Our meal was wonderful. Our waiter was pleasant. It just wasn't the Ruth Chris experience we've experienced at other locations. It was nice, but not wonderful.
Great steak! I would highly recommend eating here for anyone who loves great food and wine.
Food was good service was trash. Waitress barely came to the table. Had to ask other waiters/waitress for help
With all the new restaurants in town its easy to forget your old favorites. I took my family there last Friday and was quickly reminded how good they do steaks. Can’t wait to return for happy hour!!!!!!!
Delicious food. Excellent service. Beautiful . Whatever city that we visit we always make sure that we dine at Ruth Chris.
Our server was very good, but our steaks came out overdone and had to be sent back, so that affected the overall pace of our meal and our side was cold by the time they arrived. They did give us another side and a glass of wine while we were waiting, and we had fun people watching out the window and talking while we waited. It was quite expensive, however. Nice for a special occasion.
We were seated about 20 min after my scheduled reservation. To the credit of the staff, they did have an unexpected rush from a convention. Took a while to take our order but the food arrived to order. Don’t go on a busy night.
The food was awesome!!! I will definitely go back again....
Roberto and team were excellent!
The reputation of this venerable establishment is well earned and well deserved. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent and everything about this restaurant exceeds expectations. Do not go plan on going here if you are in a hurry because you'll want to savor every moment of this delectable experience.
The evening at Ruth Chris was quite enjoyable and the valet parking at $7.00 is a best buy for NW DC. We enjoyed two finely crafted Grey Goose martinis. She had the lettuce wedge and I had a house salad, both were fresh, crispy and adequately dressed. Our appetizer before the salads ravioli willed with oso buca and cheese in a light red sauce. We shared the porterhouse steak and a baked potato with the potato garnished on the side. Two glasses of a nice red wine from Oregon during out meal. Service was great by our waitress Grace!! Topped off the meal with black coffee and Hennessey X0.
This was our first time at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and it was phenomenal. From the food to the drinks to the customer service, everything was excellent! Our server’s name was Kyle and he provided great service from the very beginning. He was able to give us good recommendations and we were not disappointed. Thank you Ruth’s Chris!
AMAZING food-- best anywhere-- the sizzling steak is unique, as arethe humongous delicious side dishes (especially sweet potato casserole). ALWAYS our pick for BD's, annivs, and regular visits! And LOVELY atmosphere, romantic booths, nooks, corners, with old stone surroundings.
We had a decent family dinner, although overpriced for what it was. Also, I indicated on reservation it was for a special occasion but no one ever asked us about that. The staff were very friendly, but not well-trained for fine dining (ie didn’t serve nor clear dishes from proper side of guest). The facility is in DIRE need of a facelift. VERY dated interior and the ladies restroom upstairs was downright deplorable. Cracked tiles, door off the hinges. I expect a Nordstrom-like restroom for a restaurant of this caliber, that charges these prices.
I have been A long time RCSH patron, and this was the first one I went to over 30 years ago. Upon arrival we were greeted by multiple employees more interesting in each other and their phones than us. We were seated near a bussing station in a fairly empty restaurant on a Saturday night. Our server, although friendly, was not k knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered with great anticipation of a fabulous meal. We waited a long time for our drinks and our salads came before the bottle of wine. When the food came the steaks were good and the sides were merely ok. There was a great deal of ruckus from the wait station and a great deal of confusion with food being delivered to wrong tables . Our water glasses were refilled with Sprite, multiple times. The desserts were ok but not up to RCSH standards. Sadly, my fond memories of this historic location has been irreparably tarnished and it is unlikely that I would return. I will continue to be a loyal RCSH patron, but not at this location.
It was very loud from the different parties that were in the restaurant. The manager was the least bit accommodating to any requests that were made. Downstairs one party got into it with each other over the bill, so much so that we could hear them upstairs shouting. The police ended up being called. We decided to leave as 3-4 cops went past us to handle the situation. Bathroom upstairs was old and run down, I would never return to this location.
Watch out the gratities is already included in the bill. U dont want to double tip
Nice place, great and careful service, delicious food especially filet Steak is so tender and T-bone and ribeye are juciy
This may have been an off night. The service was slow, the bread and the lobster mac & cheese were cold and my steak had to be sent back because it was over cooked.
Don't wear your ball cap hat in.... I was asked to remove mine yet seen others wear ball caps and winter stocking hats.
Well run Ruth Chris’s with great staff
I had 4 dinners in DC this trip; two were here and two at another famous steakhouse. I consistently find Ruth's Chris filets to be jucier and more flavorful than anywhere else. On this particular visit, it was the end of 11 days of straight travel, and it was just one colleague and myself; we decided to go lighter on the meal. To start, I selected a glass of chardonnay. Since I asked a few questions before deciding, our server chose to bring me a taste first. I really appreciated that initiative (and liked the wine). I had the 2 crab cakes appetizer and the Caesar salad, while my colleague had the seared ahi appetizer with the chopped salad, along with the lobster bisque. Everything was up to the standards we expect at this restaurant.
The restaurant was beautiful, and the staff was amazing. I made a reservation 30 minutes before arrival for my birthday and when I was greeted I was wished an enthusiastic Happy Birthday from the first few staff members I encountered. My table was also decorated and a card was waiting for me......WITH ONLY 30 MINUTES NOTICE! Extremely impressed by that. My waitress Liv was wonderful and attentive and made my first ever visit to one of your restaurants exceed all expectations I could have had. I will absolutely return!
Great place for a birthday and for excellent meat.
I ordered the lamb chops I asked for medium well. They were dry and tough to chew. I never been before. I was not impressed. Overrated
I hadn’t been to Ruth’s Chris in a very long time and now I remember why!! I wanted to get out with a friend our babies for dinner and let’s just say the food and service was subpar. I will never return! Our reservation was for 8:45 we didn’t leave until well after 11:00pm you do the math. Our service was horrible. Oh and the worst part we were automatically charge 22% gratuity for a party of 4 consisting of a 7month old baby that didn’t eat and a two year old toddler. We were never informed of the so call policy of parties of 4 or more would be added gratuity until we questioned the waiter. We even had to ask for the manager after the waiter refused to answer our question and walked away. The manager came over to say yes the gratuity does look high let me take off $3 but that is the policy for parties for 4 or more. Never again will I dine with Ruth’s Chris.
Food was superb! We enjoyed the special touches for my husband’s birthday. Made him feel special . Thank you
Staff were great and the food was wonderfully prepared and served! Great place to dine!
My first but not last time here.
I loved it
I recommend the blackberry sidecar
I have been to this location on a number of occasions over the years and I have to say it has lost some of it's luster. The food was just OK. The lobster mac & cheese was dry and pretty tasteless. Steaks were good - lobster just ok. The service was kind of slow - not terrible but not terrific. The noise level was a bit much - it seemed they were jamming everyone out in the glass enclosed area which made a conversation a bit difficult. I will certainly go to Ruth Chris again - just maybe not at this location.
Kimberly and Roberto always make our experience excellent!!!!!
It's always a pleasure to eat at this Ruth's Chris location. The staff is great and Kimberly, one of the managers, is always extremely pleasant. My friend's steak was overcooked and our waiter Ken promptly made sure she received a new steak properly cooked. It was a great experience as always which is why I keep going back.
Service was slow and we sat by the kitchen and had to deal with the smell of marijuana each time the kitchen door opened. That was disappointing and ruined our meal
The sweet potato casserole was mainly all toppings & no potatoes. My steak was cooked almost burnt on the outside & more reddish on the inside for my liking. The waiter did a very job & the hostess were extremely friendly
The steak had gristle in it and not cooked correctly.
Celebrating my 25th Wedding Anniversary with my lovely wife. Everything was perfect from the staff to the food. They created an enjoyable evening with decorations and custom menus. The food is always excellent and memorable. The manager made sure our evening went smoothly. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for an great night out.
Excellent food and service. No better place for steaks.
Top notch steak. There are few other reasons to eat there. Ambiance is outdated, but service is good and place is typically accessible, even without reservations.
We got there 15 minutes early and we're accommodated without waiting. The food was amazing, as always, but the customer dress code was far from enforced. People were wearing hats, hoodies, white tees, etc.
Other than the host asking me to remove my hat, it went well.
