well!! My family and I will be back!!!
Food and service, as usual, were outstanding. Not the most vibrant restaurant, it is fairly quiet.
Great evening! Service was outstanding and the food was spot on!
With all the great steakhouses and restaurants in Greenville, the ala carte menu is not worth the price. The barbeque shrimp appetizer had the smallest shrimp I've seen served in this level restaurant for the money. Atmosphere is always formal and romantic. Service is good but not as high quality as you would expect from a Ruth Chris. No clearing of crumbs and drinks run out before being topped off.
Our server was pretty knowledgeable and gave good advice. Unfortunately we waited 30 minutes for our first drinks after ordering.
The filet mignon (medium) was okay but not as good as I thought it would be. Can definitely not be cut with a fork and is not melting in your mouth as the menu states. The sides were really good.
All in all, everything was okay but a pretty poor value for the money. You can get better food for the same or less at Larkins, Rick Erwin’s or Halls Chophouse.
Josh made the evening better with his personality and his great choice options.
Great steak and excellent service ! Extra attention for my wife's birthday was appreciated.
