Alex provided us with excellent service. Had Restaurant Week menu. Didn’t care for the lentil cauliflower soup but the filet was very good and large portion. Bread pudding was so tasty. Enjoyed a 4 table dining room
After visiting Ruth’s Chris for the first time it was quite enjoyable. Location is very unique that makes this particular Ruth’s feel like it’s engrained in the city. Our waiter was intriguing and had a fun personality that added to the experience. You can’t go wrong with the food but one of the game changers that separated itself from my latest steakhouse trek was the “Dipping Trio”. Would highly suggest adding it to your order. Overall, the staff was professional and fun, the food was excellent and perfectly portioned, and in the end it’s reputation held up to the rumors I’ve been told.
Food was amazing! Waiter Kyle was so polite and friendly!
We try to go to Ruth’s Chris once every restaurant week.
Their food is consistently great. Reservations are a must but not hard to get. I consider this restaurant among my favorites.
Ruth's Chris is consistently good. The steaks are prepared to order perfectly. Alex and Kate are awesome waiters and representatives for Ruth's Chris.
The only negative is the asparagus ... with this kind of meal, I'd expect thick stalks that are crispy and well-seasoned...what comes are disappointingly thin stalks that are a little bit mushy. On the other hand, the mushrooms are to die for!
the best restaurant week lunch!!!! great service, outstanding beef, reasonable wine bg
Service was almost impeccable. Had a little trouble with the barback or busser being a bit overzealous and intrusive and removing dishes still with food on them without asking. Other than that, food was great. I love Ruth's Chris! I'd definitely recommend it.
Just a great steak especially during Restaurant Week
it is Dine out Boston, we have tried many steakhouses but hands down Ruth's Chris is the best.
Lunch was spectacular my steak was great and my friend loved the crab cakes .
Our waiter Victor very attentive and professional special Thanks to Victor. We will be back.
Food was great as usual. The waitress was kind and very attentive. It is a worthy place to visit for steak.
Naisha and Sable were great hostesses. Our waiter Nick was excellent. We took advantage of Happy Hour in the bar before we ate in the downstairs dining room
The pomegranate martinis were superb. We loved the Restaurant week menu for $38. We enjoyed the cauliflower lentil soup, New York sirloin with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and our bread pudding desert. It was a lovely evening and is a real fine dining experience.
Dine in the lower level of the restaurant. The whole experience seems super casual rather than high-end. The service wasn't good - accidentally pour water on table not aiming accurately on glass, handing plates down on the table in hip hop style (throwing it on the table? - not sure what they were trying to do there), dessert took longer than 30 mins to come, error on the check with a bottle of wine charged that we didn't even order!
Leaving a two star as the steak was good.
Ruth's Chris Boston Steakhouse during Dine Out Boston Restaurant Week was a good choice for a Sunday Birthday lunch.
Worst service I have ever had - our waiter should work at McDonalds
Outstanding. From beginning to end.
I really enjoyed the fillet and fish. Tomato soup was delicious.
Really enjoyed my birthday dinner! They really took care of us. Great night!
The style of architecture is amazing. I have never thought there is a restaurant in old city hall. We ordered lamb chop, fillet and fried calamari. Overall food was good not excellent though. The middle of steak and lamb chop was pretty cold even not warm. Drink was also not bad. But the staff were extremely kind and nice!
Steaks weren’t up to the level I’ve had while dining there in the past. The sirloin didn’t seem to have the taste or texture of what a $50+ steak should have, not impressed. The others in our party had the petit filets which they said were very good. All the sides we ordered were very good and we enjoyed them (fire roasted corn, Brussel sprouts, and potato hash brown). Although our server was very nice I wouldn’t say the actual service lived up to past experiences here or other higher-end restaurants and especially when your final check is $450 for 5 people (3 of which don’t drink because they are under 21). Overall, I would give tonight a B- Will probably go back to the Capital Grill for next steakhouse night out.
We were celebrating a birthday and enjoyed a delicious, special occasion meal. One meal was sent back to be cooked a little longer and it came back done perfectly. Our waiter was helpful and appropriately attentive. Our one complaint was that the server began clearing the table before everyone was through eating. It was disconcerting and we were surprised, but that’s the reason I wouldn’t give an unequivocal five star rating. Despite that, we had a wonderful meal and a happy celebration.
Food was great always consistent! Women at the front desk where great!
Outstanding dinner and service from Victor! Can't wait to go back!
We have been to many Ruth Chris’ over the years, some of which were not so good, but the one in Boston’s old city hall deserves a great review! From the time we walked in, we felt appreciated. The staff greeted us accordingly, seated us at a nice table downstairs, and were attentive to our requests. The food was very tasty, the bottle of wine was excellent and the service was perfect. Upon leaving, we had a chance to meet the sommelier who knew which wine we ordered, so it led to a great discussion. We left the restaurant feeling appreciated!
Amazing food and ambiance. Really nice location and excellent service.
I've been in mamy location around the country, always good experience. This time, the service was a lot under my expectation.
Food was good , servers cleared without asking and there was still food on the table. Realized after I got home that I had been charged for 2 things we did not order.
Food, drink and atmosphere is outstanding. We ate in the bar...Vern and Anthony were fantastic and take good care of you!!
Service, food and atmosphere outstanding. The special hash brown potatoes were outstanding and very filling.
Excellent Ruth Chris. Food was great and cooked to liking, servers were great and attentive. My husband and I loved it. Wonderful deserts and delicious coffee. Extensive and affordable wine list.
Every component of our food was excellent from the appetizers to the main course and sides through dessert. Excellent wine pairings.
But you do pay for it all! Expensive but worth it if you feel like a steak.
The service was excellent and the food was out of this world!
It was probably the food I’ve ever had. Our Waiter was great for suggestions but he did forgot about a drink that’s the reason for 4 star service. Place look good but there weren’t enough separation between the other guests to create the intimate experience I wanted. All that said I will be back.
Excellent food! Alex, our waiter, was awesome. Front desk greeters however need training.
The food was delicious and the service was great. Valet parking was really convenient and they were quick with returning my vehicle. Would definitely recommend
Delayed Valentine’s Day Alex our server was very helpful on answering all of our question related to the menue and it contents. Had a great diner
The food was incredible and our server was a rock star. I wish I remembered her name but she really did excellent work and made our night wonderful!
Everything was great except we had a 8:15 reservation and didn’t get seated until 9:00 but love this place!!!
Love Ruth's Chris but the service was really lacking this time. Made a reservation for 8 pm. Arrived at 7:40 knowing we would get a drink first. Were told our table would be ready closer to our reservation time (which was fine). 8:00 came, no table. 8:10, no table. I finally asked the hostess at 8:18 if we would be sat soon. She said they were cleaning the table at that very moment and they would come get us in one minute. That process took seven minutes total (seems odd if they were actually in the process of cleaning the table - should only take a minute or two). I also note that the way they get you for your table is by walking around the bar asking everyone if they are the people they are looking for. MASSIVE waste of time. They should take people's phone numbers. Also valet had us wait in the rain upon leaving for at least ten minutes. I do note that our server and food were both excellent but everything else just bleh. We come here often and this has now happened twice. What is the point of making a reservation if they're a half hour late every time?
Food is phenomenal but the wait and service leaves much to be desired. Had a reservation but still waited for 45 minutes. The hostess approached four times to ask what name the reservation booked was under.
