Ruth's Chris Steak House - Garden City
Outstanding service and food
Always an amazing experience at Ruth’s Chris! We celebrated Valentine’s Day and it was great. It was decorated beautifully. Great service and great food.
Valentine’s Day was great!
Wonderful time, wait staff was amazing as usual! Good was delicious!
This was our first time dining here, and we were treated like VIPs! We were given a great table and because it was our anniversary, they gave us a free dessert with a candle in it. I raved about my entree, and our server had the chef come to our table to meet us! The dining room is large with a very high ceilings. It was crowded since it was Valentine’s Day, yet the noise level was low! It was one of the best Valentines Day we’ve had in years!
Pre-Valentines day... all good just bad seating.
We were a party of four. We ordered the porterhouse for two. Never had so much fat on a steak. The manager wanted to know why we didn't call her attention to it earlier, but to tell the truth, the waiter put the steak on our plate in the beginning. Those pieces were okay. Mine was full of fat and I said to my husband, I definitely like Gordon Ramsey's much better. He was not sure why I said that until he took his last three pieces and they were all full of fat too. We told the manager and she came back and said she would take the price of the filet off. $49. Our steak was $105. That was totally wrong. She said if we told her earlier she would have gotten us a new steak. Well, when your waiter puts the best pieces on your plate and you don't get the fat until the end, how can you tell her earlier. I will never go back there that is for sure
I dine at a Ruth's Chris maybe once or twice per year. In the past I've had a couple of good experiences at this Garden City location. This time the experience was mediocre considering the price. My strip steak was done medium though I had ordered medium-rare. I didn't make an issue as didn't want to interrupt my dinner party. The strip also had more fat/grizzle than I am used to and prefer. The younger staff (hostesses) were very pleasant. The older waiter was too rehearsed - he probably needs to find something else to do that he enjoys.
Our service was outstanding. Server was attentive, food was brought out in a timely manner and everything was served at the perfect temperature. Our appetizers and side dishes were delicious however our entrees were disappointing. We each ordered a Filet and it was a tough piece of meat. It was difficult to cut and was not of good quality. We both ordered it cooked medium and it was served that way. It was not over cooked, it was just of poor quality. Very disappointed. Expected much better from a steakhouse.
Food wasn't good at all
As always, excellent food & service.
Celebrated my Husband’s Birthday dinner here. The food was Amazing and proportional. I live 10 minutes away, and will definitely return.
Dennis was amazing and professional. The steaks are very good and so are the adult size poured drinks. A tad on the expensive side but it’s to be expected when you are getting great quality food.
The rib eye steak is so tender, succulant and flavorful. Complemented with a hearty Shiraz wine, Bellisimo! Service was impeccable!
To begin the evening my wife burnt her finger on the plate, not anyone's fault. The vegetables and potatoes were not enough for two people, (my wife and I are not big eaters). The two 12oz ribeye's had a lot of grizzel and fat on them... I'm not hard to please, however, for the price of $144.00 plus a $30.00 tip I was very disappointed... There were many other people around us, so, we just left with no discussion.
I apologize for this review, I'm retired and it's not often my wife and I can go out to a steak house like Ruth Chris! That's why it hurt so much!
Celebrating a couple of closed deals with a new business partner.
From the “walking up to the restaurant from the parking lot” to actually leaving the restaurant after dinner, my husband was just amazed. He had never been there and I sat and loved his 1st experience face the entire time. Everything was top notch — the service (we did not have to wait at all to be seated and our waiter from beginning to end) was amazing, the food — cocktails, appetizer, entree and dessert — were all great. My husband is already planning our next trip back so that he could try the steak and he is not a steak eater
Service and bartender were very good.
Food is the biggest issue with flavorless steaks and sides. Wine list is ok they went extremely cheap to be cost efficient and guest friendly yet menu prices for food are on par with NYC steak houses and they aren’t close to comparable. Upside was service with a knowledgeable waiter who was not on top of us and allow us to eat at our leisure though it was the end of the night
Everything Was EXCELLENT! Will return soon.
Always a good time and great food! Our waiter, Dennis, also made it special!
Had a great lunch.
I hadn’t been to this restaurant in years due to a very rude hostess, however my visit on Sunday was very enjoyable. Onion rings done perfectly well done as I had requested and all sides and porterhouse was delicious.
It was great!
Dress code not enforced. Had a man sitting next to me wearing a baseball cap on sideways and red sweatpants hanging down passed his buttocks. Very ghetto and not appropriate for this type of restaurant. Staff said nothing.
Enjoyable experience, I will go back. Thank you. Good consistent
Filet mug on was delicious as always and perfectly cooked. Sides are amazing!
I don’t normally write reviews so that shows how much we truly loved Ruth’s Chris. I go to a lot of steak houses for special occasions with my wife and admittedly I was skeptical to go here because I didn’t think it was going to feel as exclusive and give us the same fine dining experience we had from places like Insignia and Prime considering it was in a building and the pictures online didn’t really showcase how beautiful this place actually is on the inside. And as I expected the exterior isn’t great however the interior was beautiful! I placed a reservation stating it was my wife’s birthday and everyone from the receptionist to the waiter to the lady to cleaned off our table wished my wife a happy birthday. The most important part of a dining experience is the food (obviously) and we shared a porterhouse for two and it was probably one of the best steaks we had in Long Island. The only other steakhouse I went to where I enjoyed a steak this much was Prime. I have to admit, Ruth’s Chris far exceeded my expectations and I will highly recommend this steakhouse to all my friends and family:
I took my wife and daughter for dinner on Sunday and it was a great evening/ experience at Ruth's Chris . The food , service, ambiance was great, I would definitely recommend Ruth's Chris to friends and family. I will be coming back in the future with the family again.
I’ve been to numerous steak houses Peter Luger, Morton’s , uncle Jacks etc . But Ruth Chris is the overall best and keeps me coming back..
Very loud place. Not the Ruth’s Chris experience I’ve had at other locations.
It was a little noisy and somewhat crowded but very good service and great food
The food was great and the service was good No Complaints
Very visit to this location never disappoints me. The food is amazing. The wait staff is amazing. The Cowboy and Tomahawk is definitely recommended here!
Overall a great experience. Enjoyed the food, drink and venue
AmaZing! Wonderful birthday dinner for my mom!
