Food was awesome but service not so great. I got a filthy glass. Waited a very long time for the waitress to come back to the table to get a new one. The waitress tended to other guess and not my table. The entire time I was there the waitress checked on the table 2 times. I had to wait an extended period for a refill as well.
Food was fabulous. Salvatore and all the wait staff were incredible You need to place a light or something when you walk down the 3 stairs. When you walk in from the outdoors, you don’t see the separate steps and I missed one. Someone is going to fall and hurt themselves and it won’t be pretty.
Otherwise, everything was wonderful.
Birthday. Decorated the table, brought us desert. Will do it again!
The employee named Salvador is really a great waiter. Extremely polite, dedicated and kind.
Steaks came right on top of salad clearing. Not good. Ordered old fashion and pretty sure I got manhattans. Why am I pretty sure? The first cocktail tasted like it had sweet vermouth in it. And neither cocktail had your candied cherry. If I was alone, I’d have said something, but it’s awkward to do so when your family is there for a birthday.
Great experience. Second time at Ruth’s Chris and they are consistently excellent no matter the location.
I ordered the steak salad, having had a huge lunch but also wanting to simply enjoy a big bowl of lobster bisque and martinis. I did not realize it did not come with steak on the salad!
When it arrived (basically a pile of lettuce and two tiny tomatoes, I asked where the meat was and frankly they told me a bit condescendingly that other restaurants name their house salad the steak salad. They did not offer to take it off the bill or take it back. They did, However, offer to bring a filet for me to put on it, which would have cost so much more!
I was really surprised at the cost for basically our one teenager to eat a full meal and me to have soup and my husband to have chicken.
Post-Mother’s Day dinner. Service was superb. Food was just ok. Tomato crab soup was odd. Not a great flavor combination. Banana cheesecake was very small, and didn’t taste well at all. Ribeye was not as well-marbled as I am used to. Tasted ok though. Great bbq shrimp.
Accommodated non alcohol driver with mock champagne. 3 people served wrong steaks. Service was a bit too slow even though they were not busy.
I am very disappointed with the restaurant service.
1. Did not get seated: We dropped my mom and my sister off at the restaurant and went to park my car. I got back within 10 mins and my mom and my sister were sitting in the hallway waiting to be seated. We asked why can’t they sit my family first. They responded they want the whole party to arrive to get everybody on the same pace. In which, my family could have looked at the drink menu while waiting. The restaurant was empty and we have a reservation anyways.
2. Did not get appropriate service: we got seated and our waiter came. He didn’t explain the menu to us. He did not refill our drinks during the meal. While he explained how the restaurant prepare and cook the steak, praised how lovely and pretty their family is.
The ambiance was very stunning and sophisticated! There were others dining of course but everyone was in our own world & our respective tables. My mother enjoyed every second the experience! My boyfriend’s cowboy ribeye covered the entire plate and was pink inside to his perfection. The jolly rancher shots that our waiter (who happens to be the house bartender) made for us got 6 thumbs up, twice! There were just a few minor things I would’ve change and/or improved. Otherwise, this was a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch for each of us. I was especially proud that I picked this place & made my reservation with ease vis a vis Open Table. ... this place was so great it seemed like I sweat over all these plans months in advance & I only reserved the place 2.5 hours sooner!
Ruth's Chris was exceptional overall but this visit was better than most. We did have an issue and the manager and the team worked quickly and efficiently to take care of it. Our Calamari was too salty to eat which sometimes happens and they took it off of our charge and gave us a shrimp appetizer that was exceptional at no charge. Great Team and we will be back!!
Very attentive and great service
Awesome experience and great food!!! Will be returning. Also, even though we made reservations, there was no wait and the restaurant was practically empty.
Anniversary, year 2
Everything and everyone was wonderful. Excellent food and excellent service. Our waiter Mike was very good and attentive to all our needs.
Ruth's Chris brand has been around forever, but it is still fabulous. The downtown Dallas location has not been there too long and still seems to be a big secret as it was not totally full. But the food and service were impeccable. It was busy but not too loud. We will definitely go back.
Hostesses greeted us warmly, got us swiftly to our table. Ambience is amazing enjoyed our meal Caesar salad was a tad dry but otherwise everything was wonderful!!!! Thanks for an amazing experience again!!! We will return!!!😀
Overall fantastic experience! The large filet was perfectly cooked, tasty; and the fingerling potatoes were wonderful. Very nice birthday dessert. Neat bar! Great Martini and nice uptown location.
Love Ruth Chris
Three of us dined at Ruth Chris in Uptown, and each of us ordered different things, yet we all agreed that it was one of the best meals we'd ever had. (My sea bass was extraordinary, which is high praise for a restaurant called a "steak house".) Great ambiance, food was fabulous, service was perfect (Alicia took care of us), not too noisy, very nice furnishings and decor. We liked it much better than the Ruth Chris on the Dallas Parkway. We'll definitely return many times.
Spinach was cold. Once it came back out we were done.
Was not impressed with the cuts nor the service. I'm used to an upbeat waiter that is eager to talk about the menu. He instrcuted us to read the first page (which was full of info - not "specials") when I asked what the highlights or features were. It felt very much "second tier" steak house. Maybe I'm spoiled by Nick and Sam's, but the entire thing felt very second rate in comparison to that steak house.
Was a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. Steak was perfect! Crab tower was excellent. Service was fantastic.
I’ve been to multiple Ruth’s Chris locations and I’ve always left impressed, so I was in shock at the quality of food and service here at the Dallas location. We should have listened to other reviews. Our steak was overcooked, our broiled lobster tail was the size of a piece of shrimp and it was overcooked and COVERED in lawrys salt. It was absolutely disgusting. I don’t know what’s going on with this location, but it’s the worst steakhouse I’ve ever been to. Save yourself the trouble and do not dine here.
Went there for our wedding anniversary and they had placed hearts on our table and had a card that said happy anniversary waiting on the table. Perfect service and it was absolutely the best steak we had ever eaten.
A great place to reward your business associates for a job well done. Incredible steaks with the fun of sharing side dishes amongst the table.
Dani was an amazing server! We were late and still received the beat level of service. Not a single complaint.
We were somewhat taken aback by the attire worn by other diners. If that attire was business casual, it was barely so. Rarely have we seen as many tattoos in a white tablecloth fine restaurant like Ruth's Chris. Thank you.
Steak was initially over cooked and then brought back a raw cut. Bad experience on food. Great service. Would not recommend.
Cocktails and dinner was perfect in every way. We really enjoyed a spectacular evening in a cozy and upscale environment. Looking forward to our next visit.
Good food, good service, great value!
I love Ruth Chris! The ambiance is impeccable and great customer service. However, my shrimp was cold and steak was warm. I asked for my dessert to go and didn’t get my ice cream. For $200 I would expect perfection. Other than that all was well. The blueberry mojito was amazing!! Lobster Mac and Cheese is my favorite! A great way to celebrate me and my partners new business venture.
Best steak ever !! Loved the Lobster MAC. Sweet potato casserole was a pleasant surprise very tasty. They also have us a nice dessert to celebrate our Anniversary!
It was an awesome experience! I have been multiple times and each time the overall experience gets better and better each time.
Food was fantastic and service was outstanding!
Filet was cooked to perfection and lobster bisque was fabulous! Excellent service, great atmosphere, complimentary valet was a nice bonus.
I've dined here several times. Most of those were good experiences, but tonight's was terrible in all meaningful respects. Our waitress got the order wrong. The corrected order was cooked improperly and late. The waitress was never able to be located and she only had one other table to attend to for most of our visit the. I'm never going to go back. This was always a.nearby stand, but never again there are at least a half dozen other steakhouses within a mile or less that nail it every time at the same price point. When I drop $400 on a dining experience I expect it to be supurb, not a failure. Go to Morton's, DelFriscos, Perry', Capital Grill, or Bob's. Let Ruth's Chris steakhouse wither and close up as it should.
All of our sides came out cold. Martini had a flavor and it was not supposed to. The filet’s would have been excellent if we hadn’t decided to leave. Too many mistakes for us and this is two times in a row. We ate there a few weeks prior and had challenges also. This was probably our last visit to this Ruth’s Chris.
