The meal was excellent and our experience with Amy was a delight. She was knowledgeable, engaging and attentive. A great evening!
Outstanding. Amy was an excellent server. Fun. Friendly. Great suggestions and exceptional care!
Date night with the wife, always wanted to come to Ruth’s. The atmosphere was nice, the food was excellent, however, the service was not great. Our waitress Tracy or Stacy, don’t recall which was nice enough, however, it seemed that she ignored us. She came in to of our location many many times and spoke to certain people asking if they needed anything, but never came back to our table. We had completed our bread and appetizer, and needed more water, but she never once asked how we were doing or whether we needed anything. I finally had to wave her down to have some of the plates cleared and to get some more water. Then we got our entree delivered by someone else, and she never once stopped at our table again. I had to wave her down to get the desert menu, then again for the bill. The weird part is that we were in a private little room with only 5 tables, how can you avoid a table???
Amazing food and service !
We love Ruth’s Chris. The Boston one is our favorite.
Ruth's Chris is THE birthday spot for two members of my family, and it is highly recommended. This time, it was my wife's turn. Drinks, appetizers, main courses were all their usual excellent. Our waiter, Nick, was outstanding; he balanced solid efficiency with a homey, makes you smile attitude. Steaks were large and perfectly prepared. Only complaints -- (1) for a few visits in a row, they have managed to screw up the shoestring potatoes. This time, they came out positively mushy. Surely a restaurant that serves this great a steak and charges over $100 a person can make french fries! They were taken off the bill, but why can't we have the excellent item we were hoping for? (2) On birthdays, why not ask what the birthday person wants for dessert? After many years of getting something that she doesn't particularly care for (cheesecake) or worse, something she actively dislikes (something with bananas in it), I finally had the brainstorm of putting what the birthday person wants into the OpenTable special requests box for our next dinner, just a month from now. We'll see if that works.
I had an exceptionally enjoyable meeting. I started with a lobster bisque followed by lamb chops. The lamb was cooked to perfection. The dining room was very attractive. the staff was very helpful and efficient.
Our server barely checked on us . Also charged us for the birthday dessert when you she stated it was going to be charged . Because of the quality of pricing ... we expected better service .. a party of 4 should be manageable. The person who was cleaning our table cared more about our service ... however, I did ask him to box my crab cake .. he didn’t seem to understand .. which he tossed it in the trash . Being an expensive restaurant.. anything I ordered I would be taking home . The lobster Mac and cheese wasn’t what I hoped to be ... it lacked taste .
Sidecar drink is amazing! T-Bone steak is mouth watering. Only thing I could suggest is more side options.
Steaks were cooked to perfection! Server was very attentive and friendly.
Overall the experience was good. Not great but still would recommend. Visiting from Las Vegas our Ruth Chris is much more laid back. You cannnot wear a ball cap into the restaurant. The ambiance and atmosphere was beautiful it’s in the old historic city hall building and the layout is cool and the architecture is gorgeous. The host who sat us wasn’t the friendliest but our waiter and severs were good. Would dine again
Disappointed. Have gone to Ruth’s Chris in Waltham and ask for filet to be cooked a bit more than rare, but not quite medium rare. Can always see a difference between my steak and my husband’s medium rare. On Friday, at Boston restaurant, was told that they’d try but no guarantees. My steak was cooked to medium rare, just as my husband requested his, and mine has lots of gristle through it. Never encountered that before. Also, ordered mashed potatoes, asparagus, and creamed spinach. Potatoes weren’t hot and asparagus was woody.
Of the many steak houses in the Boston and surrounding area, always us considered Ruth’s Chris the best....hope this one meal was just the exception.
I came from New Jersey and I have to say, the food was phenomenal. hands down THE best Filet I've ever had. my boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed the steak too. our server Abbey was amazing and funny, she made us feel comfortable and even said happy birthday to my boyfriend. the service was perfect, the food was perfect, can't wait to come.bacj to have some more.
As usual a great meal
The food and service was excellent. The steak is awesome. You must also try the cream spinach and sweet potato pecan sides.
Out celebrating a recent marriage. Wish I remembered the waitress’s name as she was outstanding! She was knowledgeable, kind, courteous and extremely professional. One of the best waitresses in all my years dining at Ruth’s Chris and anywhere else as a matter a fact.
Excellent as usual!!!❤️
Our meals were fantastic: steaks cooked to perfection, side dishes tasty, desserts incredible. We loved being in such a historic setting and the décor is true to that fascinating past. The service was the best I've had in quite a long time. Hope to return again soon.
All I can say is, thank goodness we had a gift card. Yet, somehow we still spent over $100 of our own money on a dinner for two. For a steakhouse that charges $50+ for a filet, the ambiance was mediocre at best, the service was friendly, but rushed, and the food was....blah. We had the wedge salad (which was great, but they always are at steakhouses), the filet (which was good, but not the quality I expect for the price), the lobster bisque (below average and it came out at room temperature), the crab cakes (also below average), and the chocolate duo (good, but nothing unique). All in all, the meal/experience did NOT match the price...not even close. I won't be going back to Ruth's Chris when we have so many other wonderful steakhouse options in Boston.
A total train wreck. We order, the elfin server comes back 45 minutes later asking to taken our order. Dinner arrives 90 minutes after our arrival. Server never apologized, not a single item comped. Total check was $275. I grudgingly left a 10% tip, first time ever. Beware of the elfin server.
Went for our Anniversary and everything was great! Service was outstanding and food was done perfectly. Would definitely recommend .
Good food but lousy waitress. She didn’t review the specials and argued in front of our party that we were not receiving a cake that was supposed to be provided by the restaurant that I had them prepare for my wife’s birthday. The manager came back with the cake but our waitress offered no apology. Absolutely no manners.
Everything was very good except that we were seated in a separate room with a few other tables and our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us.
The food was delicious and the server was friendly and professional.
Great time - Justin was our waiter and did a fantastic job
Beautiful and historic building. Wonderfully served and prepared. Celebrating my son’s birthday and he had a memorable meal. Was talking about it the next morning as well.
Our waiter Justin was very attentive & interactive.
Excellent steaks done the Ruth Chris way. Very tasty and great service
Great food and environment, highly recommended.
Food and Service were as good as it gets. Our business dinner was very special and I will go back.
Great night out, good food waiter Suzanne was awesome as well as front door greeting staff.
In the past during Dine Out Boston, the service has been "quicker"; we found ourselves with empty glasses on more than one occasion waiting for a waitress/waiter to come by and check in to see if we needed more wine or cocktails. Also, two of our eight steaks ordered were the wrong cut/not cooked correctly. Other than that, the food was great.
Wonderful all around. 😊 will return!
Food was great
Amy did a great job as our sever! Great service
Went for Dine Out Boston. Steak was just fine. Crab cakes were very good. The bread pudding for dessert was mediocre at best. Service was good except we felt like we were being rushed out. Overall much better steakhouse experiences elsewhere. I will not return.
Restaurant week is the best time to try this out. It is worth every penny.
Another delicious meal. Ruth Chris is our first choice.
First time going to Ruth Chris’s and it was an amazing experience. The bread was awesome, the food was great and that sweet potato casserole. Wow! Our server, Amy, was such a delight. Extra attentive and great conversation!
It’s was restaurant week. Food was great. The waiter Marin was excellent!
