Service was very poor, waited forever for waitress, had to ask 3 times for dark napkin, food took forever, and even check in was slow. No one at desk, then she answered phone even though a line of people. Will not be back, will go to Connecticut ave
Love the service it was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive. Food arrived on time and still sizzling as if it was right out the oven. Everything was delicious. I had a salad, 6oz filet with shrimp and the creme brulee for dessert. Highly recommended!!
Bad service kept forgetting about us my drink was always empty
I took my son for his birthday, reservations were made in advance as he had been there before and loved it. Unfortunately this time the service was poor, the waitress had the server bring out the appetizer and main dish at the same time. The server said, no butter or parsley and set down a dirty plate. When I pointed out that the plate was clearly soiled, he said I'll get you a clean one. We asked for the steak to be medium; it was clearly medium well to well done and it was dry. We asked the waitress why all the food came out at the same time and her response was-I don't know. When explained about the steak she offered to get us a new one. We waited close to 1/2hr which was ok, but had to eat only appetizers and sides with no spoon, a little tricky with the creamed spinach. When we finally got the porterhouse for 2, the temperature was fine but the meat was pure grizzle; even the filet mignon was pure fat and unable to be cut. Needless to say we could not eat it. The only positive I could say was that the manager came over to help us out and comped our whole meal with the dessert included for my son's birthday. The manager was apologetic and very attentive and professional. It is a shame as we have often frequented Ruth's Chris in NY and here once before, but unfortunately we will not be revisiting the DC location.
Had a group of 8 and although they were fill managed to accommodate. The food of course was very good and as always, great service. A bit pricey perhaps, but it is an upscale spot.
I had a reservation four days prior and had confirmed thru the email and the phone call I received but yet when I got there the table was not available I had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. Later on I received an email from opentable “we missed you tonight”
They definitely had an off night. Everyone was nice but the service and food prep was not what you come to expect from RC. They comp’d a dessert up charge....seemed like a weak response given the experience.
Service was slow and meat not prepared as ordered even after sending it back.
Excellent food and service
Wonderful food, however, we had our young daughter with us and wanted to substitute French fries from kids menu for a baked potato that she loved. Waitress came back and claimed it could not be swapped, even though the kids meal was already $14.00. Really????? One baked potato??????? Ridiculous.
Colossally overpriced, but food was good. Service was just ok.
Super nice for Valentine’s Day, they gave us a rose and $25
Did the Ruth’s Classic again. Great salad, ribeye cooked as requested and creamed spinach never disappoints. Natasha did a great job as always. Hostess could not have been more attentive.
Great food but terrible service experience.
Wow, where to begin. This place has been the BEST Ruth's Chris I have ever been to. They are so genuine, kind and professional! I like to mention these 5 (although there are many others at this location) individuals that made Valentine's the most memorable in my 39 years. Tia is always great to work with. Max our waiter is excellent, she is so sweet and on point. Super friendly and hope to work with her again. Yinka and Jamelle made EVERYTHING so special for my guest and I. Literally I had purchased a dozen red roses and some godiva chocolate and asked if they could have them placed on the table upon my arrival. My guest was amazed (as was I) on how perfect they made everything! Every detail, from even putting some rose pedals on the table and set in a very quite location. I really thank you! I would also like to mention Ms.Elizabeth. Everytime I call Ruth's Chris, see is so pleasant. Bravo to all, you would make Ruth Fertel proud!!!
Our server was great as always and the food was good.
Jamelle was a waiter at another Ruth's Chris, and now a Manager! I knew he would bring extra leadership. He is excellent and a great team player I am so happy for him. Yinka is the GM and they both ROCK!! Kudos
Jamelle the Manager ROCKS ! He makes you feel welcome.
This is my favorite Ruth's Chris location; the atmosphere is less stuffy than others we have been to. The meal was good. However, after a similar meal at an independent steakhouse with one location, I will say it was not great. Given the prices at RC, this was a disappointment. The bar menu looked good, and a much better value. Our waitress provided exceptional service and was the bright spot of the visit.
25th Birthday Celebration
This dinner was awful start to finish. Even though we had made a reservation well in advance, the hostess tried to seat our party of 7 at 2 separate tables. When we objected, she pulled 2 tables together but we never got the proper set up. It took 25 minutes to get cocktails. The appetizers were all brought out at different times. My steak was well and tough even though I ordered medium. One guest was told 30 minutes after ordering Tuna that they were out. The second item he ordered in place of the Tuna, they came back later to say they were out of, as well. The sides were brought without spoons to serve them. I could go on and on with the examples of sloppy service and poor food quality. And there was no offer to make any amends for the evening. It was a very expensive meal-We would have had a better experience at a Longhorn. I would NOT recommend this restaurant!
Great meal but chicken was really dry. Great service. Good ambiance...
Love this location and the valet parking is reasonable. Food was great.
The establishment was over booked for restaurant week and we ended up having to wait 45 minutes to be seated.
I went to Ruth's Chris for restaurant week. I had previously been to the Crystal City location for happy hour and enjoyed it. The restaurant week menut was small but contained a petite filet, bbq shrimp, and a variety entree. The appetizers were a garden salad or a ceasar. The only offering for dessert was a cheesecake. I tried the 'Mixed Grill' with creamed spinach. The mixed grill has a 4oz filet, a chicken quarter stuffed with cheese, and about a .5 oz crabcake. We were served warm bread to begin our meal. The waiter was very plesant. However, I ordered a medium and my friend ordered a medium well. I received a well done filet and I assume she received mine, however it was still medium rare. They took the filets back, cooking her a new one, however, since mine was under they just refired it and served me the same piece of meat, eventhough it had already been cut though. I would have preferred a new piece of meat, especially since my food was served to someone else, and its a chain I'm sure they could afford to serve me a new 4oz filet. Overall my experience was good and I enjoyed all the food. I may visit again.
very great service and food
Dinner and service were great. Staff was very attentive and made our celebration very special!
Simply outstanding atmosphere! The service was awesome and the food was superb in both quality and quantity- Very hot and tasty!
Great service, wonderful food just a bit on the pricey side. Would go back but only for a special day.
Great food and great service!
This place is awazing. Jamelle is an amazing leader. Best place in DC!
Never fails! Ribeye was perfect as was the creamed spinach and Caesar salad.
Our waiter was great!!! Food was great as usual! Ruth Chris never fails when it comes to a quality dining experience.
This is my favorite place to go. They fix things that I can’t fix at home.
Our waitress was excellent. We arrived early but they sat us anyway. Very nice dinner.
For a steakhouse charging $50+/steak you would assume the steaks would be cooked to perfection. Not so. My medium NY Strip was no less than medium-well and my wife’s medium filet was well done and charred in certain places. If this were Golden Corral no one would care. But Ruth’s Chris should do better. For a truly amazing dining experience at a similar price there is no reason not to go to The Capital Grille just down the street. Combined with the table of 10 seated next to us that had a small child yelling “mommy” for 45 minutes, our dining experience was less than ideal. No doubt, the “mommy”’kid was not the restaurant’s fault, but combined with the crappy steak it made for an even crappier experience. Further, when an appetizer of crab-stuffed mushrooms is brought out in about 180 seconds, it makes me skeptical as to the freshness of said crab-stuffed mushrooms. Me thinks these crabs and mushrooms were zapped in a microwave. The taste did nothing to dissuade my theory.
The lobster and steak wasn't as good as expected. Have tasted better during other visits to the restaurant. Mojito was just average.
For the price, I personally prefer other restaurants for the food. My dad loves Ruth’s Chris so we came here for his birthday. It’s great service and ambience, but the food itself is pricey for the taste.
Service was delayed. Sat 10 mins without being greeted. Food was great! Server just wasn’t very attentive.
