Ruth's Chris Steak House - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
It was a last minute birthday dinner and in the beginning staff was very attentive. Our Waiter was great, however when he received a large party of 12 right in front of us, he tended to forget us and his assistant, son to another staff member, he was forever lost and not attentive at all! Forgot to bring us bread, never filled our water, passed us when we waved him over. He ruined the waiters attempt of being attentive.
We decided to go to Ruth's Chris for our first wedding anniversary and we were so glad we did. We had reservation for 7:30 PM Dec 2nd but we came a little early to just seat at the bar and have a drink. The staff at the bar could not be nicer. They tried hard to please us.. and Allyson picked a good Cabernet for me.
We got to our table and they had a beautiful note congratulating us for our Anniversary including some rose petals. Our waitress was Dominique. What a lovely lady. First..you can tell she is doing this for a long time. Next time we go,.. I want her back. She was extremely attentive and very nice to us. We ordered the BBQ shrimp .... O M G .... it was delicious. I didn't know what was better.. the sauce or the butter for the bread. I had the 16oz ribeye and my husband had the 22oz filet. Cooked perfect.. just like we asked. The lobster mac & cheese was amazing as well as the asparagus.
The whole experience was just very nice... and as we just had dinner at Gordon Ramsey's Steak House.. in wish we spent $500 for the two of us and the food was not even close to this dinner tonight.
All staff was very well organized ... fast..but careful. Even Miguel (from Portugal) stopped by and say hi, When you have staff like this.. means you have good management as well. BRAVO.
I want to thank the whole staff.. especially Dominique for making this Anniversary a wonderful one. We definitely be back, before our next one. :-)
Food was outstanding! Service was the worst I’ve ever experienced especially for a restaurant with nobody there. There were three of us at the bar and a table of about 20 people in the restaurant side. The women from the large party kept coming to the bar every 15 minutes to get drinks and we were completely ignored the whole time. Bartender started off great and went down from there once 3/4 girls every 10-15 mintews keot coming up for drinks. The manger saw the whole thing happen before his eyes and did absolutely nothing about it.
I would of expected more from Ruth Chris’s as the experience at the Boston location has always been outstanding. We were also celebrating my boyfriends retirement as he took a vacation and is going back to finally let his workplace know he is retiring. Ruth Chris was well aware of this special occasion when booked through Open Tsble. Not even an acknowledgement.
The food was absolutely delicious. I added a note on the reservation that it was for our anniversary and they put rose pedals and little hearts on the table for us. So cute, I'm cheesy like that and loved it!! They took brought out the dessert with Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the plate and took a picture of us with the dessert and gave us a card with the picture in it. Really a nice night!!
Not a good ambience. Dark and noisy. Better ambience at the Ruth Chris located in Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, or Coral Gables.
The food was good. Best things were sitting at a table in the bar waiting for our dinner table, cocktails, and the appetizers.
Waiter forgot our wine order at dinner. Had to ask for bread and water.
I was there for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was salty, rubbery and cold. Bad experience.
I went to your restaurant two years ago for Thanksgiving and they ran out of sweet potatoes.
Never going back for the holidays. It's usually good during the other parts of the year.
The restaurant is too crowded and disorganized on Thanksgiving. You should think about
closing for now on and giving your employees the night off. You are giving yourself a bad
reputation by staying open with mediocre food on that special day.
Just a thought.
p.s. Gloria is always wonderful. So sorry to hear that Carolyn is having health issues.
She is a sweetheart.
The thanksgiving meal was great but the service was not that great maybe due to it being so busy but it’s my second year ina row for the thanksgiving dinner.
Very pleased with the turkey, dressing and sweet potato casserole and the barbecue shrimp appetizer was good too
We had an awful dining experience. Our waiter Tommy was fantastic, however he was slammed with a minimum of over 7 table with three of them 6-8 people. His support staff was lacking. We ran out of water, bread and wine.
The men’ room was filthy with un-flushed toilets, toilet paper on the floor and no hand towels. We informed the hosted stand about the restroom and service issues and they were not resolve in a timely manner. I real disappointment.
We come here to enjoy a dining experience, Ruth Chris's atmosphere, their wonderful service and delicious food. That was our experience last night. We had lots of attention from servers and our waiter. The steaks and accompany dishes were excellent. We will be back.
We dined at Ruth's Chris for our 13th wedding anniversary. We had an early reservation for 5pm. It was an early dining time and we were seated almost immediately to our table. As we walked into the dining area, the staff had our booth ready with little hearts spread on the table which was a nice touch. It was very cold (to me) and as we were seated, I mentioned this to the hostess and she said she would adjust the temperature. I believe she did, and through most of the meal I was OK with a jacket on. It did get cooler toward the end of the experience. The service was excellent. The meal was delicious, but I would not consider this a romantic place to dine. An added surprise was that our server took a picture of us and we took it home as a memory of our anniversary. We also received a complimentary dessert of fruit, perfect for us since my husband is diabetic.
This restaurant has a reputation as a premier steakhouse and they are correct. EVERYTHING is first rate. There is nothing lacking in this restaurant. The only problem is occasional noise from a neighboring table. This is not a place for children. But food wise, you will not find a better quality steak and the mushroom side dish is the best I have had anywhere.
Service not good. Brought last appetizer 15 minutes after all others were delivered. Waiter forgot cappuccino with desert and we kept have my to remind waiter to bring more bread. Waiter forgot to bring birthday dessert and take picture. We had to ask to bring new desert and take picture. Temerature in Restaurant was very warm.
Have heard about Ruth's for years. I wanted to see that sizzling plate!
Finally the stars align and my wife and I go for date night while in Ft. Laud.
Server was hospitable. House Martini was great. Beet salad was really good.
Ambiance, bright for my taste.
Sides ok. Steak while tender enough to literally cut with a fork was again good, but not amazing. So honestly, it was my first and last. Not a knock on this specific location, just not my cup of tea.
I will say it was an amazing value, $46 per for 3 course meal.
We are regular diners at Ruth Chris and have never had a bad experience. Food is always excellent! Service was extremely slow to get cocktails, not busy on a Thursday night not sure of the problem. Our friends also thought service was a little off. We will definitely return and ask for Tommy who happened to be off Thursday. He is an amazing server!!
