The service was exceptional. The wait was minimal. I enjoyed the ambiance and the environment. I thought the service was outstanding and very friendly.

We had an early reservation. We were dressed better casual. They chose to set us off the bar by the window during a basketball game. Very busy, a lot of foot traffic. We going to the bathroom, we saw a quiet romantic dinning room. I guess we didn't look the $189 bill part. Probably won't go back. We have eaten at no less than 4 Ruth's Criss Steak Restaurant's in as many states. The food is always excellent, we just didn't expect the seating.

Worst service ever at the Chicago location on Dearborn! Wasted $180!!! Will never return! I even emailed the corporate office 2 days ago about the worst dining experience ever and they have NOT responded to me! Will never dine at Ruth’s Chris ever again! They ruined my birthday and made us 15 minutes late to a $300 theater play downtown! So that’s a total of $480 down the drain on top of $80 in babysitting I had to pay to go out for my birthday! In my opinion Ruth’s Chris owes me money!

Been there 100 times, was disappointed, will not go back

Booked a reservation through Open Table for a date night while visiting Chicago with my SO, who had never been. Our dinner was served at a great cadence, not rushed and cooked to perfection. Our server (wish I could recall her name) was amazing and recommended our new favorite wine. Nice atmosphere and quiet for how busy it was. Could not have been a better experience!

I have been to a number of steakhouses in Chicago, as well as Ruth’s Chris locations in other cities, and am least impressed with Ruth’s Chris Chicago. My husband and I went on a Saturday night and the place was over-crowded. The set-up itself is very crowded, most tables are right next to one another so request a booth if possible. The hostesses did not clearly call out party names as they seated, which would have been helpful to hear over the noise of the bar and crowd waiting to be seated. We were late being seated for our reservation and we were sat just next to a kitchen opening and family with small crying children. In our first few minutes at the table, staff were already constantly in & out of the nearby station and squeezing past/bumping into my chair - not a great start. The server was very nice and one of the only redeeming parts of the night. The food was just ordinary. The osso buco ravioli appetizer was the best part of the meal. Sea bass was way too sweet with citrus coconut butter and a pineapple/sweet potato hash, NY strip was fine, au gratin potaoes and creamed spinach both lacked flavor. There are better steak houses. We will not be back here.

Ruth's Chris continues to be one of the best steak places in Chicago. I like my steak medium-well and sometimes get it back a little too dry. At Ruth's Chris my medium-well steak is always juicy and tender. In addition to the great steaks and sides, the service and reception area were very customer-focused.

It was our 33rd wedding anniversary and we like to celebrate at Ruth Chris. Our dining experience was awesome, from drinks at the bar with Marten, to our dinner with our waiter Sean, everything was awesome!

The hospitality and service is always a joy

I’ve been to Ruth Chris a thousand times and never had I experience this terrible service. It was my husband birthday and this is his favorite restaurant. We set down for 15 minutes without no one offering us nothing. The restaurant wasn’t that busy so I didn’t understand why no water or bread, the usual. Than when I mentioned it to the waiter that we will like some bread and water, now all of a sudden our bread, appetizers, salad all came out at once. Five minutes later here comes our food. We both ordered the stuff chicken, my husband stuff chicken was burnt, very visible. The waiter said it will take 20 minutes for another chicken. I shared my chicken with my husband because by the time we receive the new chicken, the rest of the food will be cold. I understand some things may occur when the restaurant is very busy due to the fact that this is an upscale restaurant, however, it wasn’t busy around the time we set down.

Really get restaurant I love the servers Sean & Tyler they made sure I didn't need or want for anything really get service. I will be back

Never a disappointing visit. Consistently Great!!!

The plates were too small for the steak. Ordered mushrooms/onions as a side, and when steak arrived I could not even see it on the plate--it should have been the centerpiece, not hidden! This made it very difficult to cut, as did the size of the plate. The sizzling butter was a nice touch, but strangely the butter did not have a nice mouth feel--made me wonder if it was whole butter or clarified butter--it just did not have that creamy sweetness of whole butter. The sides were skimpy for the price. Could be shared with 2 people, but not really sized for more. The apps and salads were good, but when I go to a steakhouse it is about the steak. For the price, I think you can find a better prepared and presented steak in Chicago at a comparable or even more reasonable price. I have been here in the past, and remember it being better. Seems like some of the luster has worn off.

Excellent Porterhouse for 2 serves 3 women with leftovers. It is more festive for a group to share!

I was visiting Ruth Chris for the first time for my birthday. I really enjoyed the customer service and the food was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Birthday. Very delicious.

We were lucky enough to be seated in a smaller upstairs room which was perfect for my husband's birthday celebration with friends. The food was great....as always. Even though it was a busy Saturday night we felt well attended.

Great my steak was a little tough

Steak was over cooked. They did bring a new steak but it was very small, not 8 oz as stated. Everything was Ok. I eaten their before but won’t be going back. Overpriced for what you get in quality.

Sitting under the stairs... Not the finest seat in the house. Very noisy with people shuffling up and down. So dark in that corner...we were close to using cell phones for light...

My husband and I were pleased with the service and timely manner in which the time we were seated until our food came out. All within an Hour.

They forgot I reserved it for birthday and they did not cook my steak right the lobster tail was truly over price for the very little meat that came, luckily we had an outstanding waitress who mad our experience worth. Stuffed chicken breast was so so good and creamed spinach was excellent

food is always great. Service was very good this time. Great location. unfortunately the ambience does not match up to the other locations. was at one time on of my favorite Chicago restaurants.
Rowdy patrons who think they are rap stars at the table next to us, vulgar language isn't what I went out to dinner to hear. This is the SECOND time this has happened to us at this location.

.I often patronize Ruth Chris , however this was the worst experience ever..for starters my waiter was very unpleasant and never made eye contact with myself nor my companion. My appetizer (barbeque shrimp on a bed of potatoes ) was cold...I sent it back and I expected him to bringfresh food. My stuffed chicken was overcook and dry...I was very dissatisfied with the entire experience! I also feel my drink was pored poorly. I expect more from this pristine restaurant..i frequently visit Ruth Chris , and have since the age of 19(currently 35)...
In my closing statement, #RuthChrisMustDoBetter....
