Very bad service, provide us a menu with specials we ordered it then came back later to try and charge more money, bc they gave us wrong menu. At the prices we paid you would think there priorities would be customer service not a bait and switch, bad service
Great meal. Wonderful service. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and very polite to all. Would definitely go again.
This place is solid. Definitely a restaurant to go while in DC!
My adult daughter and I went to Ruth's Chris for dinner. My daughter is physically disabled but mentally fine. We go to expensive DC restaurants at least once a week. We followed our usual routine. We asked for a booth and ordered steak dinners. We each had one drink with dinner. We then planned to have one drink with dessert. My daughter went to the bar to look at the after dinner drinks while I sat at the booth reading the dessert menu. The waiter came over and announced that the manager would not let me daughter have another alcoholic drink. He said he was just the messenger and apologized. He knew my daughter was perfectly sober. He had no explanation and the manager never bothered to come over. I immediately asked for the check to leave. On our way out, my daughter spoke to the hostess and the manager, who had been lurking around the corner to make sure we got out, appeared. I demanded to know why she would not let my daughter have a drink when she was not intoxicated. She claimed she had to take care of safety of guests. I said "what guests?" I take care of my daughter. She then claimed some other customers reported that my daughter was nodding her head and looking around strangely in the booth. I said I now get it-your customers are offended by having to eat in sight of a disabled person. This is discrimination. She claimed it wasn't discrimination but a safety issue, although she could not explain what safety issue. I told her I was writing a scathing review of her conduct and she said"No you won't". I told her I certainly would. Just within the last 2 months, my daughter and I had dinner at Marcel's, Del Frisco's, Bobby Van's, Oceannaire, and Capital Grill. In every case, my daughter was treated with the utmost respect and dignity by the managers who personally came by our table. None refused my daughter two drinks with her expensive dinner. I would not advise any disabled person to go to Ruth Chris. Try the others listed above.
Server was horrible.....never came over to ask if we needed anything!!!!! Never want home to wait on me again
It was a Mother’s Day dinner . I always come to this location because the service is always superb . The staff is attentive and the food is delicious .
My family has been coming to Ruth's Chris for years - special occasions, anniversaries, holidays, birthdays, etc. Our experience this past Saturday was just average. The service was great, the setting was great. However, the food, which is usually fantastic, missed the mark. Two of our steaks just weren't up to par. My daughter's steak was burned to a crisp outside and blood red inside - definitely not what she ordered. My steak had an "aftertaste" which I found unusual. Don't know why, and I thought at first it was me until I offered a bite to my son who (without prompting) said that the steak tasted "off." And it did. Not up to your usual standards. I did not send it back because my daughter had already sent hers back. Needless to say, we were quite bummed out, but said nothing since we'd had such excellent food in the past and just thought the chef was having a bad night. Considering the price of the food I should have spoken out. Whatever. We do plan on visiting Charlie Palmer Steak in the near future. I'm hoping our experience there does not outweigh our usually great experience at Ruth's Chris because it has been one of my favorite restaurants.
Had a great time as usual. This is truly the best Ruth's Chris I have ever been to. Elizabeth is a superb manager and really makes you feel comfortable. I worked with Erica and she was AMAZING! She had a lot of people, but she acted as though I was her only table. She had great recommendations. Both Alivia and Ben were supporting Erica, and together made my guests feel extremely comfortable. Kudos and thanks!
Everyone was really sweet and we had a lot of fun!
Favorite steak house in DC.
I had a great time! Food was delicious as usual. I had the opportunity to woth with Veranika...she was checking in with me though out the dinner and offered great wine selections! Thanks, Alan
Great for business meetings!
I didnt feel as if we received the normal service i wasnt happy with my drink and i also wasnt happy with how long the service took
I was welcomed as usual...like family. I worked with Mei who is extremely friendly and made sure I was happy. Elizabeth Manager on duty came by several times to ensure all is well...great addition to the team. The next day a get a call from the General Manger to ask if everything was good and that I enjoyed myself. Talk about going above and beyond. Great job!
It was good.
Excellent as always. I love this particular Ruths Chris. Great service, fabulous food.
As always, on point!
Amazing beef!!! They have an excellent wine list with affordable prices. 😋
The food is always reliable at Ruth Chris and this dinner was no exception. Steaks cooked perfectly, other appetizers and "sides" very good. The only complaint if any was the speed of service. We have dined here a couple of times I the past 2 months and both times, the service is quite slow - very friendly and attentive but slow nonetheless. Most of this seems related to initial bar orders so perhaps the bar is understaffed. Once we made our dinner order, the food arrived in a fairly timely manner but even when we finished dinner and were trying to make it to the Capitals game, we had to chase down our server to get the bill. Since we were all wearing Caps gear, it shouldn't have been any surprise that we need to get to the game. And we booked a reservation 2 hours before game time so gave ourselves plenty of time.
Service was lousy and inattentive. Had to wait 20 minutes for proper cocktail; and then only received glass of wine in time for last bite of ribeye.
Steak plate was so hot that oil spattered on my pants.
Steak was uninspired.
Decor was like funeral parlor.
Would never go back.
Service slow and inexperienced
Very nice service and pleasant attitude.
Greeters were snobby. Food with OK, service was good. Probably wouldn’t go back.
The best of all Ruth’s Chris, and that’s saying something. Slow to seat you, and seat you in the cheap seats if you’re early. Service is subpar for this franchise. Still, the kitchen more than made up for the inferior service and management.
Thank you to the Ruth Chris team for making my boyfriend's birthday dinner so special! Maya was fantastic!
We had “heard” about the Ruth’s Chris experience but had never had the opportunity to book a reservation until now. It was a fabulous experience during our visit to DC. Within walking distance from The Marriott Marquis, it was convenient and in a great location. The staff was very attentive and appreciated our business. We loved the Ruth’s Classic, an all inclusive 4 course option, that included all the best of the best options at a great price. Each course was perfection. The steak, best ever, served on a sizzling plate so every savored bite was as hot as the first. The atmosphere was rich, elegant and oh so luxurious to compliment the exceptional dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will come back.
Wonderful dinner to celebrate our anniversary. They even had a card, confetti on the table and a free dessert!
My family had Easter dinner at the location in DC. This was our first time at this location. We normally make it a weekend and eat at the location in Baltimore. I ordered a medium filet. Well when it came out it was more like medium well/well done. Because they had to redo my steak I ended up eating by myself. They served the steak on the same plate that had been in 500 degrees oven. (The waitress warned us not to touch the plate.) So basically when the steak was served it was still cooking. I transported my steak to a cool plate to prevent it from cooking more because I like my steaks pink throughout. Who thought that this was a good idea? I would rather get my steak on a clean room temperate plate versus a dirty looking hot plate. Anyways, I hope this behavior is contained to this location. As I don't remember this type of presentation in Baltimore. The steak and lobster macaroni and cheese was delicious but I don't think we will return to this location.
Good as always
The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. The food was mediocre. The lobster bisque tasted as if it was charred, our steak was seasoned simply, but well. The cream spinach was tasty after adding salt and pepper.
What a disappointing experience at this location. We had a very nice server, but everything else was so eh at this location that I can’t believe the door said Ruth’s Chris and not Outback Steakhouse when we left. There were noisy children all around, the food was served lukewarm, a martini tasted like the only ingredient was olive juice and had been sitting on the bar for 30 minutes before served. What an awful experience. Ruth’s is better than this.
My guest and I had a wonderful time. This restaurant is by far one of the best Ruth's Chris ever, and I have been to over 25. I had the pleasure working with Natasha who is AWESOME! Extremely seasoned, polite and uber friendly. When you walk into this place you get a warm vibe. That is because they all do their best to make you feel welcome. As always thank you!
Food was very good. Service was excellent. We sat near kitchen door so it wasn’t very quiet. There were a lot of people moving around which was distracting. I had a blackberry boxcar which was good, but a little bit difficult to sip through a straw. It was expensive but that was expected. Lobster Mac and cheese is the best I’ve ever eaten.
Food is excellent! Service is amazing
Service was very poor, waited forever for waitress, had to ask 3 times for dark napkin, food took forever, and even check in was slow. No one at desk, then she answered phone even though a line of people. Will not be back, will go to Connecticut ave
Love the service it was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive. Food arrived on time and still sizzling as if it was right out the oven. Everything was delicious. I had a salad, 6oz filet with shrimp and the creme brulee for dessert. Highly recommended!!
Bad service kept forgetting about us my drink was always empty
I took my son for his birthday, reservations were made in advance as he had been there before and loved it. Unfortunately this time the service was poor, the waitress had the server bring out the appetizer and main dish at the same time. The server said, no butter or parsley and set down a dirty plate. When I pointed out that the plate was clearly soiled, he said I'll get you a clean one. We asked for the steak to be medium; it was clearly medium well to well done and it was dry. We asked the waitress why all the food came out at the same time and her response was-I don't know. When explained about the steak she offered to get us a new one. We waited close to 1/2hr which was ok, but had to eat only appetizers and sides with no spoon, a little tricky with the creamed spinach. When we finally got the porterhouse for 2, the temperature was fine but the meat was pure grizzle; even the filet mignon was pure fat and unable to be cut. Needless to say we could not eat it. The only positive I could say was that the manager came over to help us out and comped our whole meal with the dessert included for my son's birthday. The manager was apologetic and very attentive and professional. It is a shame as we have often frequented Ruth's Chris in NY and here once before, but unfortunately we will not be revisiting the DC location.
Had a group of 8 and although they were fill managed to accommodate. The food of course was very good and as always, great service. A bit pricey perhaps, but it is an upscale spot.
I had a reservation four days prior and had confirmed thru the email and the phone call I received but yet when I got there the table was not available I had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. Later on I received an email from opentable “we missed you tonight”
