It seems that they had difficulties cooking the ribeye medium rare. May be due to very hot plate. The second one was much better cooked.
My guest cuts were perfect. Good for them
Excellent wine list
We had a team luncheon/outing on Friday, Dec 10 at the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Centennial Park. Our reservations were for 1:00 p.m. and we had 7 people in our party. Once seated, we placed our orders and waited over an hour to receive the main course. That was too long with only 3 other tables in the dining area with us at the time. Additionally, two of the 7 plates had to be returned due to not being prepared correctly; steaks were requested as medium rare and both were well-done. Finally, although the waiter was pleasant, he did not visit our table often enough. Overall, not nearly as good as I had hoped for my first visit to a Ruth's Chris and spending over $400.
The kitchen saved our office party. I've never seen such apathetic service for food this pricey. Two of our five entrees were completely wrong and by the time those two were corrected the sides were all cold. Our waiter would disappear for ten to fifteen minutes at a time and I had to ask for old drinks to be cleared from the table. No apologies were offered.
The food, once correctly delivered, was delicious.
Management was nowhere to be found and I'm sorry to say we won't use this location again. Too many other great places in Atlanta who want to do the job correctly.
This was my first visit and I truly enjoyed it. The server was very patient, and knowledgeable.
I dined at Ruth's Chris' Steakhouse on December 5, 2015 following the SEC Championship game. The servers were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. My steak was perfectly cooked to my preference. I will definitely eat here again on my next visit to the area.
In common with our other experiences at this Group, the ambiance is perfect and the food exquisite .
Just a great place to eat......though not if you are wanting to be economical !!!
Although when traveling I try to avoid chain restaurants, sometimes you just want a great steak. I have been to a number of Ruth's Chris across the country, and NEVER had a bad meal. Maybe it's just been a little too long, but this particular meal was exceptionally delicious. I had reservations for a party of 6, and they were ready for us when we arrived. Surprisingly, they were not very crowded for a Saturday night, but it was just after Thanksgiving. If I had a complaint it would be that the service, which started off tremendously, really tapered off after we got our food. We had to look around a few times for drink refills and other items. It might be understandable on a super busy night, but not on this particular occasion. Still, I'm going back to this place EVERY time I visit Atlanta!
James was our server and greeted us quickly. We have eaten at several Ruth Chris and the food and service is always the best. We did have a couple of issue during our visit and they are as follows:
- Salads arrived approximated 20 minutes after they were order
- Salad forks had been removed prior to the salads arriving so when the steaks arrived, we had to ask for additional forks.
-Salads did not have walnuts so James provided pecans as a substitute.
-Water glasses were kept filled, however, James was slow to come back after the meal so we could order deserts.
Hope this helps with improving your restaurant.
We chose this location for our Thanksgiving meal and were happy with the experience. The service was outstanding! Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and attentive. Our filets were flavorful, but a little fatty on the edges. The potatoes were fantastic. The creamed spinach was a little too creamy and sweet. Overall, though, these were minor imperfections and we would absolutely return.
Their steaks maybe good but they haven't a clue how to prepare a Turkey dinner for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey came in perfectly round pieces, which meant the meat had been processed like a deli turkey. It was not very good, especially if you are used to having an oven roasted turkey at home. Also you only had 3 choices of vegetables and you could only pick one, really, come on.The dressing and potatoes were good but the portions were tiny; there were five at our table and we could have combined all the dressing and it maybe would have been enough for one person. We were so disappointed because we had promised our 85 year old mother that this was a highly recommended place and at $40 a plate it should have been better. At least the service was good, but the food was so bad it didn't matter.
I bragged all the way to the resturant to my family about how tender the steaks are to only get our steaks that were ordered med/well were well done and a little tuff around the edges because they butterflied the cut of the steak . That cut is not a good cut for steaks being ordered med/well. We were very disappointed in our steaks.
Overall , for a downtown steak restaurant. It was good. That being said, not optimal.
It is very quiet at lunch there. Too quiet, almost. A good thing , if you want a private conversation away from the frenetic pace of commerce.
But even though the calamari was lovely, and the hot bread tasty, our main courses, the two steak salads on the menu, were both graced with chewy, overcooked meat.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Ruth's Chris Steak House. The staff was great and the food was even better.
The best part of our experience was: James and Robert who took care of us and our drinks. I was disappointed in the quality of the food. This was our monthly date night and we had planned dinner here before the Hawks basketball game. I had been looking forward to eating here for quite awhile. I initially asked for a drink that I had viewed using the online menu. James then explained to me that this location was a franchise location and the menus between corporate and franchise's are different. The drink menu that was provided on the Ipad had a very limited selection of drinks. The bartender did make a Baybreeze for me that was excellent and he had the Peach Tea drink....his only complaint was he tasted more of the Peach and not so much of the Vodka.
We ordered the Filet Mignon....8oz and 12 oz....the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, and Mushrooms. We requested well done for our Filet's and there were parts of the steak that were cooked "too well" and was tough to chew. The mashed potatoes were stiff, but palatable. The asparagus didn't do anything for us and we only had 2 spears from the entire plate. The mushrooms were not as good as I've had at the Corporate locations.
The service is what made the night enjoyable. We loved the atmosphere and the location of our table.
Not quite sure if I would choose another franchise location. Next visit will be to a corporate location.
Think the waitstaff was in training. Kind of awkward.
If you're looking for a place to have a nice dinner and wine then I highly recommend this place. Waiter staff is above reproach and willing to make sure you have a great time while there.
Disappointed, always attend Ruth Chris for special events. I could tell the difference in the food, lobster tails. The lobster wasn't presented in the warming container with the melted butter. It was as if there has been a change in shift or the chef. The ordering of the drinks with the pad was no longer available. The broccoli was presented as a huge hunk of green, just sitting on a plate, no flavor, no presentation. I was so disappointed and I had a special guest from out of town with me. I boasted for months on Ruth Chris. Maybe I set the bar too high based on my last visit at the restaraunt.
Ran out of steak at a steak house??
My boy friend took me to Ruth Chris for my birthday, as he knows I love good food. I was not disappointed. My prix fixe filet and lobster were excellent. The wine recommended by the waiter was a great compliment to our meal, and the dessert was heavenly. We received outstanding service, and the cost was more reasonable than I expected. Even though there was a convention group seated near our table, the noise level was fine. Great experience!
Was not impressed with my experience at Ruth's. My USDA Prime NY Strip was stringy and fatty (and not in a good, marbled way).
Service was good and should not be lumped in with the lack of performance from the kitchen.
Ruth's Chris, as always was a totally satisfying, wonderfully satisfying meal. After, 5 days at the Omni Hotel and surrounded by stadium sports bars with mostly deep fried foods we were pleasantly surprised to see the Ruth's Chris sign through the trees of Centennial Park. We have been to many Ruth's Chris restaurants and have always found them to be high on food standards and quality and never hesitate to recommend for a great night out. Our only criticism of this night would be that as we finished our main course our server took on a table of about 10 and left us sitting for about 20 minutes. By the time she returned to ask for desert we were ready to leave. Very unfortunate.
This was an average experience when compared to similar type restaurants. Mainly because of the service. Had a burger and it was just ok. I usually stick with the steak but the last time it was overcooked so thought I would play it safe - not the safe bet I thought it would be. As far as the service, the place was pretty empty with a large party and a couple small parties and we still had below average service. Not impressed but of course the service started to improve as the check was delivered. Overall wasn't that impressed with this experience but being a long time fan of the brand I have hope the next experience will be better.
This place is terrible...don't eat here. Paying for a nice dining experience. Receiving an airport dining experience. Low class. Manager reached out via Yelp. I emailed to see what he had to say for his restaurant and never heard back. Makes me think he did it just to make himself look good on Yelp but doesn't really care about how customers feel. Hanging on the fact that Ruth's Chris has a good name. Haven't been to any other and WON'T thanks to this place.
We had business guests from overseas in town and needed to select a steakhouse downtown. In regards to the food, we made the right decision, but service and ambiance were disappointing. Even though we had a reservation, we got seated at a table right in front of the kitchen door. Service was slow, we had to ask twice for refill on bread and other requests. The kitchen was slow, we waited almost 30 minutes for our dessert. Don't get me wrong, we had some of the best steaks I have ever had, so it was worth the hassle. Nevertheless, I would probably pick another steakhouse next time.
Hostess very rude and put out that we booked our table on line, waitress pleasant, but timing of service very poor....it should not take 3 hours for 4 people to eat due to the timing of the food, not because we were socializing. We were staying in the hotel and thought this would be a good choice, next time will walk next door to Legal Seafood, ate there the night before and it was great....
The T bone steak was big. The smell when the waiter was putting it in to go box was awful. Later that night when I took it out fridge the smell was really awful. Waste of money.
Worst hollandaise ever. Pick up your Betty Crocker cookbook! Devine recipe. Should be lemon zesty. I was so disappointed with my oscared filet. What a bummer.
The location of the resturant was good. In the midst of downtown. Pulled up to find out that the vet was full and had to find parking more than 3 blocks away. An expense that was unexpected. When seated, we were placed in the walk path of the kitchen and the walkway. All we were able to see was the doors to the kitchen. The server started of well, but when he go involved with assisting with a large table hr completely forgot about our table of 4. Water left empty. Food left on the table and not boxed, wine glasses left on table. Very disppinted with the entire experience. It was my birthday and it will be an experience i hope to forget. Manager had to come in to resolve the issue. Will not be going back to thia location.
Excellent service and always an excellent meal! Love the wine list- able to always find a quality wine at a reasonable price
I am used to the Ruth Chris in Wisconsin were I never have had a bad experience. I recommended it to a group of coworkers on a trip to Atlanta and was very disappointed. Very poor service and only good food. Normally everything is exceptional as it should for the price.
The atmosphere was very inviting. The food was prepared to perfection. Very flavorful and the perfect temperature. I would highly recommend Ruth's Chris to all of my friends and associates. This is a must experience.
Birthday dinner that was noted in reservation was adequately celebrated by both greeter and waiter. Would definitely return for casual dinner as well as business meetings or celebrations.
Perfect for special occasions for those with an appreciation for great food !!!
Ruth's Chris is an amazing experience for anyone who loves fine dining. I took my husband for a birthday outing and they made the night absolutely special. He had one of the best steaks money could buy. The chef prepared two awesome meals and the waiter deliver them with poise. The ambiance in the restaurant was prefect. It's very romantic and quiet. The candle light is relaxing and magazine worthy. We will definitely visit this particular spot again!
We had a terrific dinner last night for my birthday! Great food, good service & a romantic atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Once our server found put it was my birthday, she brought me a dessert with a candle in it. Just perfect!
The food and service are second to none. Parking can be challenging if there is a lot going on but everything was perfect.
I decided to do something different and surprise my hubby by taking him out on a date. I searched many different restaurants but I figured Ruth Chris would be a great option since we both had never been and he loves a good steak. When we got to the Embassy Suites, where the restaurant is located, we did use the valet service. Which we were told would cost us $12 for 3 hrs, even though the restaurant's site said it was complementary. Nonetheless, we didn't have much of a choice since I am 38 weeks pregnant and can't walk far. When we got into the restaurant, we were greeted and asked for our valet ticket so it could be validated. Then we were seated. The place was pretty empty @7pm on a Sunday, which was surprising to me but we didn't mind. Our server, TJ, was really nice and polite. He was also very knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the BBQ Shrimp for an appetizer, which was good but it was missing something... Can't quite put my finger on it. The sauce it came in was great for dipping the French bread in though! I ordered the Mixed Grill, which is perfect if you're indecisive, and my hubby ordered the NY strip w/blackened seasoning. We had mashed potatoes and broccoli au gratin for the sides. Both were awesome! The stuffed chicken was AMAZING! The entrées did come out on a 500° sizzling plate so my only suggestion is to order your steak slightly under what you would prefer because it will continue cooking on that plate! My hubby ordered medium and that's what it was when it came out, but by the time he got halfway through it, it was medium well. When we went to get our car, the attendant let us know that the restaurant doesn't completely validate your parking, they just take $5 off. So heads up, it's NOT complimentary valet! Overall, it was a great experience. I would go again, ask for TJ. 😊
The food and service were great as usual. We were on a diet at the time and our requests for the way we needed our food prepared were honored. We enjoy going to this restaurant when we are going to Phillips, The Fox and the Georgia Dome.
Drove all the way from Newnan to have a celebration lunch with my daughters. You can't really go wrong with Ruth's Chris. The Steak, as always, was excellent. Service was excellent.
