Ruth's Chris Steak House - Centennial Park

Wait staff was friendly and was great at first but, then all but absent after drinks and ordering. Our steaks were not anything to write home about. One was overcooked and since we are not complainers and this is a place known for their steaks, we just ate them the way they were. The steaks had nothing over a piece of meat I would expect at Chili’s over a flat top at a quarter the cost. We were on vacation in Atlanta and this was our most expensive meal but the least appetizing.
We went here for my son’s birthday 18th birthday. We’d never been before but it was supposed to be a special treat. I would never choose to go there again. The service was pretty terrible , especially for a restaurant at that price level. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 10 minutes for a table even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We sat for quite a while before we were even offered water and there continued to be confusion over who was supposed to be our sever. Other severs seemed to be having an argument in another language right nearby. We continued to see customers waiting for tables while the restaurant was half empty. I am not a steak eater so knew the food wasn’t something I’d especially like but I was disappointed that everything comes completely a la carte so that even a piece of salmon comes with no rice or anything to eat it with. While my husband and sons liked their steaks, they said it was very overpriced for what you get. Next time they want steak we’ll be going back to Longhorn Steakhouse which they say is equivalent in quality.
Waiter was really slow .... got our food and had to get with the person cleaning the table for additional drinks and dessert menu
Good food bad service and no parking. If we had a better service I would have gave it a four star
Amazing location. Service was terrible. They forgot the appetizers. Medium well steak for my wife was medium, medium rare. My medium rare was rare almost raw. Uneven cooking. Wife's steak went back for longer and she got another one 15 or so minutes later after we have been there over an hour (remember no appetizers). She asked for some sauce and waitress forgot for another 20 minutes. Place wasn't even half full and everybody looked miserable. Manager knocked the meal off and we only paid for the drinks. Didn't accept any food to go because we weren't sure what would be done to it. Wouldn't go back. Unless you do the 60 dollar per person 3 course, be prepared for 11 dollar onion rings as sides are not included in 60+ dollar steaks. 60 being the minimum it looked like.
I've enjoyed many dining experiences at Ruth Chris while celebrating several occasions. The menu is such that everyone in your party will enjoy. I found out this past trip that they can fry lobster instead of the traditional broiling method. The fried lobster was delicious and paired well with the porterhouse for 2. The location is very nice and within walking distance to many local attractions.
Upon arrival, we sat at the bar as the host advised they were running 15 minutes behind. The bartender took forever to greet us and then acted like we were annoying him when we asked for a drink. Once at our table, it took our server more than 15 minutes to greet us. During no part of our meal did she appear to be in a hurry. Our needs were never anticipated; drinks were empty, sides served without a serving spoon, servers continued to try and serve our food to a different table (server put the wrong table number?), and food was auctioned off at the table. The food was mediocre at best; the fingerling potatoes were under cooked. We had to wait for everything. Waiting between courses. Waiting for drinks. Asking for food to be boxed (twice). Asking for the check. Waiting for the check. The employees at this location have customer service and care at the level of a waffle house team. Part of my expectations at Ruth's Chris is the experience and great service. I haven't had a decent experience the past couple of times I have been to this location. We will be going to Morton's from now on.
Great dinner date for Valentine’s Day! Nice ambience and the waiter was knowledgeable about the specials and cut meat!
Overall it was good, the food was EXCELLENT. Probably the best New York strip I've ever had. The service was a little slow but it was Valentines Day, so it could've been because of that. We enjoyed ourselves though. Very nice environment.
We enjoyed our visit as always!
ALWAYS a Pleasure Wasting at the Centinneanal Location.... AWESOME
Spelman Family Weekend
Great culinary experience. The steaks were superb. The service was extraordinary. We had a great time.
My husband and I were on a date. Pre Valentines and his birthday
We love Ruth Chris but some locations like this one in a touristy area sometimes have issues with the food and service.
Food was as good as always but service was not up to their standards, and this particular location is always bad. Slow to be seated despite our reservation, 15 minutes before we saw our server, pace all night was very slow - 2 hours and 45 minutes from beginning to end. Server was pleasant and attentive but the place has no rhythm - lots of folks just wandering around.
There in Atlanta for a concert, steak very dry . This is my second time not having the food to Ruth’s standards
As always spectacular service and excellent food. My wife and I both had the prix fixe menu and both were excellent and a great value. Only ding I could give was my second Manhattan was shaken, not stirred. Dining room noice level was low, although all tables were filled, and tables aren’t on top of each other
Rodney was extremely informative and kind. The staff made our experience fantastic!
Our waiter was professional and friendly. My daughter and I shared a dinner. The waiter split each course in the kitchen and made them look as beautiful as they tasted.
I had a great time! I will definitely be coming back.
Great meal as usual Ruth Chris never disappoints. Ordered onion rings and they were huge diffinstly a shareable side and they were delicious.
We were there for a birthday dinner and ordered a bottle of white wine. It came to the table at room temperature or warmer, and when I asked about it, the waitress said she brought had a wine bucket filled with ice to keep it in. No telling how long we would need to wait to drink the wine before it was sufficiently chilled. Next time she walked by, I asked if perhaps they had a chilled bottle we could have. She eventually came back and said the manager found a chilled bottle. Strange, as I thought serving chilled white wine was the norm. The food was average and the French fries were very soggy and greasy. The price was way too high for the quality of food we were served.
Great service, outstanding food.
On vacation in Atlanta
I had expected more from this famous restaurant, I had the cowboy steak and I appreciate a bit of fat in the steak for flavor but almost 50% of the steak being fat is too much.
Overpriced, absolutely terrible grumpy service , no room on plates for sides , rushed. Worst needled steak I’ve ever had . This place is overrated.
Need to have a selection of sandwiches at lunch
We checked in 10 minutes before our reservation time and with plenty of tables available we were seated in 40 minutes later. the service was slow andin the steak was overcooked
Excellent service from Sebastian. We both ordered off the set menu for $59.95. We had the filet and lobster tail. It was delicious. Very nice atmosphere overlooking Centennial Park.
From the moment we stepped into the lounge our experiments at this Ruth Chris location was very disappointing. We never did get waited on in the lounge despite being told several times that someone would be over to take our order. Finally went to the bar and got our own drinks. The dinner experience was equally frustrating. The wait staff was informed that we had tickets for the Atlanta magic theater at 6:30. Yet, there were long periods of time when we just sat unable to place orders. We were seated at 5:05 PM and had to leave some of our dinner unfinished and no dessert in order to be on time.
Appetizers were served cold and needed to be returned. The first order we did place was a child’s order, and it was the last to arrive.
After the performance we were able to get our dessert orders wrapped up to go. The manager apologized and added an extra dessert but it did not excuse the poor service which turned into a nightmare for everyone. I am not sure the wait/kitchen staff share the manager’s vision of good service and fine dining.
Once again the manager was very kind and solicitous. Such a sad experience at a typically first class restaurant.
Fabulous food ... Sebastian is an awesome waiter!!!
We were seated in the rear next to the busy kitchen, noise level was loud. Was not happy with service, it was slow.
Great service and food, as always!
Excellent birthday dinner!
Very poor service and average food. Meals came before the salad, shrimp was over cooked, steaks were dry, etc. The salad and spinach were excellent though! And all of that could have been forgiven if the server would have at least made contact with us or been somewhat attentive. The manager was very responsive and kind. I just expected more from a high end steak house. There are much better places to dine in Atlanta.
It was my twins 19th birthday. Birthday was specified in the reservation and nothing was said by the waiter. Other than knowing my name that was the extinct of his service. Had a reservation and still had to wait 40 mins even though there were empty tables all over. It seems there are management issues because I’ve gone to RC in several other cities East to west coast and this was by far the worst service I have ever had for a $350 meal. The salads were late. I watched them sit in the window for at least 10 mins. I notice on the internet they had 3 stars, I didn’t believe that. But I now know the truth in that and I wish I had gone elsewhere to celebrate by daughters birthday.
