Ruth's Chris Steak House - Chattanooga Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was not terribly busy however service was definitely not up to RC standards. Food was very slow to come out and while steaks came out sizzling, fries were barely warm and soggy. Waitress took them back and returned fresh ones after we had completed out steaks. Very disappointing.
This was our first time eating at the restaurant and it was just an okay experience for us. The food was in small portions and was not as flavorful as other restaurants we have dined in the past. I had crab cakes and my wife had scallops. They were okay and not what I expected for a restaurant of Ruth Chris reputation. Me and my wife do not eat beef or pork so maybe other items on their menu are better. We would not come back but we appreciated the hospitality we received since it was our anniversary.
Service was decent to fair. Sometimes there was a little wait to get drinks refilled and getting the check was slow. My grandson ordered a filet and it was running behind coming out with the other steaks so the chef butterflied it to cook it faster. It seemed a little overdone but the chef offered to cook him another steak if he was not happy with the one he got. Overall the food is good.
Awesome does not come close to describing our experience at Ruth's Chris Steak House in
Chattanooga TN!!!! We picked it for our anniversary dinner on our way to Gatlinburg. The hospitality was as great as you can find anywhere in the great south!! The little things they did will always be remembered by my wife and I. Our waiter, Andrew showed the most humble and grateful service anyone could expect. He is as good as they come!! To make things better, the food was wonderful, wonderful! If you want a rating from 1 to 10, 10 being best we are rating it a 12!!! Thanks so very much to the greeters, waiters, and chefs at Ruth's Chris Chattanooga TN!!! My wife and I have vowed that for each anniversary here out we will have dinner a Ruth's Chris across the country!! Chattanooga Ruth's Chris made that happen!!! Thanks so very much!!!!!
We decided on a last minute lunch and had not been to Ruth's Chris in a while. The food was excellent, as always. Our server was in training and did a good job, while the experienced trainer prepared Bananas Foster table side for us to cap the afternoon. We will be back.
Consistently excellent food quality; knowledgeable waiters who know how to provide exceptional service without being "showy" or constantly hovering. This (the part about the waiters) is not common in a Southern restaurant and certainly not one in Chattanooga. I'm a 71-year old native Southerner so I'm not looking to throw stones . . . just relating reality as I've experienced it.
First time to eat at Ruth Chris. Had always heard great things about the restaurant, so my expectations were pretty high and it lived up to the hype. We had the petite fillet and lobster tails. The steak was the best I’ve ever had and the sweet potato soufflé was awesome. The service and atmosphere were impeccable. They made us feel special for our anniversary. Will definitely be returning soon and will recommend them to everyone.
Excellent steaks and sides. Perfect if you are traveling through Chattanooga because it is inside the Embassy Suites hotel. We had a late dinner so we were able to enjoy a couple of free cocktails at the hotels reception for guests. Then just take the elevator up to our room after dinner. The hotel also provides a complete breakfast with your stay, so it is a decent value for a nice room. Excellent way to start our vacation trip from Chicago to Florida.
My Daughter and I have been going to Ruth's for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for several years. We also go there for Birthdays and sometimes just as a place to go for a great steak. Sometimes we go to Harrah's Cherokee and dine at the Ruth's Chris there. Already made reservations for Christmas Eve. Never had anything less than a great experience.
We chose Ruth's Chris for our Thanksgiving dinner celebration as all of our family decided to go out of town for their Thanksgiving. We decided to stay at home. The dinner was very good as it always is when we go out for a special occasion. I enjoyed the steak and the sides very much. My wife as well enjoyed the steak and the sharing of the side dishes. We were surprised however that the dress code was not maintained as one family dined near us and the patriarch of the family decided to dine with his baseball cap on during the entire meal. It seemed odd that the hostess and wait-persons would allow this to happen. Perhaps they were more often visitors to the restaurant than we are. Mostly the dress code is casual to more party dress, I felt that the gentleman was not respectful to the quality of the restaurant.
We have always been extremely pleased with our dinners at Ruth's Chris in the past, so our recent experience was surprising. We both selected the Thanksgiving Dinner special. Our salad, sides and dessert were excellent and lived up to our expectations. However, the turkey and gravy were bland - almost no flavor. This was disappointing, and led us both to believe the dinner was not worth the price ($40 a person).
After waiting over 10 minutes for watered down cocktails, we then received our salads(Caesar).
I realize people usually do not add anchovies any longer, however it would have been nice if there was some semblance in the dressing.
Since this was a Thanksgiving lunch we ordered the turkey. What we got is five slices of dried up meat. It was probably sliced and kept under heat lamps for who knows how long.
I have eaten in several Ruth's Chris restaurants. Always had a good meal. This one in Chattanooga was the worst not only for this franchise but for all the Thanksgiving dinners both home cooked and restaurants in my 77 years.
Great thanksgiving offer, with regular menu available as well. Got there 10 mins early but seated right away. Anne a delight and looked after us so well worth th her team we thirteen being overbearing. Just delicious from m start to finish. 2.5 hours from home but we’all be back.
Over the past few years, this has become our place for special occasions. They consistently do a wonderful job. The staff has always been pleasant and make sure to make us feel welcome. They do a little extra to make you feel welcome if they know it is a special occasion from the hostess to the waiter or waitress. Here we are four years later still celebrating our anniversary at Ruth's Chris. Thank you!
Always, Always (meant to type the word "ALWAYS" twice) enjoy the courteous, professional service and wonderful environment at Ruth Chris'. The food is consistently excellent. Due to the price, this is definitely a "once per year" event for us but, we look forward to and always enjoy our experience. Our Waiter also took excellent care of us.
My wife and I had an enjoyable quiet date night here. Food was good and service was quite good. The Prix Fixe menu was a pleasant surprise, we both chose it because it provided us the opportunity to have good choices of smaller sized entres and sides and we still had a bit to bring home. The wine list had a good variety and it was easy to find good wines at reasonable restaurant prices.
Have been a few times here. Service and food have always been great. What is disappointing is the lack of a dress code. This is a nice restaurant and the staff is dressed very nice as well. There were several people in there with shorts and hats on. Others we just plain sloppy clothes. I'm not saying people should be in suits and cocktail dresses but collared shirts for guys should be a must. There was a girl in there with her softball uniform and hat on...geez. Our meal was awesome, service great, just needs a dress code!
Excellent service,Great staff and great food! My lamb chops were cooked well done when I ordered medium well and manager came by and offered a recook but it was already close to closing so wasn't a huge deal because they were delicious! Manger ended up taking them off my bill! Very good experience I definitely will be back!
