I'm a frequent customer of the Tysons location and really miss the 9th St. (DC) location but we gave this one a try out of convenience. We almost drove by the building as it was so unassuming. Found street parking but once we walked in our entire mood changed as a result of the very dark, cave-like and almost gloomy decor. Stepping over a guests's chair to bypass the stairway was no fun and although we sat on the side of the restaurant with street views, it was still very dark and uncomfortable. The food was typical Ruth's Chris and delicious but we'll either visit the Tysons location OR wait for their new DC location coming at the end of this year.
Wonderful time eating delicious food with incredible people!
We took our 44th anniversary dinner party to Ruth’s Chris because we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed and we were so right AGAIN!
Thank you for the decorations and great food.
We had a great time but it wasn't cheap and some of the prices are ridiculous - $12/baked potato. The service was outstanding and our steaks were well prepared. Skip the crab cakes and potatoes au gratin they were average. We loved the brussel sprouts and heirloom tomato salad. We told them in advance it was my birthday and they rolled out the red carpet with menu inserts, table decorations and a free blueberry cheesecake for dessert. We will go again but need to save our pennies first. Be sure to check out the drinks menu, they have some really creative cocktails.
Not up to par with other high-end steakhouses these days
The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend and will be returning to this location soon!
We took my husband here for Father's Day, Ruth's is his favorite place for steak. As always, our experience did not disappoint. Every course was delicious. We started with a seafood tower, and had lamb chops, scallops, and steaks. The entrees were perfect, the sides were delicious, the cocktails and wine were outstanding. The service was excellent. It was a great experience, and why Ruth's is always our favorite place to celebrate a special occasion.
My family and I went to enjoy my birthday , the food definitely wasn’t better than the Baltimore location . The waiter was great . But it took us an hour to receive our food why? I have no clue . But they had the table decorated nicely for me and the menus said happy birthday with my name on them that was very nice .
My husband and I always enjoy ourselves at Ruth’s Chris no matter the location.
Food was great and hostess and wait staff were very accommodating to our large party.
The food and the service were both outstanding. I had the bone-in New York strip which was outstanding, as you would expect, for a $60 dollar piece of meat. Our sides, brussel sprouts and potatoes au gratin, were also fine. We had the white chocolate bread pudding with Grand Marnier sauce for dessert, which was to die for.
My wife and I were there for our 34th wedding anniversary, which they commemorated with specially printed menu inserts, decorations on our table, and a complimentary dessert of cheesecake and ice cream. Nice touches. At $192 for the two of us, including an appetizer, a glass of wine for my wife, taxes and a 20% tip, it was expensive, but we definitely got what we paid for.
Overall, not bad, but not as good as many Ruth’s Chris’s that we have visited. Ambiance was nice. Tables are pretty tight together.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday.
Meal was perfect!! Cowboy Ribeye, lobster macaroni and cheese, and broccoli sautéed in garlic. Bread was hot and fresh. Looking forward to going back sooner than later.
We had an absolutely amazing time. It was a perfect night! I couldn’t ask for better service the gentlemen that served the food were great employees it was unfortunate that it was a slow night and he was cut but overall very pleased and I can’t wait to come again and shout out to the host we (I’m a host too lol) don’t get enough credit !!!!
Food was great as well as the service. Extremely pleased with it.
Great food and great service.
Saw a mouse in the dining area by the bathroom. Service was ok. I was missing a napkin and a salad fork when they sat out party down at the table.
Awesome as always.
This was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Service was spectacular and food was even better. Sweet potato casserole is a must. Definitely would return.
Great location. Service is fantastic! Well done side dishes, and wonderful steak!
For a Ruth’s Chris it was sub par, but waiter was friendly and nice.
I will recognize immediately that this is a classic expensive steakhouse so this was not a surprise. The service would outstanding, with the server and assistant server always being nearby, friendly and helpful. The food was very good but, to be honest, I've had better steak. But let's start at the beginning.
Getting a reservation and later adjusting the time was easy. The location was convenience to my meeting and the setting was something out of Hollywood, old and dark the way a steakhouse used to be. My colleague and I ordered drinks but my colleagues preferred drink, while on the menu, was unavailable. My preferred drink (Blanton's Burbon) was not available. We were able to substitute. We ordered some appetizers and which turned out to be very nice (stuffed mushrooms and seared tuna). We both ordered New York Strip steaks (slightly different varieties). Mine was cooked correctly but was a little stringy. The flavor was perfect as were the vegetables. All in all, it was a very nice meal but, as we were leaving, we agreed that we would have preferred another restaurant we've been to before (Morton's came to mind).
This was one of the worst dining experiences at a Ruth's. The other patrons dressed in baggy tshirts and track suits or tight short clothing clearly disregarding "dress code" sign that was posted. We were seated between 2 large obnoxious parties that thought everyone needed to hear their conversations. My 3.5 yr old was better behaved!!! The food was not well prepared, meat over done and not consistent with experiences in other locations and cities. At the end of the meal, the system shut down and it took another 30 minutes to close out our check. I couldnt believe what a horrible experience this was for what we were paying for our meal. It will be a long while before I set foot in any Ruth's again!!!
This Mother’s Day at a fine dining institution should’ve been stress free, yet it resulted in me walking down the stairs twice to find a hostess. It took 15 for someone to come take our order (only happened after I went to the front), and the poor waiter who did so wasn’t assigned to our section. 15 minutes after that we still didn’t have our drinks. The table next to us had just as many problems. It was embarrassing for a restaurant like Ruth’s Chris to have such glaring problems on Mother’s Day. My mom drove 11 hours from Michigan to be with me, and her dinner was marred by the horrible service. We are very understanding people who’ve worked in the service industry, but I will NEVER come to this location again. Thank you to our busser, Daryle, for being the bright spot of this subpar holiday dinner. No one should’ve paid $250 for what we went through tonight.
Fabulous service! Food was served at perfect temperature and timing! Server provided great recommendations!
Celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary
This is an all most annual event for us and we have NEVER been disappointed!
Outstanding visit and our server Grace was amazing.
This was a perfect end to our holiday in DC. I know a thing or two about ribeye and this was as juicy as advertised. For those who think shrimp cocktail is a mundane, unimaginative starter (as I normally do), such is not the case here. The New Orleans cocktail sauce and jumbo shrimps were exceptional. Bravo all round.
A good night out with everything you would expect from a Ruth's Chris restaurant.
William was a very attentive server, and wonderfully patient as well. He helpfully suggested two lobster tails for my wife when the only remaining whole lobster was way too large. Steaks (filets) were perfectly prepared, and the sweet potato casserole is worth the visit all on its own.
The atmosphere was lovely. The waiter was friendly and professional. He had a dish made to my specifications. The manager walked around was attentive. When she found out it was my birthday she had a dessert brought to me with a candle. I will definitely be back.
Brilliant service and food. The staff were attentive, knowledgable and friendly.
Excellent food as always. Great wine selection. Roberto our waiter was fabulous as always.
Great food and service, a bit pricy but well spent. Will definitely come back when on DC.
Good except food came out slow and baked potato wasn't done and then it was my sons birthday and they were supposed to comp the desert but they didn't.
still, great place to eat and i love the steaks.
Our meal was wonderful. Our waiter was pleasant. It just wasn't the Ruth Chris experience we've experienced at other locations. It was nice, but not wonderful.
Great steak! I would highly recommend eating here for anyone who loves great food and wine.
Food was good service was trash. Waitress barely came to the table. Had to ask other waiters/waitress for help
