Food is outstanding and the service is very good but the Dupont/Conn Ave location is in bad need of renovation. Carpets and furniture are worn & dingy.
My friends and I were celebrating a birthday. The table was decorated with confetti and the birthday girl was surprised by the happy birthday message on the dessert. The room was quiet and we were probably disturbing the peace. LOL! But the restaurant was very accommodating. Food was good with generous portions. And our server Lynika (I may have misspelled) was charming and attentive.
My boyfriend took me here for my 21st birthday, for us being so young and coming into such nice restaurant like this and not be frowned upon based on stereotypes of younger people eased our minds and made us feel so comfortable. This was such a great date/celebration and our waiter Ruben was amazing he made us feel so welcomed. On top of that it was such a beautiful set up there was birthday confetti on the table and window seating it was overall great. The food was amazing too def recommend the bbq shrimp as soon as it touches your taste buds jesusssssss amazing. Definitely would recommend everyone to go ❤️❤️❤️❤️
They accommodated our large party at relatively short notice with ease and professionalism. the steaks and the sides were wonderful and the service and atmosphere was great. my rist time but not my last.
Service was VERY slow. 30 minutes to get our drinks. 3 hours to get through meal.
Expensive - but worth every dollar.
Was visiting from the UK for a few days with friends, had dinner here on our last day and it completes a great trip and made it very special. Great wine options and food was faultless!
Great. Staff awesome
Great meal as usual
A belated Valentine’s Day dinner. My girlfriend loved it!
The waiter didn’t come to our table to wait on us so we went to the bar. This was the first time I visited this location and the last.
Loud noise from Bar into Dinner area. Unwelcoming waiter fo making tablea and Table water. Friendly waiter for serving food though. Steak was not that good quality meat. Nice winelist for wines per glass. Comparing to other visits to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse this was not the finest.
Simon took great care of us.
Great food. Great service. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Waited for 10 minutes for a table in the almost completely empty dining room. After being led to our table, hostess discovered the table had not been set. We were asked to wait for 2 minutes. 10 minutes later, the hostess set the table herself. We sat and waited on a server for 10 more minutes. He appeared and realized we didn’t have menus. At this point we decided to leave. It was clear from the moment we entered the restaurant that it was not going to live up to our expectations. Amazingly bad experience for restaurant week.
Never a disappointment. We had a late reservation but our event ended early so we decided to see if they would seat us early, the manager went out of her way to bring out chairs for the bar so we could be seated. The Bartenders were all EXCELLENT...Christian,Aaron and Jasmine! They never missed a beat! The food was served quickly and was on point! This has to be my favorite location thus far.
Food was great! Steak was cooked perfectly and love the restaurant week menu and choices. However, our waitress provided poor service with no apologies. Not that she had an attitude, very polite, but very very very slow. An hour dinner, turned into two and half ours. Even took 20 minutes to pick up check. That is ridiculous!
As a restaurant, Ruth Chris has always been an all-time favorite of my wife and mine. However, although we've been to other locations, the Connecticut Avenue location in DC seems to shine by having the best food and ambiance of all, as well as the greatest service! We usually visit on our most special occasions and try to get in a few more visits for date nights and whenever we have an overwhelming taste for a great Ruth Chris steak. Our most recent visit was during Restaurant Week in DC and their special menu included a trio of steak, crab cake, and stuffed chicken, which was absolutely amazing. All three were sheer perfection! They really should consider making the trio available all the time! Ruth Chris will always be one of our #1 spots to visit for the very best of fine dining!
Truly enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. Our server was fantastic. We sat by the window and really enjoyed being able to view the city activity during the afternoon.
Steak was not as good as I’m used to.
everything was great!
outstanding as always. one of my favorite Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
Great service. Well seasoned steaks. Will come back for steak cravings
Great time, great food.
I reserve a party of 15. they set us in the back by the bathroom. one guy went to the bathroom and blew the whole dinner party away with the smell he left in the bathroom and it lingered. the waiter was nice enough to move us to another location in the restaurant. it was my girlfriend birthday, Ruth Chris could had at least took some items off the bill since we spent a lot of money. oh well lesson learned.
My wife and I went here to finish our trip to DC. Food was amazing and server the a great job. Although, at the beginning it seemed he had forgotten about us, but after some tables left, it was a lot better. Had a great time and enjoyed the food a lot!
Don't sit in the glad enclosed area of it's cold outside. It's incredibly drafty and cold. Food? Service? Can't be beat.
My husband took me to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for my birthday dinner while vacationing in Washington DC. I must say the food was excellent.
Surprised the boyfriend with dinner.
The food, service and ambiance were amazing! Kudos to the general manager, Kimberly, for ensuring our experience was amazing.
I would say that Ruth’s Chris has slipped over the years from being a top notch steakhouse to being a mediocre one. My 11oz filet was ok, but it was not one of the inches thick center cut beauties I’ve had in the past. I’d recommend going to BLT or the Palm instead.
Great Christmas Dinner! Third time having Christmas dinner here since our move to DC. As a native of New Orleans, it is my home away from home restaurant. If we are in DC next year for Christmas, we will be dining at Ruth Chris!
Christmas dinner at Ruth’s Chris on Connecticut Avenue was wonderful! Our waiter, Roberto, was awesome and the food was delicious. It’s our 4th Christmas dining there. We truly enjoy the food and service. Perfect for Christmas dinner.
Ruths Chris is perfection - and on Christmas Eve it was cozy and perfect for a meal with friends. This is my favorite restaurant hands down.
My wife and I have visited Ruth Chris restaurants in over a dozen locations with excellent food; with the exception of this restaurant. We had dinner on Christmas eve 2017 and the service was excellent. We both ordered surf and turf. Both fillets were not cooked even close to the way we ordered them and the lobster was not editable. The waiter noticed that we did not eat the lobster and offered to take it off the bill. We didn't want anything other than the nice dinner we expected. The service staff understood, but the cooks didn't get it.
We celebrated our Anniversary and they made our night very special, from having red hearts and red arrow confetti already on our table to the staff wishing us an Happy Anniversary and finally a special desert just for us with hand written chocolate Happy Anniversary! I can not say enough about how AMAZING our entire meal was from start to finish. The staff was also AMAZING and very attentive the entire meal. I would highly recommend Ruth Chris for any occasion.
The food is amazing here, would recommend their Cowboy Steak. By far the greatest steak I have ever had. Lots to chose from the menu. Our waiter was fantastic, great service - waiter was extremely knowledgable about the menu and knew what we would like. Would definitely come again and looking forward to it!
This was a disappointing experience, especially when the establishment has been great in the past and has a very good reputation. After being seated promptly, we waited far to long to see a waiter. The drinks took 20 minutes to be delivered, and we were never asked if we wanted another round. The order took far to long to be delivered. The steaks were over cooked -- I ordered medium rare and got one that was well done. Those sizzling plates continue to cook the steaks way past the requested temperature as it is, but my steak was medium well done when it was delivered. Also be careful when ordering -- not all cuts are USDA Prime grade.
Great food and staff
I made a reservation through open table for Thanksgiving dinner. I arrived on time at 7:30 to find at least 5 different families, dissatisfied and waiting to be seated - some over 1.5 hours. The restaurant overbooked on a holiday which is rather amateur and not what I'd expect from Ruth's Chris. I waited 45min. to be seated only to be given a seat at the bar because a table was unavailable. Who eats Thanksgiving dinner at the bar? If I didn't already wait so long to be seated I would've left. The bartenders were obviously busy and it took over ten minutes to just be given a menu. Once I did place my order I waited awhile for my food to arrive. I was seated beside noisy patrons but it's the bar so I couldn't really complain. Overall, my experience was horrible.
