Ruth's Chris Steak House - Edmonton Ratings and Reviews
I had heard great things about Ruth Chris, and was excited to try it out with a couple friends before a concert at the Shaw Centre. I personally am glad I went, but probably wouldn't be back. Cocktails are very over priced, but it is fine dining so it's understandable. I just felt 10 dollars for a Corona is a little excessive. Our server was very personable, but maybe relied a little too much on his helper. There were a few different times we had empty drinks, and empty water at our table and had to ask the servers helper to get the server for us to had refills. At the end of the meal, our bill came on one bill. When we asked to split it between the three different couples, our server seemed a little annoyed. The food was fantastic although, I recommend not going for the crab cakes. At 41.00 dollars to quality/quantity isn't there.
The food was good however steaks were not cooked to proper temperature. They offered to cook them longer (they were a bit rare) but we declined. Taste was there. Creme brûlée, scallops, and brussel sprouts were on point. Service is always stellar. However, disappointing for a steak house of that calibre the cook on the meat wasn't perfect. I personally expect more when your dining at that price point.
Excellent restaurant. The steak was cooked perfectly. One of the best steak I had in Edmonton. They will comp your parking at ATB underground, but beware that the doors to the ATB was closed when we got there around 8:00pm to retrieve my car. You will need to walk to the back of the ATB (south entrance) and ask the security to open the door to let you in.
The food was amazing, I very much enjoyed the lamb while my boyfriend had the stuffed chicken. The food was cooked perfectly, and expertly seasoned. The strawberry basil martini went perfectly with the cream brûlée dessert. The restaurant was so cozy, perfect for an intimate date night. The server was very good at helping us choose the drinks to go with our meal, as well as very informative on things to go see in the city.
Would love to go again next time we are in the city.
Food quality is not as good as few years ago.
We ordered the Petit Filet 3 course dinner sets.
The in house menu says 8 oz but it feels like less than 6 oz. Strangely there is no mention of steak size online.
In the past, they placed few potato chips under the filet to prevent the filet over cooking from the hot plate. This time, no chips find with our meals or other tables.
Food is cooked to our perfections. Lobster Bisque is excellent. Side dishes are great. I really like the one pound baked potato. Deserts are still beautiful and reasonable priced.
Services is okay compared to others in town.
Great food, the steak was perfect. One of our party had the Canadian cut, which he raved about. We also had the sautéed spinach, onion rings, and French fries, all of which were great. The onion were thick and crispy, served extremely hot. The fries were also served fresh from the fryer with a nice crisp outside.
