Ruth's Chris Steak House - Buckhead Ratings and Reviews
Final touches to a great night. It was my wife's birthday 2 weeks back and we went to the Bahamas so I had to wait till we got back to celebrate even more...we went on a helicopter ride and then on to yours truly (Ruth Chris)...we've been fans but the reservation made things even better letting her know exactly how much of the night was planned out just for her...wish we could've made reservations for Top Golf...that was a bust though.
I find it amazing that dress code is clearly posted, yet when we arrived there were several tables with men in tee shirts and baseball caps at the table. Obviously, this is a weak suggestion and not enforced. When one pays $300 for a dinner for two. Part of the ambiance is to be dressed for the occasion, or at least business casual. We were appalled at the lack of manners and decorum by some of the diners.
VERY disappointed with this Ruth's Chris. I have been to several other Ruth's Chris and was quite happy with the experience. This location is the exception. Except for my husband's steak which he thought was decent, our food was mediocre to poor. My salmon was dry, overcooked and poorly seasoned; brussels sprouts had little taste. Even the baked potato was tasteless. Yet the prices here are quite high! The ambiance was poor. The restaurant is located inside an Embassy Suites. We can hear people outside the restaurant who are in the hotel talking to each other as they were only half walls in the restaurant. The restaurant needs updating. I expect elegant surroundings at Ruth's Chris. Not the case here. Our server was very nice, however, not particularly attentive. We will NOT be back. In fact, I'm hesitant now to go to any Ruth's Chris after this experience. At these prices I expect a supreme dining experience.
Carpet is thread bare and worn. Smelled old, moldy and musty.
Service was disjointed and not fluid. There was some confusion as to what was ordered and was was presented.
I remember when Ruth Chris was "THE" place for steaks and ambiance. They have missed the mark. So sad!
Our experience was very professional and top notch, beginning with Jessica, our greeter. She was very kind, professional and mindful of our wait, although, she had a large group of guest to seat. She provided us with a nice corner table and introduce us to Deon, our waiter whom was superb. Deon explained the entire menu and answered our many questions. He assisted me with my special diet selections and was very patient and attentive to our table in making our lunch experience rewarding. In addition, we shared with Deon, that we were celebrating my daughter's graduation and a special award for my wife. Well, to our surprise, Deon provided my daughter and wife with a very special dessert treat for their accomplisnments.
Thank you Jessica, Deon and the Buckhead Atlanta Ruth Chris Steak house team, for making our lunch experience rewarding, delicious and excellent! And yes, we will be returning.
We have been to Ruth's Chris locations all around the country, so we had certain expectations for our first trip to this location. When we entered, we were immediately overwhelmed by how in need of a refresh this location is. The carpeting has to be at least 20 years old and the entire place smelled like your grandmother's old couch. The Maitre d' was great and showed us to a nice table. Unfortunately, after 15 minutes, the server had still not appeared. The Maitre d' noticed this as he was seating another party. He brought her over and apologized and gave us free champagne and a free appetizer as a way of making it right. We then ordered two glasses of white wine and our server suggested a bottle. We explained that we would be switching to red with our entres, so we would stick with glasses. We had salads, steaks and some sides, and everything was great. Classic Ruth's Chris fare. When our steaks arrived, our server never reappeared, even though we had told her that we would want to order some red wine with our meat. We were finally able to flag her down halfway through our steaks. After finishing our meals, we were offered dessert, which we declined. Once again, our server disappeared and we finally had to have someone else on the staff find her to get our check. While this poor service would not even be acceptable at Waffle House, it is insulting when you're paying over $200 for two dinners.
We enjoy this restaurant several times a year. Every morsel was delicious and Frank, our favorite server, was friendly and helpful as always. The atmosphere in the main room is casual with an uptown classy feel. I've gotten dressed up here and gone in nice jeans and feel comfortable either way. This trip was for our 44th Anniversary and we were glad we chose Ruth's Chris for our celebratory night out. They made it feel very special indeed!
Dinner was good, but not the best steak I have ever had. The glass of wine they brought out to me had stains all over the sides, there was a bug inside of it, and the white wine was not chilled which makes me think this was a sitting glass/ left over glass from someone else that they served me. I can only imagine how unclean the actual food could have been.
