Ruth's Chris Steak House - Bonita Springs Ratings and Reviews
The special occasion was our 45th Wedding Anniversary. Everything was perfect as usual until I cut into my 11 ounce fillet. My wife’s was typical of Ruth’s Chris, excellent. My filet was a little tough but had an excellent flavor. As I got to the middle of the steak it was extremely tough and grisly, definitely not a prime filet and not typical of Ruth’s Chris. I’M going to make a reservation for Valentine’s Day and probably will give Capital Grille a try.
What a terrific night at Ruth's Chris!! The food, the service - everything was terrific!!
We weren't in a hurry and Chris our waiter was totally attuned to that. He didn't hurry us and neither did his assistants as they cleared the different dishes.
The steaks (filets) were perfect! The salad and bisque delicious. They served us a a truly terrific complimentary apple pie/strudel for my husband's birthday!
And it was very special that they let us linger at our pace!
We'll be back! Thank you!
Delicious! I am not a huge fan of Sea Bass but this was the most delicious piece of Sea Bass I have ever had in my life. The apple dessert was very good too...as always the appetizers, sides, soups and salad were standard for a restaurant of this caliber- meaning amazing. A truly awesome meal but nothing unexpected or inventive, this is steak house dining at its finest.
This was our second time at this location and unfortunately we've had problems both times. To their credit, they've handled the situations appropriately and professionally.
The first time we had a problem with the temperature of the filet. My wife ordered med/rare and got rare. They promptly took it back to the kitchen and fixed the problem. Our server was extraordinary and he was always on time with a drink, table clearing, and with the next portion of our prix fixe. As a result of the rare steak, they comped us a dessert at the table as not everyone got a prix fixe.
The second time we again had a problem with the filet. It was again rare instead of med/rare but we had to wait nearly 10 minutes for our server to appear back at our table to tell him about the issue. The steak promptly went to the back and this time it came back charred on the outside, tough, and we wondered if it was even the same steak. In addition to the charred exterior, the inside of the steak, while now med/rare as ordered had a streak of grisel runing through it. My wife only took a few bites before giving up. Again, no server for the next 10 minutes to check on the temperature of the steak and see if the problem was fixed. The floor manager came by to check on us and noticed that my wife was not eating her steak. His inquiry led to us telling him about the issue with the temperature, him then giving us a lecture on filet mignon, then him finally comping the steak. But where was our server, still nowhere to be found. He didn't show back up until he brought a dessert to the table. We appreciate them not charging us for my wife's meal but we will likely try another local high end steak house before coming back to Ruth's Chris.
Overall, the atmosphere is a bit dark, we had two completely different experiences with our servers (the first was on top of his game, the second needs some additional training) and the company knows how to take care of customers.
Always consistent. Celebrating my wife’s birthday. We were there a few months ago for our anniversary. The food and service are always top-notch. I had the ribeye and my wife had the filet. Both were delicious. My wife got a free dessert for her birthday.
We will definitely go back.
They have changed their menu since we were last there. There are no healthy choices on the "Ruths Classics" menu. No salmon or other fish, no green vegetable without cream sauce. When I asked if I could have broccoli for a vegetable, I was told yes "for a $4 upcharge". The waiter said he has not authority to make changes to a meal. One of our group ordered steak: they had no "au poivre" sauce. He also wanted onion rings. We were told they are not on the menu but you can get them if you let them know 24 hr in advance. How were we to know this?
The older manager was quite rude; the younger one a peacekeeper. However, there are many choices of where to go for a great steak, and they are no longer at the top of our list.
We were very disappointed with our steaks. When I think of Ruth Chris I think "that is the premium restaurant for a steaks". We order a petite filet and regular filet. Our guest had New York strip and Chilian sea bass. When our filets came they looked like flat rib eyes. It's was sooo sad to think that this is the best you can do. When the waitress came by she did ask about our meal, my husband replied " we will not be back" they did bring him a new filet but again very disappointing for the cost. Our service was great but you sure don't get anything special anymore. We enjoy Ruth Chris but this is the 3rd time that the quality of meat was average. Our choice for a 5 star restaurant is CHOPS in Bonita Springs sorry Ruth we gave you 4 times to change it around....
We had never visited before as I do not eat red meat. My husband however was longing to find out what a nice steak from Ruth's Chris would be like. I ordered the wedge salad and the barbecue shrimp. Way too much for me to eat. Next time will order the wedge salad and the appetizer of barbecue shrimp. My husband had the sweet potato casserole and it was delectable. we both loved that one. This will not be our last visit. I am going to try the vegan dish next time...
Not a place you’d go to every week because of the price but usually if we do go we feel it was money well spent. This time we were disappointed in the quality of the meat. Not so flavorful or tender as we have come to expect and not better than other less expensive restaurants as one should expect. Actually, our filets were a let down this time. The waitress was friendly & attentive and our sides (A Must with every visit!) of shoe string potatoes, sweet potato casserole & creamed spinach were up to par... Great! Sure hope they get back on track soon. Want our next visit to be exceptional as we have experienced in the past.
They treated me so special for a birthday celebration. So fun to receive a special dessert with my name on the plate in chocolate!
Of course you must go to Ruth Chris for the steak - just the best there is. Melt in your mouth and always cooked to perfection.
Service was great and we did not feel rushed to leave.
Overall a great experience!
Manager came to every table but ours. 3 times he made rounds to all other tables around us and not once asked how we were . I am a dark skinned Brazilian man and my wife is light skin American . Felt out of place and uncomfortable . I don’t Wish this feeling on anyone...
Worst ever "fine" dining experience! We were a party of three celebrating my sister's birthday. We were seated promptly at a booth but the waiter never acknowledged us for over 15 minutes. When he finally came to our table I tried to order a bottle of wine but he indicated he would need to come back. When he finally returned to get our drink orders we tried to also order dinner and again he left. He brought the bottle of wine over 10 minutes later and I explained my mom was diabetic and we really needed to order dinner. He blamed all the delay on the bartender being too busy with happy hour. The service and kitchen were so slow that my sister and I drank the entire bottle of wine before our appetizers even arrived. When our entrees were served by another waiter we noted that the steaks and lobster were sizzling hot but the sides cold. My Mom's crab and rice was so cold that she thought is was supposed to be served chilled. I tried to get our waiters attention several times to send the cold food back and to try to order something to drink with our dinners. Finally a manager asked how we were enjoying our birthday celebration and we informed him of all the problems . He offered to replace the cold food but we had already finished our steaks and lobster . The waiter then came by and indicated there were "major problems" that evening. Also, dirty dishes were not promptly removed. At that point another manager came by and offered to upgrade our dessert but offered no reason for the delays and poor service. The decaf coffee was horrible. No refills were offered. I would have loved a fresh cup of coffee and my sister wanted a refill of her regular coffee. I finally got up and asked the waiter for our check. After much delay he brought me our $260.00 bill. He was very agitated. My sister lives out of state and our celebration was ruined. I would suggest if you want a quality meal and great service to go to the Capital Grille.
I've heard about Ruth's Chris Steak House for years and finally went to one while visiting Bonita Springs. I ordered the filet mignon (regular size) medium. It was definitely medium well with no pink inside. Arriving on the sizzling hot platter just made it more well done. I was very disappointed. I ate about 2/3 and saved the rest for lunch the next day. When I went to slice it, at least half of what was left was a huge chunk of fat. All in all, I would say this was WAY TOO MUCH to pay for a mediocre steak dinner.
