View Private Dining DetailsHusbands birthday... great meal and service!
The Waiter (AJ) was very personable, knowledgeable of the Menu and attentive to my guests specific questions and requests. The Food was prepared to everyone's satisfaction and beef cooked exactly as requested by each person in the party.
Service was great at the bar. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Everything was done with excellence! The food, the ambience and the service. Our waitress was the best. She was very accommodating and did everything to ensure we had a positive experience.
I had the small filet, and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Cooked a perfect medium-rare, melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned. Amazing dinner.
This is my 6th trip to a Ruth Chris and I left again totally uninspired. The food was just "okay". I had a ribeye cooked medium rare to perfection, but it was totally lacking any flavor. Same with the scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything just tasted bland. This was probably our last trip to a Ruth Chris. I seriously don't get what the draw is to this place. At least the Wilmington location has the nice river view. I felt like the ambiance at this location was lacking as well. I was facing a corner and stared at warped wall paper all night. The servers at this location seemed like rookies. Asking questions that they should have known the answers to at this type of establishment. (i.e. Does the food look ok to you? Did you have ice cubes in your water last time? Would you like some to go containers?) Just ask me if I would like to take my food home with me, then you whisk it away and bring it back all packed up in a sack. That's what I would expect in a 5 star restaurant. Don't bring containers and lay them on the table and then we have that awkward dance about who is packing it up. I have never been to a 5 star restaurant where they pack up your food at your table. A very disappointing experience all around.
AJ is awesome !!!!
Rainy night but it was nice and cozy inside. Lauren was a gracious and attentive server. The food and drinks were excellent as we shared several appetizers. RC is always reliable in taste and quality no matter which one we enjoy.
Our server, AJ, was attentive and anticipated our needs! Excellent service!
Fantastic steak and service as usual. This Ruth’s Chris never disappoints
Meal was good. We both had Filet and shrimp. We were the first ones in the restaurant.
This is a consistent stop for us on Friday evenings after my wife lands at RDU airport. Food is consistently good and great service.
Always enjoy Ruth Chris - one of my favorites. Tremendous service and food.
As always great meal and great service! Our server Richie was excellent!
While the meal was very good, I just don't understand the pricing being so high! The steaks aren't exceptional. We went there because my daughters wanted it for their birthday. I enjoyed my meal, love steak but it's no better than Texas Roadhouse, just way more expensive!
Wonderful food and wine for celebrating special occasions with family and friends. Beef is always outstanding. Attention is given to serving for the diner's comfort and enjoyment.
I had read some of the negative reviews prior to going to our diner reservation. We did not have any of the problems mentioned in the reviews. Our server John was excellent. Our food was served timely, hot and cooked as specified. Special thanks to Manger, Matt. We had a great dinner
Surprisingly poor service for Ruth Chris. The server was more interested in cleaning up the table so they could put stuff away then she was in either what we needed or getting the check. The rest of the waiters and staff were moving tables and rearranging the restaurant and setting up for opening The following day, a few yelling back-and-forth about basketball and a couple complaining that they had to move Tables.
Surprisingly and shockingly poor for Ruth Chris. I’ve generally had pretty positive experiences with them elsewhere.
Great food and great service. It was just a bit too crowded for my tastes. We had to ask to be moved to a cozier spot, but it still didn't feel cozy and romantic.
Waiter was warm, positive and friendly. Food including the wine was very good.
As always, meal was excellent. Server was personable but not very attentive. On Valentine's Day, one expects slower-than-average service; however, server did not appear to have too many tables. The wait to get drinks, dessert menu, check, etc. was much too long. My date and I were otherwise pleased with our dining experience, especially how quickly our entrees were prepared. The server experience will not keep us from returning!
Awesome. Always great service and food.
For Valentine's week, we went to Ruth's Chris Feb 14, but we went to Capital Grill Saturday, Feb 10. Ruth's 11 ounce fillet mignon steak was slighly better (more buttery), but the treatment was better at Capital grill. Capital presented my date a red rose. We received a between-course appetizer treat. And, while we did not order desert, Capital Grill brought us two mini-cheesecakes anyway, which were gratis.
With tip, I spent $300 at each restaurant. If in 2019 Valentine's Day should fall on a weekend (this year it fell on a Wednesday), then we will be eating at Capital Grill and skipping Ruth's Chris. It has become "just okay" for the money.
Finally, while Ruth's Chris did give me a $25 off coupon towards our next dinner there, it expires on March 30. I think expiration dates are for coupons from Burger King. I don't need any extra pressure in life to keep up with a 45-day expiration date. It's a very generous coupon, but it shouldn't expire so soon.
I think Ruth's Chris is a little overpriced. However, service was outstanding and our server, Christos, made some recommendations that we appreciated.
The Durham location didn’t honor my preference for a booth (seating).
Great service that never disappoints. Wonderful wine selection, great drinks
It was awful, the service was great but i had a long piece of air in my lobster.. That ruined it for me.
Fantastic ! Celebrated my anniversary!
It was our 22nd wedding anniversary
Our 48th Anniversary. Service was very good, food was great b
My husband and I visited during Restaurant Week. I made a reservation plenty of time ahead and a table was ready and waiting for us when we walked in a few minutes early. We were seated and given water promptly. The waitress came to ask if we had questions - although we were prepared to order immediately (thanks to the availability of the shortened online menu) she did not take our order and hurriedly left our table. We finally ordered and although the restaurant was not busy our first course came out at about average speed. My husband ordered the seafood/sausage gumbo. It was boasted to include sausage, shrimp, and crab meat. Within the bowl he received, there were two quarter slices of sausage, one shrimp, and no crab. He said the broth was amazing but not at all what he was expecting. My Caesar salad was very delicious and the size was absolutely perfect. We ordered the pork tenderloin and salmon as our entrees and added the scalloped potatoes and fiery corn as our sides. The corn was amazing and I highly recommend. The potatoes were under-seasoned but fine. My salmon was overcooked and way too salty. I covered it with the under-seasoned potatoes and it was balanced. Dessert was delicious. Overall, the $100 price tag was a bit much considering the food was slightly above average, but the atmosphere and service was very average. So at the end of the day, I'm not really sure what you're paying for when you go on a regular night. Underwhelming to say the least.
Great food and service but it was “restaurant week” in Durham and the crowd was a bit more “boisterous” than normal.
The food as always was excellent. The service also was excellent. We go to this restaurant at least 4 times a year and always on our anniversary.
Food and service were excellent as always. However, we were not prepared for the loud noise
level which was due to the restaurant week special. That will not prevent our returning there
for another fine meal and great service.
Tried this out during Triangle Restaurant Week. Excellent fixed price menu and good value. Christos was an outstanding server and the food was very good. Not the best steak I've ever had and not worth the full price, but it was great for a restaurant week option. You can get a comparable meal at a better value but you can't beat the authentic steakhouse atmosphere.
That was my first time visiting the establishment. The wait time was as expected for restaurant week. Good seating area, nice and quiet. Lighting was good. Waiter was lovely, however our food came an hour after we ordered. We noticed other patrons who came in after us was served their food before ours (we were party of 3). Food was amazing though, and he offered a free side of mashed potatoes for the wait. Drinks were good, and so was dessert. The bathrooms could use some work. Toilets weren't working properly, and no toilet tissue on top of that. Overall, nice visit.
From the start of our dining experience at Ruth Chris’s with the friendly, helpful, professional efficient staff to the satisfying dessert, we enjoyed it all. The food was delicious and I appreciate the attention the staff paid to my food allergy. Thank you!
AJ our server was amazing! We enjoyed the ‘restaurant week” prifixe menu with a few extras.
It was all delicious and amazing!
Everything was great in all aspects!
It was very crowded as usual for a Friday and restaurant week. My steak was undercooked, potato had large black spots throughout, and the steak was woefully under seasoned. I was pretty disappointed. The service was attentive but the fact that nothing was done to rectify missteps was surprising.
