Ruth's Chris Steak House - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
It was very mediocre. The service was a mess. They forgot to ask for our drink order. They forgot to bring a salad for my father. So many people involved and none really responsible. We had to ask to have water filled. For such a great brand this was a very poor experience. The steaks were good as always, but my mother was disappointed that there was no salmon on the menu. She got stuffed chicken and it was just ok. There are a dozen steakhouses in Cincinnati that have service and food that is 10 times better. That will be our last trip to Ruth's Chris in cinci
As always, Ruth's Chris delivers a great steak experience. In my travels I have tried many of the big name steak restaurants, but keep coming back to Ruth's Chris for consistently excellent beef prepared perfectly with a proper atmosphere. Cincinnati location delivered as expected!
My food was very good. The crab stack (lump bluefin crab, mango, cucumber and avocado) is awesome --you definitely need to try it. I also recommend the roasted brussel sprouts and Lyonnaise potatoes. My steak was perfectly done and my wife's sea bass was delicious. Service was efficient without being obtrusive. When I go out for an upscale dining experience, however I'd rather not be sitting next to "bro dude" with the ripped jeans, untucked wrinkled shirt and his "chicka" drinking beer out of a bottle. There were also other tables with patrons whose casual dress is probably more suitable for a "2 for $20" Tuesday special than Saturday night at Ruth's Chris.
Service was the worst I have ever had in a fine dining restaurant. Our waiter was pouring water and picking up dishes which slowed him from getting us bread, our drinks, etc. I was so disappointed, I found manager because I felt like there must have been some system issues and didn't want to stiff our waiter. While she did apologize, never really did get a decent explanation. My Caesar salad was probably one of the best I've had, but my steak and the bread was okay. I've had way better.
I had made a reservation for 2, thinking that my husband and I would take advantage of Cincinnati's "restaurant week" to enjoy a special dinner together despite no particular occasion to celebrate. When our daughter unexpectedly decided to come into town that weekend, however, I called to see if we could add a 3rd to our reservation, fully expecting the answer to be "no." To my pleasant surprise, the staff at Ruth's Chris could not have been more accommodating, and we were able to include our daughter in a lovely no-special-reason evening, with good service and even better food. Kudos for a seamless fine-dining experience.
My friends steaks came out well done when ordered medium and had to wait to recook it. Then it came out medium rare so she didn't even eat but three bites of it. We got there at 8:45 and didn't leave till 10:53. She wasn't sending the steak back a second time
After salad came the server had to come tell us there was no fire roasted corn and we both ordered it
Overall very disappointed in how it was handled from the kitchen
For the price we paid for dinner, unhappy. We come here somewhat often and this was disappointing again.
Server Tasha was very good
For the second time in three visits, my steak with a bone was overcooked. Those who simply ordered filets were quite satisfied, but I was the one paying the bill. Neither did I like the price of the sides. The bright side was that our server, Terrell (sp), was fantastic.
My wife and I decided to splurge for our anniversary. Such a memorable evening, so glad we did! Our server Lance was very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife had the seabass and she said it was the best she'd ever had. My bone in cowboy ribeye was amazing as usual. This place has yet to disappoint. Curious to try out the bar, it was packed from the time we arrived to the time we left. Best steak in the city hands down!
Service was great. Explained menu great and very attentive.
Steak was cooked correctly med/rare. Only problem is heavy "char" on the outside. Usually a Med/rare person does not care for over cooked outside. Steak was still good, tender and good taste overall. Crab cakes may have been the best I've ever had along with the ranch dressing.
On a side note, the wall next to us very dirty. Really could use a wipe down.
This chain does a very good job no matter which location you choose...this location (my first trip here) was very good. For what this is, a classic American steakhouse experience, it's a bit pricey but the food was excellent and the service was better.
We both chose from the Classics menu (a prix fix option with a starter, main course, side and dessert) and upgraded one of our sides and both our desserts.
My ribeye had a little more fat on it that I expected so my advice...get the filet if you want to avoid that but both steaks melted in our mouths and were cooked perfectly.
What's surprising is the size of this restaurant...it doesn't look it from the outside but the place has an ample and active bar area and some upstairs dining rooms as well. Great spot for a special occasion or celebration.
We visited during Resatuarant Week and had such a wonderful time. My husband and I really enjoyed the great drinks (delish) and the wonderful wine list. I would definitely recommend! The filets were amazing and super tender and the garlic mashed potatoes were the perfect comfort food side dish.
