Ruth's Chris Steak House - Buckhead Ratings and Reviews
Was taking out a top performing business unit and the leader asked to go here. I had not been to Ruth's Chris so it seemed like a good idea. It was cold that night in Atlanta and they put us at a table next to a sliding door that seemed to be the cut through to the bathroom so we kept having to close it to keep the cold draft out. Our server was unenthusiastic bordering on surly. Appetizer of stuffed mushrooms was very good, but the gumbo and calamari was quite plain. The steaks were served on these tiny plates just barely bigger than the steaks> Maybe that was to make the steaks look bigger which they needed since it was hard for me to believe my steak was the size they claimed it to be. However it also left no room on the plate for any of the vegetables. Squash was good, lobster mac and cheese OK. Brussel sprouts and creamed spinach you should pass on. The steaks were fine, though not special. Also when you pay you bill the server stands over your shoulder with the credit card machine that has default tip settings that are above what they should be since they include the tax in the calculation, and it times out if you don't put it in fast enough. To adjust the tip you have to go thorough another selection, again with the server standing over you. Oh, and is you want a good laugh take your leftovers to go. We were provided with very small boxes that the server shoved all the food in together. Our friend who had a T-bone cut her leftovers into pieces to make it fit and the bone did not fit anyway. Yeah, if someone else suggests this place again I just offer one of the many really good steak places in Atlanta instead.
Very very disappointed at our experience at Ruth Chris Buckhead. Ruth Chris has always been one of my Dads favorite places and he really wanted to take his family there for our celebration. Not only is the hotel lobby freezing and the ridiculous constant opening and closing of the main doors leaves the dining room uncomfortable but it took 15 minutes for us to get waters. Then even longer for our first round of drinks. 2nd round I didn’t think would ever show up. We didn’t bother with a 3rd round. They didn’t bring my brothers soup with all our salads and forget the shrimp on his entree. My steak was over cooked (I ordered medium rare)and both my brother and I’s shrimp were intensely over cooked. My sister did say her tuna steak was very good and my Dad liked his ribeye a lot. The dinner ended up being way too long for a small party and it wasn’t due to us lingering. Even with some of the food being good, we were all disappointed. Will not be going back to the Buckhead location.
It was too cold. The venue is actually in the center atrium of the Embassy Suites. New Year's Eve was extremely cold and the restaurant was just as cold. We've dined at Ruth Chris downtown and in other states and have always enjoyed. This Ruth Chris is in an unfortunate location that should never be visited during the cold months.
This was the first time I've ever been to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. The ambiance was very warm and inviting and my seat request was honored as I asked for a cozy space inside the restaurant. Mark and Victoria served us and were extremely attentive to our requests and tastes. The food was exquisite and the steak came sizzling just as the radio advertisements say. I would recommend this restaurant for special date nights, as well as any special occasion.
While the food was good, I was very disappointed at how the evening ended. I had called ahead to ask for them to bring out a dessert for my nephew's birthday and it never happened. Our waiter, who was fine, asked if we wanted dessert and showed us the dessert menu. It's as if I never made the request. I did not say anything because my nephew would have heard me complain. The fact that a nice restaurant can't communicate a simple request when they assured me they would take care of this when I called, is just bad service. I will not return to this place for a special occasion. The food was good, but my salad came out at the same time the main course was served. Again, bad service. Not up to par with the other nice steakhouses in Buckhead.
Have been to this location for years for Christmas dinner with family. This time food was not up to par nor was the service. Waiter spilled water and ice on the table and didn't clean it up. The steaks all came out luke warm and no sizzling hot plate. Had to track down our waiter to get assistance. And they have a new pay at the table handheld device. Was very tacky. Was not very happy with the experience as we were on prior years.
My wife asked that her steak be cooked medium; it was undercooked to almost rare. My father's steak was requested medium well and it too was too rare. I ordered the NY strip sandwich to be cooked medium and it was well done and very tough. My daughter's hamburger seemed to be the best choice, but if we are going to eat hamburgers I might as well go to Chili's and save $100. Next time we will go to Houston's; better value for us. Service, cleanliness and ambiance was good.
If you're not expecting much, you're right on target. This restaurant is in the lobby of an Embassy Suites. It has a door that opens right to the lobby, so we were subject to screaming kids running around the lobby for about 30 minutes. Not really the relaxing date night we had hoped to have. We were seated in an section of a restaurant with only one other table occupied. It was difficult to get our server's attention. My husband's cocktail has red lipstick all over the rim of the glass. It took over 5 minutes to get the waitress over to the table. He eventually got another drink, but the whole process took 15 minutes and we were still charged for the drink. The food was fine, but not worth the price given the atmosphere. We'll stick to a local place like Bones or Chops next time.
Ruth's Chris is a known name for great quality food and upscale service. Well this particular one had the food, but the service was terrible and the ambiance of the restaurant is definitely lacking. It's located in the lobby of an Embassy suites that desperately needs updating and brings the entire restaurant down. We waited 15 minutes at an empty bar at lunch time to receive a drink and lunch in the empty restaurant took nearly 2 hours.
Steaks were tough, tea glass was empty most of the meal, food was delivered both times to the wrong placings, and staff was rarely seen despite only having 4 tables with patrons at the time. Not what you would expect from a "top tier" steakhouse. Combine that with sharing the restroom facilities of the hotel, and I would suggest plenty of other options in ATL.
I generally like this restaurant, this time however was different, the waiter had a large group next to us and gave us no attention at all until we brought it up. Then when serving food , we were 2 couples and trying to serve for us, we had both ordered the porterhouse for two, they served the 2 women off of 1 steak and the 2 guys off the other, it was ordered each couple separately.
Not a major problem but you want what you ordered.
Then the waiter dropped part of the steak, said he would replace it, never did, when we brought it up, they gave us a desert
This a celebration of an engagement, we still had fun, no thanks to the restaurant
My first time at Ruth's Chris. Food was outstanding. Only problem we had was that we had a reservation for 10 and when we arrived on time, were told "We'll got your table ready." We stood around for 15 minutes waiting for our table. And the place was empty.
