Ruth's Chris Steak House - Boston Ratings and Reviews
I had visited Ruths during restaurant week with friends . I have to say the compared that to past visits I was disappointed . The Filet was not as good as in the past, and my friend ordered shrimp with her filet & she didn't get them, and In the past it was juicy & tender the knife just glided down with the small touch. This time was not like that so as you can imagine I was disappointed.
A group of us went during restaurant week. The history and look of the building are worth investing. The bar had a cool vibe and seems to absorb sound because even though it was full we could still have a conversation. Drinks were just as yummy as the steak which was served still sizzling and done to perfection. Classic choices and professional service are the hallmarks of Ruth's Chris. A special thanks to our waiter Martin who was perfect.
The filet mignon never disappoints. It was delicious. I don't know how they do it but the food is always consistently good and cooked as requested which you would expect from a high end steak house but which I have been disappointed with others for that reason. I go during restaurant week when you cannot beat the prices, otherwise it is a bit pricey for me.
Our group has been going there for 10 years now for all Restaurant weeks. Great tradition, Great food options. But for some reason this year when I went to pay the bill, it was much higher than I expected. It did not compute. I usually question if there is something amiss, but I was with colleagues and didn't want to be embarrassed. I think I was way over charged.
We dined (2 people) at Ruth's Chris during a weeknight of Boston dine out. Has there been a change in management? The service was incredibly rushed and unpolished, the food - specifically the chicken - was mediocre. It felt like we were in a badly run assembly line where the goal was to process as many people as possible.
Very disappointed. I feel because it was restaurant week, we were treated poorly. The waiter was rushing and did not ask us what we wanted to drink until he was ready to take our food order. We had to ask for bread. The presentation of the plate of food was a "0". Looked like it came off an assembly line. The filet was only half inch thick. I am a Capital Grill patron, first time to Ruth's Chris.
The food came very timely and the steak was cook to perfection.
I went because of restaurant week it was a bargain for the amount and quality
of the food. The atmosphere was great and sophisticated. We were able to talk
and hear each other. I will consider going back on a special occasion.
Food is exquisite, beef, seafood or any dish. Food always hot, always as advertised. I had a filet which is tender and worth a bit of a drive for. Sides were unique and salads and appetizers creative! Will be back quickly. A bit pricey, but well worth it! Yummm.
As always, I had another excellent meal at Ruth's Chris. The food was outstanding and the service couldn't have been better. The steaks were cooked perfectly, as were the sides. Dessert was SO GOOD! (their signature bread pudding with whiskey sauce). Dining on the patio on a beautiful summer day made it perfect.
Not up to standard - given the price we were disappointed with the level of service. We have been to Ruths Chris multiple times (including this location) and this visit was not up to par. In addition to overcooking one of the steaks (which to be fair they offered to rectify), there were little touches of service I would expect for this level of restaurant that were missing. I was disappointed...
Hi I waiters both Anthony were great! I ordered the Ruth chris classic ribeye, I received sirloin . They did take it off the bill . Thank you for that. I am a steak eater often so it was hard to convince me that I was eating ribeye as that is what the manager told me. I am a frequent visitor to high end steak eateries so I do know the difference!! Thank you
VERY DISAPPOINTED! We went for lunch during dine out Boston week. We expected the smaller portions which were served, but the quality of the steak was not even as good as a steak from the supermarket. The table next to us made similar comments about their food. We will not be going back.
First time I have dined here. It was restaurant week during lunch so I would say it is not totally fair to compare to a dinner where a different clientele might frequent the restaurant. The food is high quality and they take care to present it well. All courses we excellent. My only negative observation is that this restaurant is located in the old city hall. A nice historical building ,but the restaurant is set up like a maze. When the waiter started to take us to what looked like a basement area I was not thrilled, but then I realized this is how one gets to the first floor dining room which has large windows and looks out on school street. I will dine there again for dinner. By the way service was excellent and very professional.
We've been to many different Ruth's Chris. This location is in the gorgeous old City Hall. But we were taken downstairs to a back room that had as much ambiance as a corporate conference room. Except this one had a crying toddler. Ruined the experience. The food is great. But a Longhorn Steakhouse has better ambiance than this horrible back room. Should have asked to switch rooms but didn't want to be "that person."
