We were celebrating lung cancer tumor regression after only 2 rounds of chemo/immunotherapy. We’ve always loved Ruth’s Chris and have been to many locations. Lynn, our server was great. He’s waited on our family a few times before and is always wonderful! We look forward to many more celebrations at Del Mar and other locations.
The service was initially very slow, almost as if there was confusion over what waiter had our table. Overall ok, but nothing special
Our waiter Michael and his assistants were all outstanding
We had excellent service Manager greeted us and then came by table to make sure everything was good.
We all had the pre-fix menu which had a good selection. Desert included was so-so, but can upgrade. Food is consistent and good.
The steaks were prepared as ordered and were delicious. The service was impeccable.
Everything about the experience was exceptional! Our waiter, Lynne, has a great sense of humor. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. The food was excellent and we are ready to go back. We will boast about the experience to all our friends. We want to thank Ruth’s Chris for making the experience memorable!
Great place for steak and lobster! Super amazing food and exceptional service!
Wonderful Easter meal. Eva treated us so well and the food was eggcellent!
First of all, I made reservation, showed up early, checked in and was ready for our Anniversary dinner
Now the problem.
Our booth was given to another customer - Even after I went back up to host and said we are waiting
Staff refused to give me our booth
Replaced with a table in louder area
Steak was VERY salty
Overall it was a terrible Anniversary dinner
Server was only positive side.
Even manager was non responsive, unhelpful and a bit arrogant.
I will NOT be returning to this restaurant.
SO much for the "call from the regional manager" as the local manager said I would be getting.
You guys need to remember your in a SERVICE industry, not a "Deal with it industry."
Awesome all around, best meal we’ve had in a long time and service was perfect!
Last year my daughter and I went on a father/daughter date to this Ruth's Chris and had an excellent time. So much so that for her birthday, she wanted to go back again. We arrived at the table setting having happy birthday confetti and the menu stating happy birthday with her name on the top, which she thought was great!
Unfortunately, those first 5 minutes were about as happy as we got. We ordered numerous menu items that were just plain average and certainly not worth the price. From the 16oz Ribeye that was ESPECIALLY fatty that we had to cut off a majority of it with steak knives that were about as dull as a butter knife. To the Lobster Mac and cheese and crab stack that were both overly fishy, to the french fries for my kids that were so uncooked, soggy and limp that my kids didn't bother eating them...Hopefully, this was just a one-time thing as we enjoy the location convenient to our house, but when you spend $250 dollars for dinner, your level of standards go up and this just didn't hit the mark on this trip.
The food was great. Nice view of the ocean. And the service by Casey was excellent. All added up to a great experience.
Good outstanding. Service and ambience excellent. We have eaten in other Ruth Chris’ but this is the best one yet!
We celebrated our anniversary on this particular visit. The service was outstanding as was the food. We have never been disappointed by any dining experience at a Ruth’s Chris, and we’ve visited locations all over the country as well as in Hong Kong and Taipei.
Excellent Restaurant. Far better than the one Downtown San Diego. This one is a Corporate owned and so much more enjoyable. Once you go to this location the rest seem basic and commercial. This location is what Ruth's Chris was always known for. Classy environment and high quality service with great food. If there was a 6 stars this place would get it. Worth the drive. We will be returning soon!
Our service was good but not great. Sometimes slow, as in not bringing the wine before the
food was served. Put in a corner near a very large party. Quite noisey. Food was good but
not fabulous. Many competitive steak houses now.
The filet mignon steak was medium to medium well, ordered medium rare. my friend ordered her rib eye medium well, and it came out medium according to her, by my view, it was medium rare. my other friend's well done was well done. The birthday girl decided not to send hers back, but mine was too tough and i had them redo it. the new one came back very rare inside, and seared on the outside. Who are they trying to kid? So they took it back in and made it medium rare. Gavce me a lame excuse "We dont know how to do this." For medium rare? Two of the last three times i have come in, they have had a problem with getting the steak correct. At least Yama the manager this time said he would get me a hot side when my steak came out. I have been coming to this store since it opened, and usually bring 10 - 15 international VIPs in for a meal, and never has this problem until the last year. I have not seen any of the suits on the floor since Bobbie and Billy left. How do you make sure the operation is going well if you are not on the floor? So the conclusion is they dont care.
It was wonderful!
Another fantastic visit to RC! Great food and solid service! We always enjoy our dinners at RC!
Malone was excellent!
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish! The service was superb and everyone was committed to making this a special evening for our group.
Always a wonderful place to dine. Our service was excellent as was our meal. Only down side we forgot our doggie bag
The food is so good here. The service is good but I felt a little rushed for the expense of the meal.
Our favorite place for steaks!! Always awesome service and on point!! Tasty food and great atmosphere!
No real negatives but not a truly great experience.
The sides were bad ... was offered another side it was bad... waiter did not tell manager who never came by to check on us. Very unlike what I expect from my favorite restersunt
Birthday dinner!
Food was fabulous.
Waiter was busy serving drinks for another table. No one refilled water glasses.
We always celebrate Valentines on a day other than the most crowded one of the year. We chose RC because we wanted to share a great steak. So glad we did. We had the same steak in Vegas about a year ago and this one was better. My favorite thing, besides the obvious...great steak....is that they serve their steaks on very hot plates. Hot plates are the key to savoring dinner. So many times my food becomes room temperature...on the cold side before I'm half finished. I do the same thing at home...warming drawer is key to keeping dinner warm on the plate.
-Made reservations for 8pm, and waited 15min to be seated.
+Waiter greeted us by our party name.
- -Had to ask for house bread and plates.
++Entrees were excellent as expected. Cowboy Ribeye was excellent.
- -Waiter could have checked in on us more often.
-Dessert selection was limited.
+Desserts ordered were above average.
- -Bus staff lagged and was not well trained.
+Overall experience was good.
Everything was fabulous, as usual!!!
We prefer to be seated in a certain section of the dining room and they save that info in their guest history so we don't even have to ask.
My family is always quite pleased with the extremely high quality with the food and service.
We highly recommend this dining experience!
The food was just awesome. It is expensive, but the food was worth it. The service is always good and the mule drink was very tasty. This is why we come back time after time.
Good night with my sweetheart
All was well until the busboy spilled an entire glass of water on me. It also got into my purse, which was next to my chair. He gave me a couple of cloth napkins, but they are not absorbent. I began taking things out of my purse to dry them and spill out about 4 oz if water sitting in it. The manager came over to inquire if my iPhone still worked (it did). He sent two unordered deserts to the table — cheesecake with ice cream (weird). My ice cream came with a hair garnish. The manager then came over to see if we were satisfied (my silk blouse and pants were soaked and I wanted to leave) with the free deserts. I replied that my ice cream had a 2” brown hair and that had we wanted desert, it would have been chocolate. A piece of espresso-chocolate cake arrived. My husband, who hates coffee, took a bite and was grossed out. Manager again. This time, the unwanted desert was lava cake - again only one serving with one fork. And the manager came back. When I told him that we just wanted the check, he looked at me as though I was an ingrate, and haughtily informed me that he had comped our sides. So ... my clothes had to go to the dry cleaner, my wallet is ruined, I left without half of my steak which was boxed up on the now wet table, covered with 5 unordered and unwanted deserts, and this guy is acting like he saves our Valentines Day dinner by comping us $22 of food. Not hardly. And no apology from anybody except the busboy.
The food, no matter what you order, cannot be beat. The portions are filling. The hospitality is warm, friendly and sincere ... and the atmosphere, most inviting.
I love this place the waiter we had is awesome which made a huge impact in our experience. He was attentive and respectful. I just wish I remember his name. I also love that they don’t mind our 6month old baby crying they actually played with him and I didn’t felt any pressure. Overall it was a good experience and food is excellent!
Our waiter wasn't attentive, he'd be better off valet parking.
We were pretty pleased with our experience this time, however were disappointed at their unwillingness to allow us to PAY MORE to upgrade our steak in a combo they had. Our meal had an 11oz filet, so judging by the price of the individual filet vs a more expensive cut of meat, we should have just been able to pay the difference and get the cut we wanted. Seems a logical move to keep your LONG time customers happy - but they fell short this time.
