Ruth's Chris Steak House - Cary Ratings and Reviews
Ruth's Chris is our favorite celebration and special occasion spot. They always make the evening special with table decorations and a wonderful complementary birthday dessert.
We love the chopped salad. The bone in filet mignon was delicious. The rib-eye was melt in your mouth tender. Who can go wrong with 1/2 lb. of Alaskan king Crab legs to go along with a wonderful steak. A baked potato to share and Cremini Mushrooms on the side made dinner complete.
Of course, a special occasion warrants dessert. The complementary apple tort with cinnamon ice cream was fantastic. The cheese cake is also a decadent treat that everyone should try at least on their birthday.
I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service this RC provided. I requested a private area for our business meeting which was provided. Food was very good and relatively quick. I admit I've become wary of RC's in other markets. I was called twice the following day to make certain I was happy with the experience. I will be going back.
We went here for a special occasion, for my wife, they had laid Rose petals on the table and reserved a corner booth. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and we received exceptional service.
The food was made to perfection and excellent cuts of Ribeye steak and fresh salmon, cocktails were top shelf and appetizers were great too!
We did not have room for desert, the waitress insisted we should take some home and packed some for free! Who does that?
Overall great place for special occasion dinner, one of the best steakhouses in town.
A good meal tainted by poor service. An overly intrusive waiter who did not know when to stop. We were there on business, and we had much to discuss. This guy could not stop interrupting, putting everyone at the table off. We couldn't wait to finish dinner. The food was typical excellent Ruth Chris, which is to say outstanding (with the sold exception of tough, chewy Brussels sprouts).
Very good food. Restaurant was almost empty. We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary and you set a party of 8 adjacent to us when the entire restaurant was empty. They were loud and ruined the ambience of the our dinner. We'll think hard before returning to celebrate a special occasion.
It was a lovely experience with great service from tip to buzzer. It was our first time going here and we were very pleased by the experience. It was our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary dessert. I might suggest a small glass of champagne for each of us instead of dessert at the end. But a nice gesture. The hostess followed up the next day with a phone calling asking if we'd enjoyed our experience - nice touch!
Although our waitress was very very friendly, I assume maybe she was new as any question we asked she had to go ask someone else. Proper training by management should be done for new employees. When you are paying that amount for a steak and you want some description of the different types of steak flavor, texture, part of the cow etc you would like someone knowledgeable. Otherwise it was a very nice experience!
For a birthday dinner, we chose poorly. Food was average, prices inflated, service was adequate and parking was a pain - you are making a mistake if you are passing on the free valet parking. Overall, it felt like a business lunch even though it was all family at the table. Recommended if you are having a corporate dinner AND someone else is paying.
Just dined here for Father's Day and had not been previously. Read very good reviews and took a chance. My husband and my daughter who is 9 yrs old, were both equally pleased with everything. Food was excellent and the service was some of the best we have ever had. We never had to ask for anything and they went above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience for the whole family. Will definitely go back again and highly recommend.
My first Ruth Chris dinner was 40 years ago at the original in New Orleans. I was not overly impressed then, and I was not on this most recent dinner. They do their "stichk" with the super hot plates and butter on the steaks but the quality cannot compare with Smith and Wollensky, Sparks, Del Frisco in NY or Geno and Gorgetti in Chicago where the outside of the steaks are charred and the inside as you like it from rare to well done. The sirloin was grainy , the filet was okay, the small rib-eye was thin not thick and every thing is ala carte so it is far from a value. Some friends love the place, but as ex New Yorkers familiar with real good steak houses it is not our choice at all and I cannot recommend it. Oh, and the service is fast, too fast, you know sooner put your fork down and the next course is upon you. Far from a mellow dining experience
My daughter and I had stuffed chicken breast, and unfortunately it did not satisfy our taste!! We should have known, not to go to a steak house and order chicken. That was not the taste that we were expecting and wanted. If I had known, I would have had another entree. We both know not to order the stuffed chicken breast again! My son enjoyed his steak, so at least one of us enjoyed the food.
We came for restaurant week, 3 had the petite filet and 1 had the salmon. All entrees were cooked to perfection (Rare, Med Rare). We started with the gumbo which was wonderful, then our had side of potatoes au gratin , grilled asparagus, and cremini mushrooms. All the sides hand great flavor and perfectly cooked. The wait staff was a bit confusing, I believe we had 4 folks come to the table to take our water selections, and finally got it right with the 4th person. Which was fine, there may have been to many wait staff assigned to the table. We had a wonderful dinner, at no time did we feel rushed. Nice experience
