Ruth's Chris Steak House - Buckhead Ratings and Reviews
We went there Thanksgiving Day for dinner and to celebrate a birthday.
We had cocktails, appetizers, salads, main entree, New York Strip and Filet (tender and cooked to perfection), sides. and dessert. The bread pudding was wonderful.
Despite being busy, the staff made gave us personal attention, we never had to ask for anything.
We will definitely go back again on a special occasion.
I have eaten at Ruth's Chris restaurants across the country and this one in the Embassy Suites in Atlanta was by far the worst in several areas. First, while the steaks were good, the asparagus was too soft and the mashed potatoes were tepid. The tomatoes in the Caprese salad while large were tasteless. My wife commented that the tomatoes I get from Publix when I prepare the dish at home are more tasty. Second, the service was not what I am accustomed to for a $200 check. We had to ask for side plates and the Hollandaise sauce was presented without a serving spoon. The experience soured me on Ruth's Chris, and clearly resulted in my never going back to the Buckhead location.
Food and service was great. Karol was ou server and did a fantastic job in taking care of us.
Only issue is the dress code is not enforced, saw diners wearing jeans, t-shirts, ball caps & sneakers.
Also, do people really need to bring their baby and small children to this type of restaurant? Noting like fine dinning with a squalling baby.
We were celebrating my husbands 65th birthday and he wanted a great steak, so we immediately think about Ruth's Chris. From the time we dropped our car off with valet parking until we picked our car up we had a wonderful time. The hostess seated us promptly and within seconds Milan greeted us and took our drink order. I ordered a martini which I am very particular about, I was delighted when my drink arrived and it was exactly the way I wanted it. The food was out of this world, the service was impeccable, the ambiance was perfect, and the manager was in the lobby and we had the niceiest conversation the Demairise Gordon. So did we have a good time, YES!!!
We had received a gift certificate & decided to use it for our anniversary celebration. The slamming of hotel doors & crashing hotel carts was distracting. The decor although kept up is stuck in the 80s along with the menu. I make a loaded baked potato better at home. My husband's ribeye was excessively fatty. We requested twice for it to be sliced for sharing, but it was delivered whole & the server cut off a "hunk" for me & placed it on a plate. Our waitress was pleasant, tentative just the right amount & provided us with two free desserts in honor of our celebration which was nice. She was the saving grace of the night, but we will not return. Note: Despite hefty prices, the restaurant only offsets a portion of the valet fee... Ridiculous!
My husband and I dined at this location and had a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. We would recommend this location to everyone. In fact, we have scheduled a pre-holiday dinner here for our friends and family. Thank you Ruth's Chris-Buckhead!
I joined my coworkers a little late to find out the service was slow, luckily for me things weren't that bad. Our server was running around all over, and passed us several times.
I had the bistro burger, but missed it had blue cheese, which I hate. The server took it away brought me a cheese burger with provolone with no fight. It was cooked the way I liked.. It was a fair experience, not as good as the night before.
I'd go back.
Absolutely loved it!!! I surprised my husband for his birthday and he loved it as well. The food was amazing with the exception of the salad. I got the ranch dressing which may have been just a little bit too salty. The staff was amazing. I have already recommended this establishment to quite a few co-workers. Thumbs up!!!!
Our server was outstanding and the oysters were to die for. But the steak I order was so so. The first thing I notice that there was no sizzle when he brought it out. I order it as a ribeye medium and it was at best medium rare. The meat was not season, there just not enough of the blue cheese on it nor salt and pepper. The garlic mash potatoes wasn’t really hot and again no real favor. But I will come back for the oysters, but at the bar, for a 180.00 for two I would expect better food
My wife and I have enjoyed Ruth's Chris Steak House on several special occasions but this was our first visit to the Buckhead location. We chose to dress more formally as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I was surprised to see most of the patrons were dressed very casually but it did not detract from our experience. The ambiance and service were very good, what I had come to expect from Ruth's Chris and what you would expect from any upscale restaurant. We each had the filet. They were cooked to perfection and practically melted in our mouths. For side dishes we chose potatoes augratin, potatoes layonnaise, broccoli and sauteed mushrooms. These were quite delicious and very filling. In honor of our anniversary we were offered a complimentary appetizer and dessert. We do not drink alcohol so I can't speculate on the wine list. The valet service for parking was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant validates the valet ticket so that it only costs a few dollars. As a whole, it was a very good experience. It is a bit pricey so I won't be dining there frequently but I will definitely go there again.
Our server Blake was excellent. He was attentive, pleasant and fast. He even made sure my drink was made exactly how I wanted it (even though it was not technically on the menu). He followed up with everyone at our table regarding their satisfaction with our dishes. It was my birthday dinner, and our entire group had a great experience at this restaurant, mostly due to Blake's service.
The food was also very good (we all ordered the "Mixed" plate with the steak, stuffed chicken and crab cake). It was delicious, and the steak was the most tender steak I've had. Every one had great things to say. Will definitely return.
We stayed at the Intercontinental so Ruth's Chris was just across the street at the Embassy Suites. The only thing that was a distraction from the food was being in the Atrium which could get a little noisy. Other than that, I had a wonderful 12 oz filet. Also, you won't need desert if you get the Sweet Potato Casserole.(definite must) All in all, will go back the next time in town.
I recemtly moved to Atlanta and I wanted to treat myself for my birthday. So I picked a familiar spot that I have frequented in the DC metro area. I arrived 25 minutes early and they were able to seat me. The very nice waiter (frank w.) was there promptly ready to take my drink order and my appetizer order. When he brought my drink back, he asked me would I like to try the tempura battered shrimp . I said sure and they promptly brought it out before my appetizer was ready. It was very good and it should be a feature item on the menu (if possible). Then I placed my entree order which was a ny strip medium, steamed broccoli &shoestring fries. The steak was excellent as always melting in your mouth as well as my great side dishes. I must say the service at this location is excellent. During dinner the manager made his rounds and said i noticed you were taking pics of your food. You must be enjoying it and I said very much so. As dinner was coming to a close, I asked for one more drink and frank previously asked so what brings you to town, business? I said no just celebrating my birthday by myself. He said that's great I got something special for you. So as my 3rd drink (Hemingways by the way are awesome. The bartender was outstanding with the drink being a little stronger each time :-) )was coming out, Frank brought me a dessert. It was a little chocolate mousse cake with a candle and it was so decadent. I must say this was truly an outstanding visit for my birthday. Frank received a nice tip from me and I hope to visit again.
For a steak house we were disappointed with our steaks. They were not seasoned well and had very little taste. The ambiance is lacking in the open spaces of the atrium. Even though the service was okay, it was not what we expected. Many other restaurants in Atlanta have superb service and serve much better food at better prices. We will not go back.
