Ruth's Chris Steak House - Boston Ratings and Reviews
$25. Martini is a bit much. Service was slow and it was not just. Caesar salad was excellent and the best thing they had. The filet mug on was tough and over cooked. I ordered a glass of red wine to have with my dinner and it arrived after U was done eating.
This is the 2nd time we have been to this location and it was the same as last time. We have been to many Ruth Chris restaurants and this one just does not live up to the standards.
From beginning to end great. I think the best steak house in Boston. Have been to Ruth's Chris in San Anyonio but this was first time in Boston. Classy yet friendly and unpretentious wait staff. Kate was great. The steak was perfect. So delicious. My favorite strip steak over Capitol Grill or Grill 23. I would not bother to spend this kind of money at any other Boston Steak house
2nd time in a fewdays very bad experience with service we went early ate in bar seems like the bar crowd cleared out and all the service emplyees as well ordere expensive bottle wine which toke so long to arrive the huge tbne was already served sowe switched to glasses of wine
th1s place seems to have very uneven service the waiter we had first time only works one day a week there is no continuity
too bad and we made resa open table and checked in and they showed us as no show had huge bill
no one is tending shop there we probably wont go back
Our waiter Anthony was excellent! Very attentive and engaging. The steak my wife ordered was not initially cooked to her request but was taken care of immediately. One of the side dishes served was incorrect but was quickly resolved. Overall it was a good experience.
Ruth's Chris is our favourite restaurant and we have eaten at their Boston location many times. This time, the service was poor. We waited a long time for drinks and assumed that the waiter eventually remembered to put our order in to the bar. The steaks were over cooked and the waiter decided our desserts and brought them to the table. We told him what we wanted for dessert and he seemed surprised that we did not want wht he brought to the table. I think he fooled up the tables and did not admit to the mistake. The meal seemed rushed and the ambiance was different than what we usually experience.
Entrance for wheelchair patron is not bey apparent. You have to call the restaurant when you are outside so they can let you in from the back door. The staff was very helpful in this manner, thought I wish there was a clear sign indicating this alternative entrance.
This location is beautiful, I like that they have several smaller rooms for seating rather than a large open room. My only complaint about the seating would be that some tables are very close to each other and you can hear other people's conversations which is a little awkward. The food is always perfect...great place to entertain people or have a nice evening out. The server we had on the last visit was a bit overwhelmed and made some mistakes but we did not mind. The manager did walk around to ask people how the meal was and was giving some sort of promo cards out, he went to every table around us but not ours which I found a little weird.
I have been to all the Boston steakhouses-Capital Grill,Abe and Louis,Delfrisco's ,Smith and Wollenskys ,
This was our first visit despite driving by it many times.
We really enjoyed our evening and will be back often. We ate in the main dining room(Roof) but there are several other rooms each with a different atmosphere and experience.Freedom Trail,Vault,Kevin Whites room are some of the names. They have a great bar, too.
I had visited Ruths during restaurant week with friends . I have to say the compared that to past visits I was disappointed . The Filet was not as good as in the past, and my friend ordered shrimp with her filet & she didn't get them, and In the past it was juicy & tender the knife just glided down with the small touch. This time was not like that so as you can imagine I was disappointed.
A group of us went during restaurant week. The history and look of the building are worth investing. The bar had a cool vibe and seems to absorb sound because even though it was full we could still have a conversation. Drinks were just as yummy as the steak which was served still sizzling and done to perfection. Classic choices and professional service are the hallmarks of Ruth's Chris. A special thanks to our waiter Martin who was perfect.
The filet mignon never disappoints. It was delicious. I don't know how they do it but the food is always consistently good and cooked as requested which you would expect from a high end steak house but which I have been disappointed with others for that reason. I go during restaurant week when you cannot beat the prices, otherwise it is a bit pricey for me.
Our group has been going there for 10 years now for all Restaurant weeks. Great tradition, Great food options. But for some reason this year when I went to pay the bill, it was much higher than I expected. It did not compute. I usually question if there is something amiss, but I was with colleagues and didn't want to be embarrassed. I think I was way over charged.
We dined (2 people) at Ruth's Chris during a weeknight of Boston dine out. Has there been a change in management? The service was incredibly rushed and unpolished, the food - specifically the chicken - was mediocre. It felt like we were in a badly run assembly line where the goal was to process as many people as possible.
Very disappointed. I feel because it was restaurant week, we were treated poorly. The waiter was rushing and did not ask us what we wanted to drink until he was ready to take our food order. We had to ask for bread. The presentation of the plate of food was a "0". Looked like it came off an assembly line. The filet was only half inch thick. I am a Capital Grill patron, first time to Ruth's Chris.
The food came very timely and the steak was cook to perfection.
I went because of restaurant week it was a bargain for the amount and quality
of the food. The atmosphere was great and sophisticated. We were able to talk
and hear each other. I will consider going back on a special occasion.
Food is exquisite, beef, seafood or any dish. Food always hot, always as advertised. I had a filet which is tender and worth a bit of a drive for. Sides were unique and salads and appetizers creative! Will be back quickly. A bit pricey, but well worth it! Yummm.
