We were escorted to our table and welcomed by our waitress. Bread, water & butter along with plates were left at our table, our waitress said she would be right back to take our drink order. She left and I noticed we had no silverware, no way to cut the bread. After about five minutes our waitress came out, went over to the table next to us and I called out her name as she left that table and told we needed silverware which she immediately took care of. Next we ordered wine and two appetizers which were just mediocre. The stuffed mushrooms were not that good...stuffing was mushy. Calamari was just ok. I ordered the ribeye and my companion ordered the filet. Both ordered cook medium done, pink throughout. They were not cooked medium but more like well done but were ok being USDA prime cuts. Our sides were not so good, baked potato was over cooked, asparagus was tough. For the amount we paid for this night out it was very disappointing.
Very disappointed, not at all the experience one would expect from Ruth's Chris. We felt rushed beginning with the first interaction with the wait staff. We told them we were celebrating a special occasion and were in no hurry. They continued to rush us through the meal. The food quality was good but the side dishes were forgotten and did not arrive with the entrees. We waited five or so minutes for them. The atmosphere was the worst part of the evening. Halfway through our meal a table of 4 children (ages 10-12) were seated next to us. The adults accompanying these children were seated at the other side of the restaurant. Our evening was ruined by children who were just being children. They were loud, playing video games, getting up and running around the table, imagine 10 year olds with no adult supervision. Totally inappropriate for an establishment with the reputation of Ruth's Chris. If we had desired to experience the atmosphere at a Longhorn's or Applebee's we would have gone there...and saved $250.00. Will not be back!

My Dinner reservations was for 6:30 pm, me and my wife was early. Our table was not ready until 6:55. We ordered our food and it did not come out until 7:42. This is the first time we have experienced any problems and really enjoy this restaurant.

The food and choices are always very good. It is pricey, but we want to treat our friends and/or family once in awhile. The best steaks around are at Ruth Chris. My husband really, really likes the spinach casserole. We had Lyonnaise Potatoes one time that I would like to see on the menu again. Really, all the food items are delicious. The servers are always attentive and take good care of us. We save special occasions for Ruth Chris.

I ordered a filet medium well. It came out very well done. I asked for it to be redone. 40 minutes later I still had no steak. I told them to keep it and take it off my bill. There is no reason cooking a steak should take 40 minutes, especially one that was cooked wrong to begin with!

For my first visit here, it was TERRIBLE. My reservation was 7:30 and didn't wasn't seated until after 8pm. Brooke, the hostess as I was waiting I asked for an update about 10 minutes til 8 she snapped instantly because she was "busy". When I requested a manager she came back with an attitude saying "she's busy and she'll be with whenever she's doing whatever she is doing". Not to mention it was my birthday and it was me and my husband's first night out in 10years. Megan the manager was very nice and understanding. Food took its time as well. I probably won't be returning.

My wife and I went to Columbia, SC for our anniversary and we decided to go to Ruth Chris for dinner. We could only get reservations for 5:00PM or 8:45PM; neither was the time we wanted (7 or 7:30PM) but we decided later than sooner so we picked 8:45PM. We arrived early (8:15PM) and we were told by the hostess we would be seated closer to our reservation time, which was ok with us. After complaining, we were finally seated at about 9:15PM. The hostess was very nonchalant about the issue and kept saying a few more minutes. Finally, the manger came over and seated us at an undressed table with no silverware or table dressing, just a dingy white tablecloth placed over the last guests mess. I had a $61 T-Bone steak and my wife had the $60 Cowboy Ribeye. The steak had no sear on it and almost seemed as if it was boiled instead of placed in a 500+ degree oven. The Lobster Macaroni and Cheese was tasteless and dry as the Mohave Desert. The BBQ shrimp was ok (given to us free because of the wait) but it was basically and under-seasoned shrimp scampi. The only thing that was remotely good was the glass of wine my wife had and the glass of water I had; oh, and the mushrooms were perfect, but we came for the steak, not mushrooms. The dress for Ruth Chris is "Business Casual" so why did I see people coming in with basketball jerseys and sagging pants (I'm a black man by the way), shorts, and every other outfit you can think of besides business casual attire. Going to Ruth Chris use to be an experience for my wife and I, now it has become a joke to us. This place is nothing more than a high price Sizzler or Denny's. I could have taken my wife to Panera Breads and had a better experience. We took our leftover steak home (more than half of it was boxed up), reheated it in the oven, and smothered it in A1 sauce and it tasted better than it did coming fresh out their oven. Save your time, money, and taste buds and go somewhere else. We will not be back. What a joke!

Our visit to the Columbia, SC location was an outstanding one. My husband and I had a previous experience in June of 2020, while celebrating his birthday, that was not up to par. Ms. Megan Cromwell, the manager, and the staff that we interacted with on 8/21/2020 made our experience at Ruth's Chris on this particular evening one to remember for all the right reasons. It was our 23rd wedding anniversary. The table we were sat at was very small, and we felt cramped. There was little or no room to move plates and drinks around. Everything was on top of each other on table. There was no candle light on table and one was not provided. I was thinking they would bring out a red candle, but one never came. All of these factors contributed to an experience that was less than what we expected for the price paid. The food was very good.

Atrocious! Steaks had to be sent back, mushrooms came out cold 2 times, over 3 hours and tried to leave. Waited over an hour for our wine to arrive. Truly unbelievable. They did comp us our meal and we paid for the late wine. If they accepted Responsibility that would be one thing but the GM just kept deflecting responsibility and never owned anything. Very disappointing as it was our last meal with our daughter before taking her to college.

In the midst of all that is going on with COVID-19 and rules and regulations Ruth’s Chris did an amazing job. The staff was very friendly in the midst of customers that were unkind because of waits and some minor delays. Our waiters were very attentive and kind and the food was very good. Much needed night out after dropping our daughter off to college.
