Ruth's Chris Steak House - Ft. Worth Ratings and Reviews
First off the after waiting 30 minutes in line to valet, we were told they could no longer take any cars and forced us to park a block away and walk in the rain. We were then sat an hour after our reservation. The food didn’t seem like a good value at $170 for 2. The wait staff was very good.
There were 8 of us; we arrived on time for a 7pm reservation but decided to have a drink first in the bar. We let them know and they said they were getting our table ready - no problem. We went back 20 min later to get table and they said they were getting it ready (still). We went back another 15 - 20 and same story. When finally seated we ordered salads/appetizers which came out fine. Then (all but one of us got steak) food took way too long to come. Two steaks WAY overcooked, sent back- one came back fine, 2nd one never came. Two other people had steak that was overcooked but they ate it anyway. Check took WAY to long to come, waiter barely stopped by (we could tell it was busy, BUT for the prices we were paying, expectations are higher!). This was our 3rd annual time to come to celebrate 6 of our December birthdays, but it was determined we most likely will not come back for this next year.
We come here several times a year for special occasions, and it has always been great. This time we brought another couple, and it was their first time. Unfortunately, the service this time was horrible, and I had to apologize to our friends for it. The food as always, was top notch, and the restaurant took care of us regarding the service issues. We will return in the future.
Been to this Ruth's Chris many times but rarely on a Saturday night. This occasion proved to be a disappointment as we were seated in an "overflow" dining room which was small, no windows and zero atmosphere. However the main problem was that the service was not good, almost like our dining room was opened at the last minute to accommodate additional guests without the staff to properly service it!
I found the food to be "nothing special". The setting was just another hotel restaurant. The wait staff was attentive so that is a plus, the dessert seemed like it might have been bought rather than shop made. All in all, there are many other dining spots in Downtown Fort Worth, I doubt I'll be back to this one.
Very disappointed with Ruth’s Chris. Slow service, wrong orders delivered and my husband’s steak did not come out until the rest of our party was almost done. It was a bone-in filet so obviously needed to cook longer but I am convinced they just forgot him and then had to start it after all the other meals were delivered. His baked potato was cold and somewhat raw on the inside. So was his steak - which he had requested medium well. We had 4 people and we were there 2 1/2 hours. They also left a message that I MUST call and confirm my reservation - really? 6:45 on a Wednesday night? The restaurant was about 3/4 empty so why the concern?
Went on Thanksgiving. We had reservations and they seated us as soon as we walked in the door. Had drinks and dinner....we both had steak and lobster...the lobster was great...the steak was over cooked and dry....we both asked for medium....they both came out almost well done....should have sent it back...I didn't finish it. Had a $10 baked potato as one of our sides....it was brown on the inside like it had been in an oven for two days. The service was great...but I can not recommend the food....when you spend that kind of money you expect good food. They don't post their menu prices on line.....makes you think....doesn't it.
Manager greeted us after The receptionist stayed on the phone booking reservations rather than taking care of us, and he was very pleasant . Our waitress was quite shabby looking and did not appear to represent Ruth Chris's image and we received mediocre service from her.
we went early so we had a quiet experience . we had the 40oz porterhouse and shared a side of grilled asparagus and one of cheese potatoes. since this was wife's birthday I ordered a bottle of wine. the food was delicious ,the steak was cooked to perfection, and the servers were very attentive and polite. I was expecting it to be pricy but still had sticker shock when we looked at the menu. we could have had two great meals at very good restaurants for the price. save this place for a very special occ.
I would recommend it for ambiance, fancy & service. The food was not what we expected. My wife had petite ribeye steak and I had chilean sea bass. Our experience with both at other restaurants was much better. I'm talking 5 star restaurants not, the small quality chains. We had calamari appetizer (compliments of Hilton Hotel) and chocolate molten cake with chocolate mousse topping for dessert( compliments of the restaurant for wife's birthday). They were excellent. Like I said, service was excellent and we didn't want to complain about the food but, it just wasn't worth $115.00 for 2 meats and one side.
The food was outstanding although it was a stormy night and I guess they thought it would be slow. They had let some servers go home and it ended up being very busy. That caused the service to be a little slow but it would not stop me fro going back.
We try and make different venues during the restaurant week and this was our first time to this one. We will be back. Thanks
1) The service was impeccable. Drinks from the bar came very quickly, and were strong, and each course was delivered without much wait.
2) With the exception of the mashed potatoes the food was delicious. I had the ahi tuna stack, steakhouse salad, tenderloin with shallot, bacon and coffee jam and creamed spinach and they were wonderful. My wife had the crab stack, carrot ginger soup, crab cakes and mashed potatoes and everything was good except the potatoes. They had the texture and flavor of instant. I didn't pay $250 for a meal and expect instant mashed potatoes.
3) The service was wonderful with one exception. A waitress, not our waitress, stood with her back to us, 6 inches from our table, and visited loudly about her personal life with the people seated at the table for over 15 minutes. The combination of her rear end and their LOUD conversation did not make for a nice dinner atmosphere.
4) We had a 7:30 reservation but were not seated until 8:15. At 8:00 I reminded the desk that we were waiting and she said that she had forgotten about us. Like the mashed potatoes, I don't spend $250 on dinner with the expectation of being forgotten and seated 45 minutes late.
1st time - supported for charity during Restaurant Week. Excellent choice for B-Day or special occasion. Menu was strict but we still enjoyed. Wish there were more veggie options instead of carbs and starch for the side item: creamed spinach, mashed potatoes or creamy corn.
