Ruth's Chris Steak House - Ft. Worth Ratings and Reviews
We decided to do something different this year... My mom wanted @RuthsChris for Christmas Dinner. She became ill and couldn't go but me and my daughter proceeded... I would've done better eating at Denny's with the quality of food we were served. My daughter's well done steak looked and tasted like burnt beef tips. My medium steak was well done. The overall taste of the sides were unimpressive under seasoned and bland. The best part of the meal was the bread and butter. While I watched other tables be checked on by their waiter, ours couldn't be bothered to show his face other than to bring out the meal. I sat waiting to get his attention throughout the meal. As a first time experience I must say it will be my last... Definitely not worth the $160 I spent for me and my daughter... When you know good steak, you know this isn't it.
The service was slow, but I'm certain it was because it was a holiday. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered asparagus as a side dish. It was a very small order to be considered "family style" and it was overcooked. When the asparagus is shriveled up, it is overcooked. The au gratin potatoes were very good, but the portion seems very small for the price. The chopped salad was very good. Filets were good and cooked to our order. We had a nice time.
Rick, our attendant provided SPOT ON INTUITIVE SERVICING. He met and EXCEEDED our expectations. Location was busy for christmas eve dinner. Tables felt more cramped tonight - probably to accommodate the crowd.
Food is ALWAYS ALWAYS GOOD. Steaks perfectly cooked, salads perfectly prepped and dressed.
MERRY CHRISTMAS Rick and all the staff at Ruth’s Chris FTW. Our thanks to each of you for working your magic on Christmas Eve.
First off the after waiting 30 minutes in line to valet, we were told they could no longer take any cars and forced us to park a block away and walk in the rain. We were then sat an hour after our reservation. The food didn’t seem like a good value at $170 for 2. The wait staff was very good.
Our reservation was at 7:00. We did not get seated until 8:15. We had two servers that just totally disappeared and did not get our food until 9:40. So many apologies and we were told three different reasons why our situation was so reprehensible, however just terrible management was most evident. We will for sure never return.
The food was amazing- when we got it. Our waitress was MIA most of the night, and our entrees took almost 2 hours to arrive to the table. We questioned the waitress asking what was going on and how much longer after an hour and a half, she just shrugged her shoulders and said she didn’t know. We asked the manager and he made a bunch of excuses and never really gave us a straight answer either. He offered to comp us a round of drinks- a whopping 2 beers as two of the four of us weren’t drinking. If they had just admitted there was a problem and apologized it would have been much better received than the handful of excuses we were expected to take at face value. Obviously something, somewhere was wrong. The refusal to take care of us in any way caused us to leave before dessert as we were so frustrated with the lack of caring we observed with the staff we interacted with- which ultimately cost them more money. Will never come back here unfortunately, the food was delicious but at this price point we expect a level of service that we most definitely did not receive.
Even though we had a reservation we had to wait about 40 mins to be seated. Wait staff seemed extremely rushed and very unhappy with their jobs. Slamming menus, eye rolling, talking about how busy it was. We had to return our steaks but once they came back out they were perfect. The food was very good, but if your looking for a nice quiet dinner this is not the place. It was extremely loud and rushed. We ate quickly and left even though we were celebrating our anniversary we felt like our waitress just wanted our table. We obliged.
There were 8 of us; we arrived on time for a 7pm reservation but decided to have a drink first in the bar. We let them know and they said they were getting our table ready - no problem. We went back 20 min later to get table and they said they were getting it ready (still). We went back another 15 - 20 and same story. When finally seated we ordered salads/appetizers which came out fine. Then (all but one of us got steak) food took way too long to come. Two steaks WAY overcooked, sent back- one came back fine, 2nd one never came. Two other people had steak that was overcooked but they ate it anyway. Check took WAY to long to come, waiter barely stopped by (we could tell it was busy, BUT for the prices we were paying, expectations are higher!). This was our 3rd annual time to come to celebrate 6 of our December birthdays, but it was determined we most likely will not come back for this next year.
We come here several times a year for special occasions, and it has always been great. This time we brought another couple, and it was their first time. Unfortunately, the service this time was horrible, and I had to apologize to our friends for it. The food as always, was top notch, and the restaurant took care of us regarding the service issues. We will return in the future.
Been to this Ruth's Chris many times but rarely on a Saturday night. This occasion proved to be a disappointment as we were seated in an "overflow" dining room which was small, no windows and zero atmosphere. However the main problem was that the service was not good, almost like our dining room was opened at the last minute to accommodate additional guests without the staff to properly service it!
I found the food to be "nothing special". The setting was just another hotel restaurant. The wait staff was attentive so that is a plus, the dessert seemed like it might have been bought rather than shop made. All in all, there are many other dining spots in Downtown Fort Worth, I doubt I'll be back to this one.
Very disappointed with Ruth’s Chris. Slow service, wrong orders delivered and my husband’s steak did not come out until the rest of our party was almost done. It was a bone-in filet so obviously needed to cook longer but I am convinced they just forgot him and then had to start it after all the other meals were delivered. His baked potato was cold and somewhat raw on the inside. So was his steak - which he had requested medium well. We had 4 people and we were there 2 1/2 hours. They also left a message that I MUST call and confirm my reservation - really? 6:45 on a Wednesday night? The restaurant was about 3/4 empty so why the concern?
Went on Thanksgiving. We had reservations and they seated us as soon as we walked in the door. Had drinks and dinner....we both had steak and lobster...the lobster was great...the steak was over cooked and dry....we both asked for medium....they both came out almost well done....should have sent it back...I didn't finish it. Had a $10 baked potato as one of our sides....it was brown on the inside like it had been in an oven for two days. The service was great...but I can not recommend the food....when you spend that kind of money you expect good food. They don't post their menu prices on line.....makes you think....doesn't it.
